FPS games are so much better though.

Simply because they are easy to pick up, you get straight into the action.

Unlike other games where you need to grind for an ass long time and go through torture to finally get to the enjoyable part only to fine out the end game is 1/8 of the game.

The problem with pokemon is they had a great idea, and stuck with it. With very minimal variation.

Simply put; s*** is repetitive.

You're basically buying the same game over and over again.

I.e; red/blue/yellow = the rest of the series.

You can argue that "they have different plots" / "different world" / "different pokemon"

I can counter argue that you aren't buying the game for the plot, nor the world. So is seeing new monsters worth 30-40 bucks?

What irritates me the most is when people buy the SAME f***ing GAME.

i.e; silver = gold.

40+ bucks to see a golden bird instead of a white one.

Well done college boy.

tl;dr? Pokemon is a terrible series once you realize it is repetitive.

I'm running short on time so I'll just save this post to remind me to argue more in detail later.

Using your logic, I can say that every video game minus a select few extremely creative ones is repetitive. I mean, in an FPS, when do you do anything different other than run around and kill people? Kay, so you have the occasional grenade, but it's repetitiveness at its height. For hours and hours people play FPS games and never get bored of them, so that kind of shows that just because a game is repetitive doesn't mean it's boring in ANY REGARD. And why do people buy new versions of CoD or Halo? The storyline in those games isn't really stellar, and all you are getting is new maps and guns. Do you really spend sixty bucks for new maps and guns? I don't know, I sure as hell wouldn't.

Before you make an argument against RPG games (specifically Pokemon), make sure that the same argument can't be used against what you are defending. In this case, you forgot to check that and your argument fell apart pretty quickly. You can still make an argument considering that FPS =/= RPG, but it's a hard argument to save when you realize that repetitiveness does NOT imply lack of interesting material.

Go Dark. I for one, never really was very interested in FPSs, the only ones I've ever played being Metroid Prime 1 and 2 (which definitely has more adventure, among other things, than things like CoD and Halo).

No matter what others say about repetitiveness, I never get bored of it. If I have to level grind for hours for no apparent reason other than to get a lv 100, or I'll play games over and over (usually the exact same way), and never tire of it.

If your only arguement is against repetitiveness, NightWalker, I suggest you gain more patience and tolerance.

I like FPS, but they are really getting overrated. There are a few FPS I like (Namely, the Timesplitters series and the 007 series). However, others are just seriously overrated. I for one played Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 because my older brother played it and I felt like playing and it was absolutely horrible on Single Player. Multiplayer was pretty bad as well. That one game not only made dislike it but it also made me dislike many FPS of modern gaming. They just are all too similar.

Yes clearly I thought of this when writing my response.

Did I ever say FPS games are better for any specific reason other than that it is easier to pickup.

I NEVER said I buy multiple versions of cod and/or Halo. (I don't even play halo) I play MW2 to play with friends from school (if it weren't for them I wouldn't ever pick it up), Black ops ONLY for the wager matches (I got this game as a Christmas gift, didn't want it in the first place), and I play Combat Arms because it is the only FPS I thoroughly enjoy.

I do realize, and agree with your statement that people who buy COD for 3 different systems are absolutely moronic.

Overall, while the FPS genre gets repetitive it is an easy one to pick up.

I can play a quick game for 5 minutes, go on a 2 month vacation, return and pick it up just as easily.

I don't see how that would be possible with rpg games. They simply demand too much of your time.

AND JUST TO MAKE IT CLEAR.

I do in fact enjoy the RPG genre.

This pony show is quite nerd, just a heads up in case you weren't aware and do not want to be thought of as a 6 year old female.

I thought you were cool. I am sad to say I was wrong.

OH AND YES POKEMONS ARE NERDY TOO.

I swear, in the future you are going to be a little hobo in New York and your boss is going to be some nerd that sits in his office playing Pokemon all day. That would be the epitome of irony and I would just laugh so hard that my lungs would explode and my liver would bleed out of my ears.

And yeah i'm full of myself, but so is dark, therefor it is acceptable.

You aren't as good as me, so it's not acceptable for you.

---

Now that I've made fun of NightWalker a bunch, let's move on to his argument against RPG and for FPS games. This is known as a "similarity argument" kids. As always, his words are in italics.

Simply because they are easy to pick up, you get straight into the action.

RPGs are easy to pick up. Take Pokemon, for example. You pick up the game and you start playing. You bounce right into the storyline and the action and the Tackles and Water Guns and Gym Leaders.

enjoyable part only to fine out the end game is 1/8 of the game.

Well, all of an FPS game is enjoyable, but it's not as enjoyable as the end-game of a Pokemon game. In essence, it averages out to being just as enjoyable as Pokemon.

Also, realize that in Pokemon you are building up to something. It isn't senseless grinding. You battle and TMs and HMs and Gym Leaders so that you can eventually get power to face the Champion. There is an actual goal, unlike FPS games where it's just senseless killing over and over and over and over and over again... non-stop, never-ending.

The problem with pokemon is they had a great idea, and stuck with it. With very minimal variation.

The problem with CoD/Halo is they had a great idea, but stuck with it. With very minimal variation.

What irritates me the most is when people buy the SAME f***ing GAME.

i.e; silver = gold.

