IC: Dan had to find Matt. He had to tell him about the Shadow Rider. However, he couldn't find Matt. Anywhere. He searched everywhere, but he just wasn't to be found. "No matter," Dan said. "I'll just find the guy back at the Duel Dome. Maybe I can beat him better than that other guy I just faced!" He headed for the Duel Dome, not realizing it was "Free Rare Card Day" and there were 20,000 people in the stands. "Oh, snap......."

Ghost saw Dan walk in behind him but he decided to stay put and continue to watch the duel, which now had been under way for 5 min. When he saw a group of people in front begin shouting, Ghost thought about giving them a lesson but he wasnt in the mood. He picked up his deck and looked for the mystery card. 'Oh what can you be...' wondered Ghost as he inspected every detail of the card.

"Hey, you!" Dan said, finally spotting the Shadow Rider he saw earlier. "What is your purpose? Why on Earth are you after me? I haven't done anything to you!" The rider started looking through his deck. "Hey!" he continued, "Don't you hear me?!" The rider still stood there. Dan hoped he was listening, so he continued. "Now my parents and friends are missing. Why do you torture me?" He still said nothing, so Dan started to charge at him. Dan as hoping to whack him, but he stopped. "You're probably just not in the mood to talk right now," Dan whispered to him. "But I hope you accept this as a piece offering." Dan took a card out of his deck and threw it on the ground. "When you're ready to talk," Dan said, with tears forming in his eyes. "Come find me." With that, he walked out of the Duel Dome.

As Ghost saw this kid have a hissy fit. He continued to inspect his mystory card. When the kid left he looked up and saw the duel finish.

'Give me a hour with these cowards and I will turn them into real men.' Laughed Ghost.

He put his deck in his pocket, and walked out the of the dome and walked Downtown direction.

Ahead he saw the kid that shouted at him, and Ghost knew it wasnt time yet. He stuck to the shadows and no one saw him swifly sweep past towards his appartment block.

He swiped his kee to get in the block and charged at the door with his keys. He never turns the lights on. He walked up to the living room with a very dim lamp on and saw a picture of his school mates from years back. A tear formed in his eye.

'Its too late Ghost. You are more powerfull than the shadow realm. You can have your old life back with your friends. The boy that aproched you in the dome is begining to remeber his Real past. Dont hide it in your anger' said Cyber Dragon.

'Cybes, its not as easy as that.' said Ghost wiping the tear from his eye. 'Unless you want them brain dead, we will have to wait. And I will never be offered that life ever again anyways.'

Ghost slouched on the fabric sofa and drifted off to sleep.

It started raining again as Dan kept walking, hands in his pockets, back hunched over. Gaia appeared beside him, keeping a blank face, but Dan knew something was wrong. "We have trouble," Gaia quickly stammered. "Since when do we not?" Dan mumbled, as he kept walking. "Remember before," Gaia said. "When I told you that you had the power to cross from this world to the Spirit World?" "Yeah," Dan said, this time looking at Gaia as he walked, "I remember." Dan stopped walking, and could sense Gaia's fear. "Is there a problem?" Dan asked, cautious and worried. "I'm afraid so," Gaia whispered. Why am I not surprised? Dan thought in a sarcastic tone. "What's the trouble?" "The Darkness of the Shadow Realm has started interfering with the Spirit World. It will soon be completely surrounded unless someone takes action." And that someone is me.... thought Dan. "That someone is you." Gaia said. "Now, I want for you to concentrate really hard, and you will end up in the Spirit World. Are you ready?" "Yeah," said Dan quietly. "I guess so." This is ridiculous! Dan thought. "If you concentrate hard enough, you'll reach the Spirit World!" That's a bunch of s--- Dan couldn't finish his sentence because he just dropped of the face of this world and ended up on the face of another.

Ghost woke up with a startle. He looked around the room to insure this wasnt a shadow realm trick.

'Dammed elders. If they wont tell me, I will find out myself.' Shoted Ghost.

'We both know that you dont want to know what that card is. Remember the Orichalcos card? I have a bad feeling this is its big brother. Dont mess around with power' said Cyber Dragon.

'If it is then I would love to play with it.' grinned Ghost. 'It will make me the most powerfull duelist in the world.'

Ghost went over to the kicthen conter and found his Dark versian of Cyber Dragon.

'Combined with this I am unstopable.' smilled Ghost as the Dark Cyber Dragon appared.

'I am ready for what you need my Master' said the Dark Cyber.

Dan was lying, unconsious, in a patch of dark green grass. He had been lyng there for a few minutes, and he suddenly awoke. "Uggh." Dan said. "My head....It hurts...." He was weak, and sat up straight. He looked around, but didn't recognize anything around him. It was like he was in a whole new world......

 

......Which, of course, he was.

 

Gaia appeared beside Dan. "Welcome," Gaia said. "to the Spirit World." The recent memories were coming back to Dan. "So," he said. "where's this 'dark evil of the shadow realm'?" Gaia pointed out to the horizon line. "What?" Dan said, confused. "There's nothing there." "Look closely," said Gaia. "You'll see it." Dan squinted his eyes, and saw a pitch-black storm cloud coming. "So? That's just a storm cloud. It'll pass." "No, it won't," Gaia said. "Unless we do something."

As Ghost was wandering around his house, he sensed a disturbed spirit in the shadow realm.

'Hes early.' Said Ghost with a sign of disapointment in his eyes.

Ghost went into a room with candles lighting the room and a circle marked by flames.

Ghost entered the circle, sat down and began meditating with the words;

'My lord of the shadows, give me the rest of your power, as I may enter the Shadow Realm in your Image!'

As Ghost was saying this a dark Shadow was being cast around the circle.

Ghost opened his eyes to see the boy he saw dueling. Ghost walked over and said,

'Your spirit is clouded with darkness and it is nearly time for the full control.'

Ghost gave him a card which was identical to the one he recived earlyer that day.

'When you draw this card, your soul will be completly shrouded with darkness. I am sorry son but this is how it must be.' Ghost said.

Then Ghost walked off to the Shadows.

Dan was walking toward the dark cloud, head held high. He kept a blank face, but inside he was deeply worried. What if the darkness is to powerful? Dan thought. What if it takes over this world? "It won't," Gaia said. "Because I believe in you." He smiled and disappeared. Dan still was uncertain about the upcoming events. He stopped, with a shocked look on his face. "I can't do this..." Dan whispered. "It's too much pressure." "Dan," Gaia said. "What happens in the next hour will determine the fate of this world and your world...." Not helping.... thought Dan. "....but you must stop this evil. No one else can." "Why me?!" Dan shouted. "Why can't someone else be responsible? Why Dan Wheeler? I can't take it!" He fell to his knees and started sobbing. He stopped and saw a dark figure appear before him. "Who are you?!" Dan screamed. "Answer me!" The figure said nothing, so he said, "I challenge you to a duel! How about that, tough guy?!"

Ghost heard the challenge and turned around to say,

'When the time comes wheeler, you will duel me. But for now, I would start playing with things that you can control. The Shadow realm is a dark place.'

Ghost went over, touched his sholder and Dan left the shadow realm.

'My master, prehaps you should take back the card you gave him.' said Dark Cyber Dragon.

Ghost closed his eyes and reopend them in the real world. He looked out the window and saw the crack, begin to form the clouds.

'It is allmost time' said Ghost...

Dan woke up, in his bedroom, in the same way he woke up in the Shadow Realm. He was covered with aches and pains. He just barely remembered what jus happened. He did remember the dark figure that spoke to him. He had an oddly familiar voice, but he just couldn't place it anywhere. He just shrugged it off and started getting ready for sleep. He looked at the clock. "3:50 in the morning," he mumbled, and lied down on his bed. He tossed and turned, but couldn't get to sleep. It was almost 5:00, when Dan started to drift off, when a large boom of thunder startled him. Gaia appeared beside him. "It's starting." "Whoop de doo...." Dan said, sarcastically. "More evil." "Get up," Gaia said. "Now." "Can't the world come to an end tomorrow?" Dan moped, under his covers. "I got no sleep." Gaia shook his head.
