When "Swords of Revealing Light" was activated, Yugi's face-down monster was flipped face-up. "My Mystical Elf," Yugi said, gritting his teeth, "is exposed." Yugi drew his next card. "Since I can't attack, I summon this monster! In Defense Mode!" Everyone stood gaping with surprise when they saw Yugi just throw down a Defense Position card. Everyone thought he would have some big trick up his sleeve, but he just played a monster. "Uh, guys...." Tea said. "This doesn't look too good for Yugi." "Well, don't forget," said Bakura. "The duel just started. Yugi has plenty of time to figure out what to do. Don't count him out just yet." "I end my turn!" Yugi shouted, bursting with confedince. The only thing I'm not sure of is why he played such a weak monster. Yugi thought. What's his scheme?

"I summon," Joe announced. "Golem! (DARK/Fiend - Effect/6/2500/1800) By sacrificing my Fiend Roar God Rulie! And I activate Block Defense! All monsters are switched to Attack Position! Now," Joe said. "Golem! Destroy Mystical Elf! (Yugi LP: 2300) Now I activate Golem's Special Ability! If he destroys a LIGHT monster, he can attack again! Destroy his other monster!" Joe was so happy, he knew was going to win. He started his crazy laughing again. "HaHaHaHaHa!" Joe screeched. "YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHAT'S WAITING IN THE WINGS, YUGI MOTO!" He was absolutely mad. "NO IDEA! AND WHAT'S MORE, I HAVE THIS!!!" Joe, still laughing, pulled out the item that was in his pocket. "THE MILLENIUM SCALES! WITH IT'S DARK POWERS, I TURN THIS INTO A SHADOW GAME! HAHAHAHAHA!" The whole area around them turned pitch black! Joe continued laughing as he said. "YOUR TURN!"

Recteik was in shock,"A shadow duel!" He turned to yugi's freinds,"Yugi Moto has a Melenium Item!?" The blonde who beat Raptor said."Ya, what of it?" "You don't get! If this turns into a shadow duel Yugi will be fighting for more than just his star chips. He'll be fighting for his LIFE!" The girl cried,"Oh no Yugi get outta there!" "Its too late!", Recteik shouted as the shadows engulfed the arena. "All we can do now is hope."

 

OOC:I don't plan to use my Perfection Dragons again. Their way too powerful.

IC: Yugi stood shocked. A shadow duel? Not one of these again. he thought. "I'm sorry to foil your plans," Yugi said, "But I reveal my Trap Card! Go! Mirror Force! Your Golem monster is destroyed!" At least now, Yugi thought, I can breathe a little easier. "My monsters are safe." How did he get a Millenium Item? I heard these things originated in Ancient Egypt, and my Grandpa found it on an expodition. How peculiar. But I must win. For my grandpa's sake. "You revealed my Celtic Guardian! But now, I sacrifice them both to summon Dark Magician! I also place one card face-down!" At least my Defenses are a little higher....

"Hmf..." Joe said, pouting a little. "So you blocked my attack. But little did you know you actually helped me!" Joe drew the card for his next turn, and immediately summoned it. "I play this!" he announced. "In Defense Mode!" Joe began his absurd laughing some more. "LET ME TELL YOU A LITTLE SECRET, YUGI!!" Joe said. "WHENEVER SOMEONE LOSES LIFE POINTS IN THIS SHADOW DUEL, THEY LOSE A LITTLE BIT OF THEIR LIFE SPAN! YOU REACH ZERO, YOU DIE!!" Joe laughed some more. "I WILL TRIUMPH!" Joe finished this laughing and said, "I activate Ookazi and end my turn!" (Yugi LP: 3200) "What will you do now, punk!!"