What irritates me is that some people buy the same damn game. I mean, why would someone buy Call of Duty 1 and then buy Black Cops? 60+ bucks to see new guns and a new map.

Pokemon is a terrible series once you realize it is repetitive.

FPS games are terrible once you realize they are repetitive.

but it's a hard argument to save when you realize that repetitiveness does NOT imply lack of interesting material

It just needed to be repeated, sorry to say.

Did I ever say FPS games are better for any specific reason other than that it is easier to pickup.

You said Pokemon was a terrible franchise because it was repetitive. So you agree that FPS is a terrible genre of game because it's repetitive? SO YOU AGREE THAT ALL VIDEO GAMES IN EXISTENCE ARE TERRIBLE BECAUSE THEY ARE ALL REPETITIVE? <___<

I NEVER said I buy multiple versions of cod and/or Halo

Too bad a large majority of people that own an XBOX or a PS3 and play FPS games definitely own more than one from the same franchise. People buy MW2 and go crazy for WaW and go crazy again for Black Cops. But it's the same game, right? So why buy anything else after MW2? What's the point?

COD for 3 different systems are absolutely moronic.

No, I'm talking about three versions of CoD for one system. Like Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon SoulSilver, both for the DS. Am I a moron for buying both?

Overall, while the FPS genre gets repetitive it is an easy one to pick up.

I can play a quick game for 5 minutes, go on a 2 month vacation, return and pick it up just as easily.

Overall, while the RPG genre gets repetitive, it is an easy one to pick up.

I can play a quick round of Pokemon for ten minutes, go on a four mouth vacation, return and pick it up just as easily.

AND JUST TO MAKE IT CLEAR.

I do in fact enjoy the RPG genre.

AND JUST TO MAKE IT CLEAR.

I don't, in fact, enjoy the FPS genre. <3

You know, just coming in like a dumbass, at least Night doesn't call Ace Attorney stupid because it's a logic genre.

He actually liked Investigations.

So yeah, just pointing out that he isn't lol fps f**.

Nah, those AA games suck. I mean, they are way too repetitive. You just keep solving crimes over and over and over again. Where is the fun in that? And why would anyone buy a new AA game? Who pays forty bucks for more cases to solve but the same boring old gameplay?

...I hope someone realized that was satire. I hope.

Not even going to bother Dark.

Simply because in order to actually have a complete discussion I'd have to return to this site, find this thread, then reply.

I have better things to do sir, I have to go play all my different fps games (12) and I then have to find a job in which my boss is a pokemon trainer.

But I'm sure you have better things to do as well, dress up as a pony just in time to watch your favorite pony defeat the likes of the evil mules, then of course you can play pokemon till you are 30.

This pony show is quite nerd, just a heads up in case you weren't aware and do not want to be thought of as a 6 year old female.

I thought you were cool. I am sad to say I was wrong.

The feeling is mutual my friend.

You are saying that in a club that is called "The Mushroom Kingdom". Ironic how Nintendo (and ultimately, the name "Mushroom Kingdom") is rejected, isn't it?

There's a difference between liking a company and blindly saying "Nintendo is better than everything!"

Because that is what the club is based on? Nintendo being best? We even consider Shigeru Miyamoto something like a deity.

Point out where it says the club is about Nintendo being the best and not just about Nintendo products.

The Miyamoto thing is a joke.

At least in my case.

inafune is superior.

Look, I f***ing LOVE Nintendo, but that was blatant fanboying to the extreme.

Hopefully the others will agree with me. Although I'm probably wrong here.

Nice arguement.

Whenever I see a Dark post that some might apply "tl:dr" to, I just smile. :3

...I didn't think I caused people to smile. I always assumed I made people cry or commit suicide or something.

Good to know. :3

"I'd have to return to this site... reply"

Okay, so you are kind of saying that you can't think of a decent enough reply so you're going to make some bullshit excuse to get out of an argument you're already losing. Fine.

You have 12 FPS games? I thought they were all the same. Doesn't that get really repetitive? You're a moron for wasting your money.

Definitely, I dress up as a pony while playing Pokemon, I watch MLP:FiM while playing Pokemon, and then afterwards I play my Pokemon mod with ponies in it. It's better than playing FPS games 24/7, at least in my opinion.

...but you aren't cool enough to even have a decent enough perception of "cool", meaning that your opinion is invalidated.

I still love you, though. <3

I don't know, I think Miyamoto is a god in game designing. But I unfortunately have to agree with Ice. I understand we're in a Nintendo-related club, but blatant fanboyism is really annoying and imo, stupid. And it was wrong of you to compare Nintendo to My Little Pony when the two... aren't even related. There's a reason why I've finished twenty-six episodes of My Little Pony and still haven't beat neither Pokemon Black nor Ocarina of Time 3D yet. Why don't you guys figure it out?

Ermm, no.

I don't have anything to do on this site other than to argue with you, (which is the most fun i've had on this site in around 6 months)

Check my recent posts if you don't believe me, I have nothing to do here.

And no you do have a right to believe Nintendo is the best and to publicly express your beliefs, you also should be able to think negatively about a pony show if you so desire with out being looked at differently.

It's just generally annoying going _______ IS THE BEST EVER and stuff.
