Night
It wouldn't get repetitive. There's all sorts of stuff they could explore underwater. Underwater volcanoes, coral reefs, etc And Shark Mario FTW This made me sad True true...I'm starting to see this unfold...And i'm getting excited... Shark mario, Elec mario (Eel), Yellow fin mario (Based off the tuna, speed), and Octo mario? But yeah underwater volcanoes, huge chasms, and the new rosalina would be a mermaid. ;3Bro. This. Idea. Is. f***ing. Great. <3 EDIT: Pic made me Lol, but I then felt bad for the doods :/
DL
That would be amazing. Octo-Mario would be like fire flower mario except instead of fireballs they would be ink balls? And he could grab onto the walls and stuff. (don't ask me how that helps underwater) A common level would probably be a level full of tiny underwater volcanoes that make you have to time your swim to avoid the bursts. EDIT: INORITE? I FELT THE SAME WAY. MARIO IS SO MEAN.
Dark
Let's combine the best of both... worlds. Have Galaxy 3 bring back FLUDD from Sunshine. I know I'm sexy and smart- just deal with it.
DL
That could work.... but I'd prefer Mario Ocean (?) to Mario Galaxy 3 w/ FLUDD.
Dark
I feel like a completely underwater Mario game limits you a lot. No Mario game has been limited in levels, because Mario has the distinct "World" feature, where each World is given a theme, not the game itself. Fusion X. Denver
...I've got it.Mario travels...around the world. No think about it, France level, Bahamas level, NEW YORK CITY LEVEL, plot could be Bowser trying to harness hidden power behind the world's wonders and Mario has to chase him around in a hot-air balloon within 80 days which would be the hub world.I doubt they'd base it off the actual world, but they could pull off levels that were heavily inspired by said locales. DL
+ Rep Super Mario 'Round the World? Either way, I would buy that game. Imagine a Japan-inspired level.
Night
Agreed.I doubt they'd use real places, with exact names and such. But They could pull off something like that. Bermuda Triangle level FTW?
Dark
... You'd need to get some concept ideas down before I think about that. It sounds interesting, but after analyzing it for a few minutes, it seems kind of retarded to put into practice. How would you go about making a New York City world? Have each level take place on a skyscraper? How does that resemble anything relating to Mario whatsoever? And how would the New York City world be different from the, say, Chicago world?
DL
O.O That would be hard. By that logic there would be a lot of side levels, which would be plane/ship levels where he travels to different places. I'd enjoy that <3 EDIT: Obviously they would make things from different countries. And it could very well work, and they could still make it very Mario-ish. .Starrk
How about Super Mario Galaxy levels in irl? Like Japan, America, the place thats speaks German, that place where that Jamaican s*** music and Bob Marley, and pot are from, Andorra, Italy and dare I say Russia?
DL
...What? It wouldn't be Galaxy if it was IRL But perhaps Bowser split all the countries in the world into seperate galaxies? The countryplanets would be immense stereotypes. ,-,
Night
First of all Bob Marley = God. Just saying. And it wouldn't necessarily be called "New york city" it would just be a city in which there are skyscrapers.

DL
...I don't get it. Anyway, Mario jumping around skyscrapers would be beastly, despite...anything.
Night
...I don't understand either. What doe south park have to with anything, beside the fact that Family guy is a much better show? Mario getting turned into and alien in a Bermuda triangle/Area 51 level would be boss.
DL
Alien Mario... >:333 SLIME STUFF ? >.> <.< I actually think South Park is better, since it's a perfect parody. Although it DOES get a bit too...much at times.
Night
He turns green and slimy, and he can hop in and out of a mini-UFO. Outside of it he has a laser gun. And inside he can just steer it to get over platforms, but so to keep it running he would need to abduct koopas and the likes as a type of "fuel"
.Starrk
In the south park episode, "Cancelled" earth's inhabitants were transported from different planets. Like asians came from planet asia. White people from planet Europe etc.
DL
@Starrk - OOOh Makes sense @NW - ....Hmmm...not diggin the Koopa abduction too much, but maybe it gets hard to turn, and if you crash into an enemy, you lose the spaceship.
Fusion X. Denver
@Stark-Loved that episode. They need to make a GIF for the talking taco pooping ice cream. As for NY City as a level, it'd be weird, but doable I think.Leaping across rooftops, ducking through alleyways, jumping on the Koopa citizens who try to subdue you since you're like a criminal in their city >.>Or something. DL
...That brings a new idea What if Mario was made the enemy in a game? Like, he was blamed for someone, and everyone was chansing him, an- Owait...Mario Sunshine.... Right.
Dark
Again, how would New York City be different than Chicago? It seems like it would just be a game like SMB3 or SMW except that each world might have a different overlay as a background. Something I really, really want would be a game comparable to Okami or Zelda, but Mario format. Mario hasn't ever had an action-adventure game, and the thought of it sounds really cool. But I guess the whole reason Zelda was created was because they didn't want an action Mario game.
DL
They gave Sonic a sword. Why can't Mario go around in an action adventure with his hammah? >:
