Dan turned around. He thought he heard a noise coming fom outside. He peaked out of a broken window. "Guys, heads up." he said. "Tall guys. Dark cloaks. Duel runners. I don't know about you, but I don't think it would be best to stay here." He turned and started heading for the door. "Are you gonna come?" "These are 'Shadow Riders'. They are the dark evil I was telling you about." Gaia said. "What is thier purpose? What do they want with us?" "Long story short, they want to take over the world by using the power of a children's card game." Gaia said. "That has to be the dumbest thing I've ever heard." Dan said. "I know, right?"

Ghost saw the convoy of shadow riders and cursed under his breath. 'I told them to wait' Mumbled Ghost to himself. As he saw another group across the road, he felt like dueling them but he had to do somthing. Ghost climbed up the worn wall and sneaked through a window and into the shadows.

'I under satnd your lust for power Ghost but dont hurt others in your quest!' said a weary Cyber Dragon.

'Oh shut up and be a good little dragon' cursed Ghost.

Matt followed Dan out. "I understand your lust for power Ghost but don't hurt others in your quest!" Matt heard. "Ghost? Who's Ghost? Any ideas Gearframe?" "I don't know who Ghost is, but I do know that was the voice of a Cyber Dragon." "Great. More of my cards talking?" "Bru bru bru bruuuuuuu Bruuu Bruuuu." "He said, 'It was a different Cyber Dragon.' Which is true." "Who's was it then?" Gearframe and Penguin did a facepalm.

"Well, I'm not waiting to find out!" Dan burst outside, which probably wasn't the best decision. "Hey! Mr. Dumb and Dumber! If ya wanna pick a fight, pick it with me! And Zack, Matt, feel free to help out!" "Are you sure this is a good idea?" asked Gaia. "Of course!" Dan said. "Besides, I've been waiting for a challenging duel for awhile, now!" "Well, I'll be in your deck if you need me." said Gaia. "Now," Dan said. "LET'S DUEL!"

Ghost swiftly exited the back of the building and ended up in a empty ally way. He saw 2 men, dressed in black suits and a mask covering their face. Ghost waited anxiously for them to talk but all they gave him was a note:

Some people have a special talent for being able to cross from this world to the Spirit World. You, Dan Wheeler, are one of those people." Dan stood there stunned. Duel Spirits, Spirit Worlds, conquests for power. This was a lot to take in for one day. And imagine! Having the ability to cross between worlds! The Fierce Knight continued, "Ghost, the man you have heard of earlier, is trying to bring about the end of the world. Using the powers of the Spirit World, he will destroy all who oppose him." "Well, then we have to stop him!" Dan replied. Gaia smiled. "I appreciate your optomistic attitude, my boy," he said. "But there is so little we can do. However, if you are determined enough, we may still have a chance. You may even get your parents back..."Dan wiped tears from his eyes. "...But your life, as well as these others, are in great peril. Are you sure you want to do this?" Dan smiled. "If it means getting my family back safe, then yes. I will." Gaia smiled. "I was hoping you'd say that." The knight vanished back into his deck. Dan turned around, seeing his new friends behind him. "Guys," he said, slightly crying. "I don't know where your sympathies lie. I don't know if you have others to protect. But I need to stop this new peril at all costs. I know you might feel that this is too dangerous. But, right now, I need all of the help I can get. Now, I ask, who will join me?!"

All of a sudden, Steb appeared behind Dan, looking of nothing but a black silhoutte to Dan's friends. He had another silhoutte next to him that looked somewhat like a man but...larger and more mechanical.Dan friends told him to look behind him and as he did so an expression of surprise smeared across his face."Hello Dan"Said Steb"Brvvv..."Said the machine next to him that everyone now relised was Steb's duel spirit, Junk Warrior.

It took all of Dan's strength to kick the guy in the shin, and when the stranger flinched, he squirmed out of his grasp! "If you wanna fight, you'll get a duel!" Dan put on his DuelDisk and inserted his deck. "Come on, don't be a big coward! Duel me! Whaddya say!?" The man just stood there. "ANSWER ME! NOW!"

His Junk Warrior returned to his deck."im going to warn you before hand though, you are about to experience a whole new world of pain, a world where duel's aren't just some card game. They are a fight for survival! With each Life point you lose the more spirit you lose. With each attack you will experience pain. More and more pain until you finaly can't take it any more. If you still want to duel i'll give you one but i'd advise not.Hahahaha!"

"Matt?" Dan asked. "Why are you crying? Happy to see this duel end so soon? What's goin' on, buddy?"

Ghost exited the ally and saw a fellow shadow rider dueling a strange charecter. A shadow was forming around this guy next to the duelist and Ghost new exacly what was happenning.

'Not now my masters, when the time comes.' Ghost whispered. Ghost walked up towards the game but stayed just in the shadow. 'This should be intresting.' Laughed Ghost.

"Alright, my move!" said Dan. "First, I activate Ookazi, so you lose 800 LP! (LP: 2200) Now Summoned Skull, attack!" (LP: 1000) Dan smirked. This is too easy! Dan thought.

'Who asked for your comment Enistine(Spelling?)' said Ghost, shooing his duel card away. 'Your comment will be needed when I ask for it.' Ghost then focused his attention on the duel when he noticed a draining shield activate. 'Stupid fool. That skull is merly a soldier of his army' cursed Ghost.

"So you survive another round," Dan pouted. "Big deal! You're just avoiding your own impending doom! This game is mine! I draw!" Before Dan even looked at his card, he knew exactly what is was. Dan felt a huge amount of energy coming from the card as he shouted, "I summon, Swift Gaia the Fierce Knight! Because my Fierce Knight was the only card in my hand, I automatically get to Summon it!" Gaia turned his head back at Dan and smiled. "Now, Gaia! Attack! Wipe out the rest of his Life Points!" (LP: 0) "The duel," Dan gasped, sweating, "is won."

Ghost wacthed his servent get owned. 'How did that pafectic loser get owned by a no body. Ghost then turned around and walked in the other direction, sticking to the shadows.

In his head he dipised everything that people thought was 'Nice' or 'Good'.

When he walked pass a duel dome, he decided to go in and watch the duel. He saw the 2 duelists line up with their duel runners and activate them. 'All this duel runner crap is so over rated. Traditional dueling is the best.' Mumble Ghost.

Dan decided to start walking home. Gaia appeared beside him. "So, how did I do?" Gaia asked. "You were great!" Dan chuckled. "Pretty last second though, if you ask me." "Heads up. Behind you." Gaia warned, as he disappeared. Dan saw another guy in a dark cloak coming by. He ducked behind a bush. He heard him talk. "This duel runner crap is overrated," he said. "Traditional dueling is the best." Dan took a peek at him, and memorized his face. As he walked away, he concluded that it was another "shadow rider". Perhaps he was the leader?
