Not luck based >.>

Maybe I'm not explaining it right.

But it actually requires very minimal amount of luck.

So it's on auto...yet doesn't rely on luck.

I don't get it.

I mean sure, equipment/grinding/team order play a part in it but this seems like an RPG for lazy people.

semi-auto

You CAN put it on auto if you're lazy, or want to focus on casting spells with your other party members

But semi-auto only runs back after you attack.

Of course, if you keep using special attacks, you just keep going on.

Im sayin the thing is set to semi-auto because they call it semi-auto.

There are two options, Auto, and semi-auto, that can be changed during battle, or out of it, in the in-game menu. it's automatically set to semi-auto at the beginning.

IDK why they call it semi-auto, probably because he runs back after you do just a normal attack.

Oh, and I heard Tales of Phantasia was lesser to the other Tales games, and I loved it. And I believe them, because 1. The English dubbing was very very bad. 2. GBA graphics couldn't do the game justice.

Altho it was for the SNES originally.

Enough with Phantasia's old battle system and let's show them some 3D.

Linear-motion battle system is where you're in a large field where you can run around in. The attack commands are just one button for normal attacks, with the control stick tilted for different normal combos. Techniques are just like Smash Bros, you have a special button by itself, up special, down special, side special. (there are various techniques and you have to set up which ones are set to which commands when you get more than 4)

It's really not that confusing. Just with Phantasia (and Legendia), it's on a 2D plane, instead of a 3D one. I'm just saying a Pokémon game like that would be awesome.

Tales of Symphonia is probably the second best game I've ever played. 60 hours not including sidequests? Hell yeah. (split over 2 discs, too) I won't go into details besides that, but the game's awesome.

It's sequel is good on its own, but compared to ToS, it's very sad indeed.

You know how many times Abyssion made me die before being able to beat him????????? Over 60 times. He would rank as my number 1 if I had a "Top 10 bosses that had given me the most trouble before knowing how to beat them". He just kills you off so quickly (You need an all-divide just to beat him).

The Tales battle system looks more believeable now, but explain why that deserves any merit in a Pokemon game?

The Tales people have like twenty or less characters to program for battle, and even less attacks.

GameFreak has 500+ Pokemon, and 600+ attacks.

A battle system like DBZ (I'll get a gameplay video later) would be a lot more simplified, and a lot more interesting.

I'm just saying it would be cool if they did that. It seems perfectly matched for a Pokémon game, because when you think of Pokémon battles, you don't think of two (or more) guys duking it out turn by turn. You imagine it would realistically look more like that.

Or maybe I'm just an idealist, who can tell?
