1-Up Mushroom Gives Mario an extra life.

Fire Flower Lets Mario shoot fireballs.

Starman Makes Mario temporarily invincible.

Super Mushroom Makes Mario grow double size, allows him to break bricks.

 

Super Mario Bros. 3

Frog Suit Allows Mario to swim faster and in any direction.

Goomba's Shoe (also known as Kuribo's Shoe) Allows Mario to walk on spikes.

Hammer Suit Mario can throw hammers.

Super Leaf Gives Mario the ability of flight and a tail attack.

Tanooki Suit Allows Mario to Fly, turn into an invulnerable statue, and a tail attack.

 

Super Mario Land

Super Flower Allows Mario to toss superballs.

Super Mario World

Item Effect

Cape Feather Slows Mario's descent from the air, can fly, damages enemies around while Spin Jumping.

P-Balloon Temporarily inflates Mario, allowing him to float.

 

Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins

 

Carrot Slows Mario's descent from the air, can hop continuously.

Super Mario 64

 

Wing Cap Temporary flight.

Vanish Cap Temporarily allows Mario to walk through enemies and chain link fences.

Metal Cap Temporary invulnerability, and ability to sink in water.

Feather Works identically to the Wing Cap.

Power Flower Works as a P-Balloon for Mario, Metal Cap for Wario, Vanish Cap for Luigi, and gives Yoshi fire-breath.

Spring Mushroom Gives Mario and Luigi the power to jump higher.

Propeller Mushroom Mario can fly through the air.

Item Effect

Rock Mushroom Mario can turn into Rock Mario, that while rolling,he destroys enemies and objects.

Cloud Flower Mario transforms into Cloud Mario and he can create 3 cloud platforms.

Dash Pepper Yoshi turns into Dash Yoshi.

Bulb Berry Yoshi turns into Bulb Yoshi.

Cannon Power. Player becomes a cannon, and is shoot out soon after.

 

Baby Yoshi Throwing: More Yoshi abuse :<

 

Walljump Boots: They let Mario Walljump!

 

Flutter Boots: They let Mario Flutter jump.

 

Wait, these are hacks, they don't count, do they? :<

... Okay then. People have made hacks where you play as Baby Yoshi and kill things, does that count?

 

I never noticed before, but the Nostalgia Critic has called some really good songs made by Disney to my attention. Listen to this song for example. Not exactly what I would expect from Disney.
