I get the point of tiers, of course, I just don't like them >.>

Because it's definitely not just about skill, but what you do with the skill you have.

A more creative player can do MUCH more good with, say, Snake, than a non-creative player with the same amount of skill.

In some situations tiers are rendered useless.

I can see how some are basis, I mean, I personally don't think Meta Knight is all that (he's pretty damn easy to beat, no matter who I face) but that may just be that guy. Some tiers, I must admit, are right.

But putting Roy in the bottom tiers is just not right. He is one of the better characters, IMO. I'd say he's overpowered ._.

There were time constraints. And with Dedede, Sakurai was afraid of over-representing his own series.

I'm not sure about anyone else, but Dedede and Meta Knight were meant to be in Melee, but those darn time constraints came in again.

So was Snake.

I never said just because I'm good with him doesn't mean he's GOOD, I'm just saying TR4Q just because he's low on a tier doesn't make him BAD. All characters are equal.

But if it takes two equally-skilled players on Final Destination with no items and three lives to prove the point of tiers, that makes them crap, IMO. In order for something to be right, for me, it has to be right in most, if not all situations, and tiers don't do that, at least this one. The only tier I believe in is the

.

Both Ike's and Marth's Counter last the same amount of time. Marth's starts and ends faster, while Ike's starts and ends later. I'm good at predicting my opponents, (which is probably why I'm so good as powerhouses even with their attack lag and slow speed), and I'm awesome with Ike's counter.

Megaman X5 was my favorite game back in the day. Then I got X6, but it didn't amaze me as much as X5

The intro was <3333333

It probably was not as special because (and also a fun fact) X5 was supposed to be the last of the X series, then it would go to Mega Man Zero series.

Another fun fact about X5: The 8 RMs in the american version are named after members of the Guns n' Roses band

I love the Megaman Zero games, I have all 4 of them. To continue through the story, you select your mission, where you go through the level and then defeat the boss, like the original Megaman games. You can also teleport to any places you've been later (unless there's certain circumstances) to just level up your weapons, look for Cyber Elves (they do various things such as heal you, raise your physical abilities, my favorite is the one that makes insta-death spikes only hurt you instead). They're a cool game series. Pretty much exactly like the Megaman ZX games if you've played those. (ZX is a direct, yet distant, sequel to it, after all)

Define creative?

And no, Meta Knight is rated number one because he has amazingly good matchups, has an epic DI cancel, and has literally no start lag on any of his attacks. I'm not saying those alone make him good, but just because you can beat a few people using MK doesn't mean he is automatically not number one. Tiers are decided through countless amounts of battles, not a subjective interpretation by a player. Tiers aren't official, sure, but they involve a lot more "science" than saying you can beat anyone using a Meta Knight.

And from what I can tell in Meele, Roy was a very slow character, and his Smash attacks had a lot of lag. His specials weren't too hot, either.

I never said just because I'm good with him doesn't mean he's GOOD, I'm just saying TR4Q just because he's low on a tier doesn't make him BAD. All characters are equal.

No, tiers are not right in every situation. You could go to a sudden death match between MK and Marth and have MK lose because a Bob-omb fell on him. Likewise, you could have a two-year-old playing as Meta Knight beat an experienced player playing with Bowser or Ganon on Hyrule because of MK's swiftness and awesome recovery options. Tiers show that if a battle is composed of almost all skill, the higher ranked character will almost always win. Anything luck based like items or stage choice is too subjective to put tiers through, but I'm sure that, unless you choose a really biased stage or put really stupid items, the higher-ranked character will have a large advantage.

And I understand you predict well and use Ganon to much success. I'm not telling you to stop using Ganon; no one is. But tiers are tiers, and Ganon being bottom-tier should not affect anything. People need to realize that in tournaments, only Meta Knight is banned. If you don't like the tiering system, don't bother changing it. Just ignore it.

Also, if I had it my way, Marth would be much higher ranked, because I suck at predicting Counters.

