[spoiler=Plot] We move away from the original charecters of 5ds and are introduced to some very strange characters. When these charecters meet eachother they realise they are very special. When they begin to see a crack which no one else see, they know a storm is comming.

Strange things have started happening lately. All of his friends seem to be vanishing, including his parents! Dan knows there is a darkness somewhere, hiding. He has to save the world from this treachory and evil, but he doesn't know how. All he has are his cards, and a strangely large amount of luck.

He joined Ghost as Ghost's number two/right hand man. He can send anyone Ghost wishes to the shaodw realm. it is said his good side is banished there as well.

Side: Good

Bio: Midnight was a normal boy who for some reason was always staying up all night and slept during the day, he didn't like light and was considered weird. He was eventually asked to join the Shadow Riders and was sent to the Shadow Realm, though he was attuned to darkness he was not evil, he resisted the evil influence of the Shadow Realm and was able to escape. Afterwords he was scarred by the darkness, forced to wear his mask and his normal Dragunity Deck was changed to his current one, he now understands what kind of organization the Shadow Riders are and has vowed to defeat them.

Apperence: Wears the same Dark Dragon Mask as Atticus. He wears a black Coat and a black shirt with white jeans and black boots. He also has long white hair that reaches his hips.

Personality: Shadow is cool and calm though his temper seems to flare when he's dueling. He has a sweet tooth but he tries to stay away from them in order to keep his cool image. Shadow is devoted to defeating the Shadow Riders and hopes to someday be able to remove his mask.

Bio: Kira's family was murdered in the middle of a terrorist attack, Afterwards she fell into a deep depression. She was later introduced to Ghost as a remedy to her problems. Ghost promised to help her. She is now a loyal servent to the Ghost Organization

Apperence: Long Jet Black hair with bright blue eyes. SHe has on a shirt and a long black skirt held up with abelt. on the belt is a deck box.

Personality: Dark, Kaniving and Evil. She is munipulative, and but short to anger.

Equip: A black Wheel of Fortune and a Dark Signers Duel Disk.

Side: Neutral

Bio: Little is known about this person. It is known that he was the first person ever sent to the Shadow Realm. He conquered the ceatures there and became master of the shadow realm. He mainly just observes history and watches what happens. He has appeared in multiple occasions involving shadow duels and other events in history. He appeared during the ancient times of the pharhoh atem and during the Battle city tournament. He has been seen multiple times and those who have come back from the shadow realm claim to have seen him. He remembers every face that has been in the Shadow realm. For some reason he has decided to take action in the human world, perhaps it is because of the appearance of Ghost. His intentions though are unclear.

 

Apperence: A pure black face with a golden wadjet eye in the middle. Black cloak that covers his body. When he takes off his cloak all that is under it is a dark body that appears to look like the shadow realm.

He later enrolled in Duel Academy, and was placed in Red Dorm because he refused to take the entrance exam but aced his exhibition duel.

Ghost and the fellow Shadow Riders where gathering behind a aboundoned building, listed for demolition. 'We are growing sloppy with our actions. The elders are becoming nervous and need this done' Whispered Ghost to his fellow Riders. They all twitched when the word'Elders' was metioned. 'It will soon be time to seal the crack.....'

Matt woke unpleasantly. He looked at his alarm clock next to his bed. 6:00 AM. He got up and got dressed in his usual clothes. He went outside and looked around. No one was here. He yawned and said "I wonder why I got up so early." "Because of me."said a voice from his deck box. "What the hell?" Matthew said, looking around. Still no one. Suddenly, an orange and white robot appeared in front of him. "Machina Gearframe?!" Matt asked. "Yes. I happen to be your Duel Spirit." Machina Gearframe announced. "You have GOT to be shittin' me." Matt sighed. "This is some kind of mental problem right? Your not real?" Matt asked, scared. "I am, in fact, real. You are having no hallucination." Machina Gearframe answered.

Zack and Elemental Hero Neos were in hiding. They had no idea WHAT they were hiding from, but they knew they had to hide. They were running in and out of buildings until they found a good building. A new home. Zack opened his pack and got ready. He looked out the window and waited.... waited..... waited..... waited.... he then fell asleep out of boredom...... "ZZzzzzZZzzzZZzzzz"

It was a dark, cloudy morning when Dan woke up. He had a terrible feeling in his back as he tried to move. He sat up in bed, rubbed his eyes, and looked out the window. "Same old day." It seemed to him like every day had been like this since his parents vanished. "Maybe if I'm lucky the weather will clear up," he mumbled to himself. After a rousing breakfast of cold cereal, he got dressed and walked outside. Just his luck it started to rain right that second. He quietly cursed under his breath and started walking to the store. It was Saturday, the day when his dad would usually go Grocery Shopping. Dan would remember also his dad would bring home some bagels. He smiled and continued walking, until he saw a kid run inside the old abondoned warehouse. He looked worried. Dan ran in after him, and after searching for a half hour in the huge building, he found the boy, fast asleep, with his deck beside him.

Matt finally decided that Machina Gearframe was real indeed. He took his deck out of his box and looked at all his cards. He sighed and put them away. He closed his eyes for about 5 seconds and when he opened them, his Duel Disk was on his arm. "You might need it." His Deck Box said. Suddenly, it started to rain. He walked some more, and then some kid that looked his age ran by him. "Hey, wait up!" Matt said, following. The kid went into a abandoned warehouse. Matt followed to see the kid looking at some other guy that was asleep. Gearframe suddenly appeared. "Neos is near..." Gearframe disappeared. "Who's Neos?" Matt asked. "This is so weird..."