Yugi felt his life energy shrink and fell on his knees in pain. "It..........really.......hurts..." Yugi said weakly, grabbing his stomach. After a few minutes of listening to his opponent's strange and loud laughter, Yugi stood up and said "My move." He looked at the cards in his hands, and thought. Hmm. Nothing in my hand at the moment will help me. But if I believe in the heart of the cards, I know I'll prevail. "I'll just end my turn now." he said closing his eyes. Outside of the Dark Field, Yugi's friends were worrying. "They've been in there for quite some time..." Bakura said. "Don't worry, Bakura," Joey said. "You've seen Yugi duel, and you know good he is. I'm sure Yugi will be out here in no time, braggin how easy it was to defeat that deranged maniac." I hope your right, Joey. Tea thought. You've got to.....

Age: 17

 

Bio: Really just a normal person from a fairly normal family. As a "tradition", all of his family members were in the Academy. They were all Slifer Red students. He, however, is a Ra Yellow student, one of the top Duelists in his dorm, almost worthy of Obelisk Blue. His record states that he lost only 3 Duels in the last year. He was confident enough to sign up for the Champions of Duelist Kingdom tournament. He knew he probably wouldn't win, but he would have fun.

 

Appearance: Outside of the Duel Academy, he usually wears a leather jacket over a white shirt, jeans, and a belt with deck boxes for his main Deck and his second Deck. He has medium-length black hair. He always uses his Academy Disk.

 

Reason for joining the tournament: To measure up against other top-notch Duelists

Joe looked at the card he drew for his next turn. He smiled an evil smile, as he slyly looked over at his opponent, Yugi Moto. "Well Yugi Moto," Joe said, with his insane laughing going on. "But it seems we have reached the end of the line." Joe chuckled as he shouted, "I WIN! I SUMMON EXODIA THE FORBIDDEN ONE!" Joe went crazy with laughter as he played all five special cards on the field. "NOW, EXODIA!!" He shouted, "OBLITERATE!!!!!!" He watched in excitement as he saw Yug's Life Point count drop to zero. The dark sphere around the field disappeared as Joe stepped down, and grabbed Yugi's Dark Magician, along with his Millenium Puzzle. "Oh, and I'll be taking these as prizes! HaHaHaHa!" Joe walked out of the cave, with Yugi's two star chips. Meanwhile, Yugi's soul was sent to the shadow realm.

IC: As the dark spirit of the Millenium Puzzle was sent to the Shadow Realm, the real Yugi Moto awoke, beside all of his friends. "Uh......" Yugi moaned, as he sat up straight. "What just happened?" "This doesn't make any sense," Bakura said, as everyone looked at him. "What makes ya say that, Bakura?" Joey questioned. "When someone loses a Shadow Game," Bakura explained, "The soul of the person who lost goes to the Shadow Realm. Yugi's soul shouldn't be here." "Then, who left?" Tristan asked. Everyone pondered this for a moment, except for Yugi, who was in too much pain to think. Eventually, Tea said, "I think I know what's happening. Remember a few days ago, we all had a weird dream there were two Yugis? And whenever Yugi duels, he seems to become a completely different person?" "Yeah." Tristan said. "Now that you mention it, he does seem a little different." "Well," Tea continued, "That Yugi was sent to the Shadow Realm, and this one stayed here." "We have to get him back!" Joey said. "And I know how to do it! If I can win this tournament, I'll free Yugi and his Grandpa!"

Joe started walking to Pegasus's castle. I hope Pegasus keeps up his end of the bargain. he thought. I did what he told me to do, and now he owes me 1000 dollars. What worries me is, will he keep his promise? All he said I had to do was beat him in a duel, take his star chips, and steal his Item. Joe stopped for a moment, where he heard a kid of about eight years of age come up and challenge him to a duel. This entertained him, so he accepted the challenge. All of the kid's cards had less than 800 ATK, and he only had one Trap: Two-Pronged Attack. It actually helped Joe. He won in 5 rounds. He took all of the kid's Star Chips, giving him a total of five. He continued walking toward the castle, and when he got there, the guard said he couldn't enter. He had to have ten Star Chips. Joe was clearly annoyed, and tried to explain he was hired by Pegasus, but the guard still denied his entry. Joe stormed down the steps, angry and grumpy, mumbling to himself.