Marth's really isn't used for prediction. His activates so fast it's use mainly to break combos and stuff. Ike's however, with its slower start up time, definitely takes some prediction.

Either way, isn't Counter fun? Sometimes I've just used it for about a minute to counter all my opponent's attacks before actually attacking them myself.

Let's talk about characters. Do you like:

Link or Toon Link?

Fox, Falco, or Wolf?

Mario or Luigi?

Captain Falcon or Ganondorf?

Ness or Lucas?

Mewtwo or Lucaro?

Link or Toon Link?

Both, but Toon Link is better to play with, one of my best.

Fox, Falco, or Wolf?

All sorta the same...but I'm best with Wolf.

Mario or Luigi?

Mario Bros pwn. Period. Mario's sorta my better guy, but I'm beast with Luigi and love using him too.

Captain Falcon or Ganondorf?

Falcon. Bish, you can't rip off the Falcon Punch.

Ness or Lucas?

Eh...Lucas.

Mewtwo or Lucaro?

Definitely Lucario, but Mewtwo should have been in Brawl, that was the one imperfection it had to me.

And that they did this and made a SECOND clone of Fox >__>

You know what could be cool?

If the next Smash Bros game had original characters. Maybe unlock them by playing whatever Subspace Emissary they put in.

Link or Toon Link?

Link in Melee, I was good enough to beat a lvl 9 with one hand without spamming the c-stick. In retrospect, I got worse with him in Brawl, severely. Toon Link has slightly too short a reach, but otherwise, I love him.

Fox, Falco, or Wolf?

Falco, Fox falls too fast, and Falco's moves are more solid. I'm worse with Wolf than Fox.

Mario or Luigi?

Luigi, he's just so much better, IMO.

Captain Falcon or Ganondorf?

Both, they are both fun to play with in different aspects. Cpt. Falcon offers freedom of movement, Ganondorf has some sick attacks.

Ness or Lucas?

Both, but moreso Lucas. I DO feel Lucas is better than Ness, altho Ness DOES have redeeming qualities, such as teh bat.

Mewtwo or Lucario?

Both, Mewtwo was fun as hell to use, and I'm good with Lucario.

Also, one time I suceeded in beating my friend because I managed to counter every single one of his attacks with Mr. Game and Watch (his best character) up to the point he received 97% damage just from counters.

But he payed me back by not dying with Marth's final smash by just using Ike's B up (temporarily causes immunity to flinching) in a later match.

Also, Marth's counter is <3 against combos.

can anyone find me good pics of mavericks from the SNES X games? I feel like making an X set.

Did you try Pixiv yet? o:

Counter pisses me off. ;D

Love to use it, hate to have it used against me.

As for the characters...

Toon Link (faster, more agile, iirc)

Falco (reflector kick lol)

Luigi (headfutt ftw)

Ganondorf (all his attacks are really powerful, where as falcon only has his pawnch)

Lucas (because I love Mother 3)

Mewtwo (was really sucky, but I pick him for nostalgia)

Hey hey, updated the first page. :D

VGM, please?

Marth is amazing to use for me. I love using his counter at the most random times.

MUSIC?

oh you D:

I love that music by the way. Colosseum OST is under-appreciated. :'D

Well Marth's counters can counter so many things.

I mean, it can counter fire, lightning (even though metal is a conductor) and even ICE.

EDIT:

*checks the first page*

I'm considered extremely active? O.o

Makes you wonder what the sword is made of. o:

yes you are

you post here, like, every day, dude <3

I'm also extremely active, apparently. I'm guessing you don't count the occasional hiatus?

Whether you like Ike or Marth more, you gotta admit, Ragnell > Falchion. It's a shame Ike doesn't fire shockwaves from it like he can in FE, he could use a projectile.

SO LET'S DISCUSS THAT NINTENDO X CAPCOM THINGY THAT MAY GET MADE.

This was Inafune's plan all along. If he left, they would start to make a crapton of fighting games because they need him.

Then, when a super cool idea is made, he will come back and make the game awesome.

I just know it.
