AKA Clair, Dark, Dane, Night, Twig, Rain and myself. No DL you can go disappear somewhere because you said you'll be kind. Unless one of you guys can't/don't want to, this will be good in my opinion. Dark Posted February 19, 2011 Report Share Posted February 19, 2011 I kind of wanted to do the entire 3/5 of members must accept you, but I realized that not only will members be so inactive that it will never get done, but also some people are way too nice. I was also thinking about having a council to send PMs out to people who are worthy of joining (like how that Legends Cardmakers club used to do it), but I shot that down instantly because it was bullshit. The council idea isn't bad, but it would be major bias if I chose the entire council. And I don't like Ice's lineup of seven anyways. One thing good about the council idea is as people get inactive I can replace them with other council members. And since we have seven, we can make it a simple majority to be accepted into the club. The main issue with that is at the beginning, where I'm literally the only one in the club, it's a one-man council. So what I think I am going to do is work on the skeleton of the thread with a seven-man council in mind, but not actually choose the council until people start joining. I already know a few picks, and I hate to have people APPLY for the council, so I'll figure something out. I've been creative before, let's see if I can do it again. Best case scenario is that the thread is up before 11 PM EST. If worse comes to worse, I can always post it midnightish or just tomorrow, and it wouldn't be a huge deal. Note that unless you can show me you have high standards for future members, you will not be on The Council. I hate to use her as an example, but Clair is a member I know and love, but I have doubts about her being on The Council. I really want her to, but if she is going to blindly accept everyone without a second thought, I'd rather have someone with higher standards. Of course, sometimes people who you don't like will get accepted, and you'll have to deal with it. We can also vote (and majority rules) to kick someone out for any reason. Also, the Council shall hold their decisions in private, but I have yet to think of a way to effectively do that. EDIT: I have a better idea. Let's say we have seven Council members. Since you need four accepts to get in, we could just have the people who want that person in accept, and everyone who wants to decline just don't post. It still makes it obvious who wants the person in and not, but you have to take some harm before you can join, right? ^___^ This club is falling apart even before it's created, but I'll make this work. EDIT (2): Ice, maybe I am creating this club and posting it, but this club isn't just mine. It is ours. I would have never made this club if I was the only support behind it, and I would like everyone else to have their suggestions count, because oftentimes their suggestions are better than whatever I can come up with. I know Dark uses an emulator, so I'm thinking one day he and I could find a game to netplay or something. We can figure something out. Generally, it's just a co-op channel that was founded. The main focus is Minecraft though.