Mitsuki had come running as soon as he heard that there was a shadow Duel taking place. When he got there, he watched in horror as Exodia the Forbidden One obliterated Yugi and the Duelist fighting him took his "prizes". He was thining about challenging the Duelist, but if Yugi lost to him, Mitsuki probably would, too. But when he saw Yugi get back up, he was very surprised. How'd he get back up after that, and how did the other Duelist get the Millenium Scales? What's going on here... To take his mind off of things (which was fairly difficult) he thought about who he should Duel.

 

Eventually, he decided to challenge Joey Wheeler to a Duel. He probably wouldn't win, but he'd know how good he was, and if his own Deck needed some tweaking. You never know... He started searching for him, and while he was searching, he went over his strategy in his mind. When he found Joey and the others, he asked "Hey, Joey! I heard you just beat a Duelist. Care to duel me?"

Joey and his friends were walking along, and he saw that another duelist was challenging him. He walked up to him and thought, This guy doesn't look too tough. But what's that wierd thing on his arm? No matter. I'll cream this guy! "I accept ya challenge, kid." he said. "But I won't go easy on ya!" Joey stood on the blue end of the dueling field, and the other kid stood on the other end, the red end. Joey looked at the cards in his hands, and said, "I place one card face-down, and summon Baby Dragon!" I have a little trick up my sleeve.... Joey thought. And it's completely foolproof! "I guess," Joey shouted, "That's it for my turn! And now it's your turn! Think you can beat me?" "Joey seems pretty confident," Tristan said. "I hope he knows what he's doing."

Mitsuki went up to the red side of the field and drew 5 cards. He waited until his turn. When Joey ended his turn, he looked at his cards and thought for a second. Then he said "Yeah, I think I can beat you! I activate Double Summon! Then, using Double Summon's effect, I Summon X-Head Cannon and Y-Dragon Head! I equip Y-Dragon Head to X-Head Cannon (X-Head Cannon: 2200 ATK) I activate Poison of the Old Man and inflict 800 damage to your Life Points! (Joey LP: 3200). Then I set a face-down card and end my turn!" Joey seems really confident. I wonder what he has up his sleeve...

"Hate to break it to ya," Joey said. "but I activate Trap Hole, destroying X-Head Cannon!" X-Head Cannon suddenly exploded, vanishing from the field! "Now, it's my turn." He looked at the cards in his hands, and started to smile. "I summon, this!" Joey announced. "Go, Time Wizard! Activate your Special Ability! See that little Time Roulette over there, pal? If it linds on a Time Machine, all your monsters are destroyed! But if it's a Skull, well.....we'll see what happens! The arrow started going in circles. (I'm actually flipping a coin, here) and it landed on........ the Time Machine! (heads) Y-Dragon Head was destroyed, while Joey activated Polymerization, forming Thousand Dragon! "Attack Directly!" Joey screamed, as his Dragon delivered 2400 points of damage to his opponent's Life Points. (Mitsuki LP: 1600)

Joe started walking to the forest fields after he left Pegasus's castle. He was still angry about his entry being denied, but he started to cool off. He was looking around for seemingly weak duelists so he could clobber them. He looked at every single one closely, and he saw a short kid with dark hair. To Joe, he kind of looked like a zombie. (This is Bonz) He went up to him, and challenged hm to a duel. "Follow me if you accept my challenge!" Joe said, as he started heading away. The kid followed him, with a couple of guys who were both about twice the hight he was. They both shuffled thier decks, and shouted "Let's Duel!!" Joe drew a card and said, "I'll start by summoning Green Gadget! When this card is summoned, I can send one Red Gadget to my hand! I place one card face-down and end my turn."

