Oh my god. In the little time I've had Minecraft, I've gotten so attached to my character that I literally cringe in pain whenever I have to fall from a large distance and take damage.

This story is absolutely true about my Minecraft experience today, and none of it is exaggerated. The mode is on Peaceful, meaning no enemies spawn, because I am not yet ready to deal with creepers. Besides, I have to build up some resources.

The story is quite long, so if you read it and comment on it coherently, I'll praise you.

---

It was a long Minecraft day for my character. He roamed around in the morning and found a suitable place for a new house, since the old one was in quite an awkward location. In the beginning, he made a house, built his furnaces and chests, went back to his old house, retrieved his other stuff, and finished moving in. But then he had a genius idea. He took twenty blocks of refined wood and stacked them on top of each other, on the top of his house. He then placed five candles on all five sides of the top block, that way he wouldn't get lost. This was quite good, he thought to himself. He chuckled at the thought of him getting lost, but knew it would undoubtedly happen.

He took sticks from one chest and stone from another, and crafted six stone picks. Beautiful. It was time to roam around, in search of more coal. He still had 15 pieces of pure coal leftover, but he wanted to get a ton extra so he could start digging downward for iron. He scavenged the countryside in search of coal. Along the way he killed seven pigs for a total of 7 pieces of meat. Too bad three of them dropped none and three of them dropped two. He ignored the seascape entirely, and was very wary of any black rocks. He looked around him. Wow, he thought. Down there is one cave system, but the fall will hurt me. Down there is another two.

And then, he realized. This generated world was perfect. He had three cave systems all in the same location right next to his house. But the fall would hurt him; he would need to create a ladder system for ease of entry and ease of flee. No matter, though. He continued along the path, still searching for the lucrative coal. So much sand was around him, and he thought of building a sandcastle. But that had no purpose. Perhaps he could create a tunnel system of sand so that he could get to mining without leaving his house, so that mining would be safer at night? His house was not built into a cave, but rather in the middle of a complex of three caves, a few hundred meters from the beach. He put off the idea, since coal was his main concern.

A cactus, he found. In the middle of a beach? There is no way that this could be possible. Maybe it wasn't a cactus. He cut it down and received three green pieces. Hm, maybe I could use this for something. He walked towards the mountain of sand and noticed something. He could see his fire tower from here. Haha, that is just awesome. He climbed up the mountain and down to the other side. Oof! He fell, and fell, and found yet another cave system. But this one was not as deep, as the ground level was only four blocks above him. So he checked if the cave system was already precarved entirely. It wasn't, and it was confined. And then, he saw it. COAL. He dug and dug the coal, almost for what felt like an eternity.

For once, he even thought, can the coal stop? It kept appearing next to previous blocks of coal. IT WOULD NOT STOP. He was getting quite nervous, since he was digging downward without ladders or steps. Coal, coal, coal. Sixty pieces in total he was able to get from this trip. Yes, sixty pieces of coal. Add that to the fifteen from before and he was at seventy-five pieces of coal, on his fourth or fifth day on this planet. But then, he looked up. He dug down in a stupid fashion, such that he was not able to get up normally by jumping. He was only able to get up by placing stone below him for twenty or so blocks. And then, he looked down.

He saw a lone block of coal, but he looked around it. Lava. He had struck a cave system, but this one was so deep, full of spawners, and had lava. He was not prepared to tackle this, so he used the power of stone to get back up to the main level of the cave system. He was almost about to leave, until he saw that some of the sand was floating. Other blocks can float, but sand has the property that it falls if nothing is below it. So he took out his shovel and dug one piece of sand out of the structure. And it collapsed, all of it. It was a glitch, but now the entire structure of sand closed in on him. He was essentially blocked off from the main world. The only possible way to go was down, where the lava was. But he would not accept that.

He checked his inventory. Rats! No work bench, and only one stick. So he crafted four candles and looked at his surroundings. There was not a single ounce of sunlight coming in. He refused to be trapped in here, so he punched the sand infinitely until it broke. And again. And again. Until he created a stairway out of the cave system. Before leaving it, he made a note of its location, and swore he'd be back to confront that lava and the potential of spawners. Oh, he'd be back.

He was outside of the cave system and looked around him. It was nighttime, and he was getting sleepy. But he forgot where his house was! He went to the highest point he could find and noted his fire tower. He raced towards his house, opened the door, and put his coal, stone, and sand blocks away. And he did a final inventory before he slept.

Sounds like you had a productive fun time Dark. I'll warn you now, DO NOT LET SAND/GRAVEL FALL ON YOU. It's a pain to get out of at times, and it slowly kills you. You got lucky the sand that fell didn't land on you.

And Dark, that wasn't a glitch. That's the sand falling due to gravity. The fact that one piece was floating was the glitch. You fixed it.

Anyway, inventory time.

That coal is an amazing find.

The Ladders will be very helpful, especially in cave systems.

You probably won't need that many stone stairs, but it's possible.

Lots of stone is good.

Be very resourceful with your Refined Wood. You don't want to run out.

That is awesome, you got a really great world generated for you.

I'm actually planning on exploring a cave system today because I have 64 ladders. We'll see how it works out, though.

There is also an island not too far off the coast, so I may explore that for a few in-game days.

THE DIFFICULTY WILL STAY ON PEACEFUL UNTIL I AM READY TO MEET CREEPERS. ^_____^

Do it, you need the Iron.

MAKE IT EASY. THE CREEPERS WANT TO PLAY.

If I play Minecraft would you play M3?

I suppose so.

If I would have made it on Easy today, I would have died at least twice. Not to mention the fact that enemies exist in cave systems. Do spawners even exist on Peaceful mode? Also, where do I get string other than by killing enemies? I want to make a bow.

Minecraft Inventory

A bunch of stone tools that I cannot be bothered to list, nor the quantity.

210 Coal

27 Iron bars

13 Flint (the stuff you get from Gravel)

207 Candles

53 Ladders

7 Cooked Meat

640 Stone

116 Stone Steps

319 Refined Wood

192 Sticks

I also got lost in a cave system today, I burned myself with lava (but I didn't die since I was on peaceful and I heal half a heart every other second), and it took at least twenty minutes to get out. At least.

I'm not liking these cave systems very much. They are good for minerals, but it is so easy to get lost in them. Maybe I should think of some method to get out asap, if I need to. Originally I planned on building a house and mining, like Layton did in his LP, but my house is in the middle of a sandy beach, a few hundred meters from the seaboard, and surrounded by at least seven cave systems in close proximity. Ugh.

I went to a nearby island and it had nothing. Literally nothing.

Nope, you can only get string from spiders currently.

The inventory looks good.

Indeed it is. If you need them, you can make signs. I haven't shown them yet.

My problem is now fixed. I just need to find some redstone to make a compass and watch with.

Also, Minecraft has some pretty snazzy music. <3

Redstone is often found near lava.

It really does. Too bad it doesn't play often. D:

Also, one day you should check out the multiplayer. It's still beta, but it's interesting.

Going through the Minecraft OST soon. :3

I can show you one that is currently working on building actual cities, or I can try to make a new server that would only be us. Which one would you prefer?

Well, its your choice entirely. If anything, make a server later on so that when Clair and Ice get Minecraft (when, not if), we can all find coal together.

But for now we could build cities. =3

Getting Minecraft next week. <3

Oh, and the song in my sig is the best VGM sounding song ever.

YOU BETTER.

It looked stupid to me at first, but I've had it for like two days and I'm already hooked.