Dan saw someone else run up behind him. "What's going on?" he asked. "I'm not sure," Dan said. "I saw this guy run in here, and when I found him, he was asleep." They both stared at him for a long time. "But what was he running from?"

Matt walked up to the sleeping kid's deck. Matt picked it up and looked at it. "Elemental Heroes? Wait a minute... I've seen this guy before... Remember, Gearframe?" asked Matt as Gearframe conveniently appeared. "Yes. I recall him being... Zack?" replied Gearframe. "Oh yeah! Zack! I dueled him before!" Matt said to Gearframe excitedly.

"ZZzzzZZzzzZZzzzZZzzzZZzzz-Huh?" Zack asked as he woke up "What're you doin' with my deck?!" Zack freaked as he snagged his deck back and gave an intimidating stare at Matt "Are you trying to steal my cards because I beat you last time?" Zack asked "Just pulling your leg 'bout the stealing thing." Zack stated with a smile before he opened his pack and pulled out his Duel Disk and placed it on his arm. Zack then got on his feet and stretched.

Midnight was walking around in the rain, he hadn't been able to get to sleep so he decided to go on a walk, luckily it was raining and it felt more natural for him to be under the rain over being in sunlight. He noticed two people running into an abandoned building and was mildly interested by this, though the chance was slim they may have a connection to the Shadow Riders so he decided to follow them and see if their was a connection.

"Uh... why are you getting out your Duel Disk? Wait... you want to duel me?!" Asked Matt excitedly. "Are you SURE that's what he means?" Gearframe questioned. "He could just be getting it out cause there's Shadow Riders somewhere." "Huh? Shadow Riders? What's that, some kinda band?" Matt asked. He turned to Zack. "Hey, you know what 'Shadow Riders' are?"

As Ghost stormed out of his leir, a very angry Cyber Dragon Appered.

'Ghost, dont let your powers overtake you. This is not who you are!' said the Dragon, filled in fear of what his owner has become. 'You have not yet understood what this means to me Cyber. When you are human, you dont know how lonley the world is. How hard it is to be loved.' Said Ghost looking at the ground. He shoved Cyber out of the way and looked at a man whos face said 'Crazy'. 'What old man?!?' Shouted Ghost.

"Well," said Dan. "I officially don't have any idea what's going on here. How did you guys meet? And if there's gonna be a duel, then count me in." Dan took out his DuelDisk. This is for you, mom and dad. Dan thought. "And by the way my name is Dan. Now, let's get started." He looked at Matt and Zack, as he drew his first cards.

"Well, I'm in for a duel." Matt said, activating his duel disk. "Matthew, are you sure about this?" Machina Gearframe asked. "Uh... sorta." Matt replied, drawing his hand. "Besides, Gearframe, what's the worst that could happen?" Matt asked, having no idea that he could send anyone to the shadow realm. "It's not like I'll get mad." "..."

Eko walked over to ghost. He then put a hand towards cyber dragon. " Now is not a good time." Eko said to the dragon in a high italian and Afican accent. He was wearing a duel disk and his duel runner was parked near him. "Master Ghost. Who should I target next for our goals?" Eko said handing cards of a one he defeated who ghost said he done something very unjust. Eko took one card from it : Gear Town, Because it had support for his deck.

Ghost saw Eko walk over and ask a question and he paid no attention to. After a couple of secound he answered. 'Chose your own victems my boy.' As he saw eko grip his deck he said, 'Dont be wary on your deck. Trust yourself, and you will previale.' He looked towerds the main street and disapared into the shadows.

After listening to the boys conversation Midnight decided they had no actually connection to the Shadow Riders, but he would look into them to see if they could make good allies against them later. After leaving the building Midnight felt an odd chill down his back and decided to continue his walk, he got the feeling that he would find something important if he continued traveling down this path.

Matt suddenly felt a strange twinge. Suddenly, one of his cards flew out of his deck. He grabbed it and it was NOT in his deck earlier. When did I get a...? When did he get a...? It was Penguin Solider. "Bruu! Bbbrrruu!" It said, randomly appearing out of the card. "Dammit! You too?!" Matt yelled at the card. "Bruu? Bruuuu?" "Uh... this is weird." Matt looked at Gearframe like it was retarded. "And you suddenly appearing in my life ain't?" Realizing Dan might be confused, Matt said, "Hate to say it, but the duel will have to wait."

"What the----?" Dan said. Swift Gaia the Fierce Knight! Dan thought. But how? "I am Gaia." He said. Dan stood there in shock. "I am here to warn you. A dark force is coming. Your life and the lives of these others are in danger. You must prepare. I will help you as your servant. Good Luck." Dan stood there. A dark force? What did he mean? Oh, God, I have to be dreaming. "Uh....." Dan said. "Did either of you guys just see that? Matt? Zack? What's going on?"

"Well, I kinda have an Idea. These monsters, like Gearframe and Gaia, are 'Duel Spirits.'" Matt explained. "That's a horrible name, 'Duel Spirits.'" Gearframe pouted. "You called yourself that!" Matt snapped. "'Spirit Monster' is better, thank you very much." Matt stared at Gearframe. "Bruu! Bruuuu! "Yeah what he said! Whatever he said..." "BRUU! BRUU!! BRRUUUU!!! "He said to shut up and listen." "Bruu bruu bruuu bru." "'Dark forces called Shadow Riders-' Which I have said '-are trying to do evil stuff.'" Gearframe translated. "'Evil Stuff'? how specific." Matt said sarcastically.