Bio: Leonard's parents were taken away from him when he was 8. He lived by himself for 6 years, while making his own cards and entering them for Kaiba Corp. They were created to be used only by Leonard.

IC: Bonz couldn't help laughing to himself after his opponent's first move. This fool actually believes he can defeat me! Bonz thought. I'll show him the full power and force of my Zombie Deck! "Heh Heh...." Bonz laughed. "I Summon this!" he announced. "Go! Dragon Zombie! Destroy Green Gadget!" (Joe's LP: 3800) Bonz smiled. Bandit Kieth recently joined Bonz and his group, and this was the first duelist Kieth had Bonz face. Secretly, Bandit Kieth was using Bonz and his crew as bait. He planned to steal all of thier Star Chips and kick them off the island when they had enough. As far as Bonz and the others knew, though, they were all in this together, all gaining ten Star Chips to get into Pegasus's castle. "With that move," Bonz screeched, "I end my turn!" "Good job, Bonz." Bandit Kieth. "The way you're doin', we'll be in Pegasus's castle in no time!"

Leonard had just walked out of the Card Shop. He needed to find somebody to duel, and fast! Although he was the worst at dueling he knew. He knew he had no chance. He wondered who even invited him too this tournament. Maybe it was Scott from back home, but Scott was way better than him. He looked through his Deck, realizing a note behind one of his cards. It read:

 

Dear Leonard,

 

I know you may think you are a bad duelist, but I know you have the potential to be the best. I entered you into the tournament because of this. I have a feeling that you will beat Pegasus. As a surprise, I have modified your Deck a bit. See you when you get the prize money!

Age: 16

 

Bio: Three years ago, his parents were killed in an incident at Industrial Illusions involving the creation of the Egyptian God cards. In order to deal with the pain, he purged all emotion. He has wandered ever since. As he wandered in Domino City, he met a strange man. This man entrusted him with the Starsign cards. Occasionally will lapse into Japanese (i.e. When he summons a monster, he says "___(monster name)___, Shoukan!" as opposed to "I summon ___(monster name)___!").

 

Appearance: Shows no emotion. Never smiles or frowns. He has scarlet red eyes, and plays with a "poker face" as some call it. He has pure white hair and wears a white jacket resembling the Duel Academy Senior Uniform. He wears his dueling gauntlet on his left hand, as opposed to the normal right.

 

Reason for entering: Invited by Pegasus himself

After queitly watching Yugi be defeated, Zodia set a new target: Joe. He followed his new target as he headed for Pegasus' castle, however, he stopped. He noticed Yugi's friends trying to stop Kemo (The guy with the pointed hair) from throwing Yugi off the island, due to the young boy's lack of Star Chips. Zodia made his way over to the commotion and tapped the guard's shoulder.

"WHAT?" he snapped, "I'M BUSY!"

"I'm just here to say he still has a Star Chip," Zodia replied.

"There's no Star Chip on his gauntlet. See for yourself!" he said. Zodia inspected Yugi's gauntlet, and as he did, he inconspicuously placed one of his own.

"See? There's one right here."

"You gave it to him!"

"He has a Star Chip nonetheless. I say he stays."

"He is leaving."

"Perhaps we'll settle this with a duel." Zodia began to ready his deck.

"Oh, I don't duel." Kemo replied. He began to laugh at his friends' contiuous pleads. All of a sudden, someone else's voice was heard over the others'.

"Have him duel me!" It was Seto Kaiba's younger brother, Mokuba.

"Very well, then," Kemo replied, "If Yugi's friend wins, then they both can stay. If Mokuba wins, both of them leave."

"I accept the challenge. And by the way, my name is Zodia."

Kemo led the group to a dueling field in the forest. Zodia stepped up to the blue side while Mokuba was on the red. They both drew five cards.

"Boku no turn. Draw." He studies his hand for a moment and then starts. "I activate my field magic, 'Zodiac Wheel.' I also summon 'Starsign - Pisces the Fish' in Attack Mode." The field darkened and the sky became black.

Yugi looked around. "Another shadow duel?"

"A shadow duel? No. It's just been changed to night in this field. Look." Everyone looked up to see the stars form the constellation of Pisces. "If you are all done stargazing, I set two cards and end my turn."

IC: Mokuba stood on the red end of the dueling arena, as his opponent summoned a weak 1100 ATK point monster. Although he also activated a Field Spell Card to increase his monster's ATK, he's still no match for me! Mokuba thought. "If this is how you are going to duel," Mokuba said, "This will be finished in no time at all!!!" Mokuba drew a card and looked at all of the cards in his hands. "I summon this!" Mokuba screamed. "Go Vorse Raider!" (ATK: 1900/Normal/Lvl 4) "Go, and attack his Starsign monster!" Mokuba chuckled to himself as he saw his Vorse Raider slash his monster, but was surprised that it wasn't destroyed. His opponent explained the effect of his monster, but Mokuba noticed his LP still went down. (Zodia's LP: 3700) Maybe I don't have to destroy his monsters... Mokuba thought. Just attack them with stronger ones. Eventually his Life Points will drop down to 0! "I place one card face-down and end my turn!" Mokuba said.

Zodia draws his card and begins his turn. This is the end. I activate the Spell 'Foolish Burial.' It allows me to send one monster from my deck to the graveyard."

"Why would you want to do that?" he asked, "No matter, the less monsters you have, the less you can protect yourself with."

"Be patient." He shuffled through his deck until he found a monster that he wanted, and sent it to his graveyard. "Now I activate one of my face-downs, 'Supernova.' It allows me to destroy one 'Starsign' in exchange for destroying two of your cards." Pisces transformed into a glowing sphere, and then exploded in a great flash of light. Mokuba shielded his eyes from the intense light, but when he could see again, Vorse Raider and his face-down were gone! Zodia could see that Mokuba was slightly frustrated. He continued his turn. "Since 'Pisces' was destroyed, I am permitted to call forth another Starsign, namely the one I sent to the grave earlier. 'Starsign - Taurus the Bull,' Shoukan. (ATK:2400)" The stars in the sky shifted, now forming the consellation of Taurus.

"And I still have a Normal Summon left. So, I Summon 'Starsign - Leo the Lion.' (ATK:2400)" The constellations Leo and Taurus were now both clearly visible in the night sky. Yugi and his companions gazed in awe. "The path is clear, and so I attack your Life Points directly. (Mokuba's LP: 0) Katta (I won)." The entire field cleared and Leo and Taurus disappeared.

"Fine. You guys can stay, but I'm not going to like it," Kemo grumbled. Both players came down from their pedestals. Yugi and his companions cheered.

"Hey, Zodia, why don't you join us?" said Yugi as he turned around.

"Yeah, we could use someone like you, in case Yugi gets into trouble again." said Bakura.

Zodia paused for a moment, and then spoke. "I decline." Afterwards he silently wandered off.

IC: Mitsuki said "Nice attack, but I'm not giving up yet! I draw!" He looked at his cards and said "I Summon X-Head Cannon in Attack Position and activate my face-down card, Roll Out!, and equip Y-Dragon Head to X-Head Cannon! (X-Head Cannon ATK: 2200) I then activate Burden of the Mighty! It's effect is that all of your monsters lose ATK equal to their Level multiplied by 100! (Thousand Dragon ATK: 1800) I then attack Thousand Dragon with X-Head Cannon!" X Head Cannon aimed it's cannon at Thousand Dragon and started shooting. When the shots hit Thousand Dragon, they exploded in a flash of light. When Joey could see again, his Thousand Dragon had disappeared. (Joey LP: 2800) Mitsuki said "I end my turn!" He's stronger than I expected. I'll have to be careful if I don't want to lose.
