Time to help a lot. First, they arenot splices whatsoever. Just getting that out of the way. On the lugia one, you have a random orange face, with no shading or recolored borders, and the purple fingertips look bad (the straight lines across without accounting for the slight curve or angle of the hands) with open bar... I'm sorry, I meant no recoloring.

On the Arceus one, you basically eliminated all shading and recolored all the borders black. This does not look good, as even the darkest sprites have shading and multiple colored borders.

This tutorial should help you out a lot. It's what got me started in splicing and gave me the basic skills required: http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r15/Profit_Jappio/SplicingTutorial.png?t=1220980814

Did some recoloring and whatnot to the ice hound.

The first is the original still.

I really like the second one's colors, but it doesn't really look all that vibrant, and the highlights blend with the snow a bit much.

The third one is very vibrant, but it also looks more..."watery" than ice type

p.s. how do u make it so there is no link to get to the pic??

Yeesh, buddy, this is a train wreck. First off, the arms are just a copy-paste with a horizontal flip. you never want to use the same part twice in a splice. Ever. There is no shading on the bottom of the ball and the arms, and you recolored the outer borders one solid color. That is a bad idea. YOu didn't recolor the border of the mouth so it blends in. The legs are at the wrong angle and look like they are the same part, and have bad placement and solid black borders. The Giratina wings have random cutoff at the top and the right one has a random square chunk taken off of it.

Please use this link right here for a brilliant tutorial: http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r15/Profit_Jappio/SplicingTutorial.png?t=1220980814

Ok, so you're still saving as a Jpeg. Don't do that. Save as .png. Second, you are still recoloring borders one solid color and using the same part multiple times. The arms are placed in a weird spot, and the fire has no business being there if you aren't going to adapt the whole sprite to it, like rocoloring or making it look more firey.

Dude, let me teach you how to do this without links. After you have made your splice, save it, and go to a website called tinypic. Click upload, and open the splice. Then, click upload and type in the code it shows. It will then come up with four codes. Copy the one that says forum above it. Then, simply paste it into a post. The pic will show up when you post it. Next, I have never thought putting arms on onyx is a good idea. Many have tried, and few have actually pulled it off. Now about saving as png. When you go to save as, before you hit save, look at the top of the save screen. At the end of the name of the picture, it will say either jpg, png, bmp, or so on. Make sure you save it as png, by erasing what it says at the end, and replacing it with png, if you are going to post it. If you make a picture into a card, save it as jpg. Understand?

I will say 4 is the one I like the best out of them. A quick recolor that I thought good. A blue that matches better.

Looking at it comparitively to the others, I can't decide if this one or your number 4 match better. This one could have also used just a tad more blue in it maybe.

Hadokenator 816

not bad but may i suggest that you maybe upload your pictures in png format.

I think the first one kinda seems to be the best of them.

1 yeah, but for some reason it wont work that way.

2 i kinda expected you to say that.

What do you mean "wont work that way"?

whenever i try to upload a jpeg. or jpg. or png. , on a post (not on my siggy) it keeps saying "you cannot use that image extension on this board". its been like that ever since the switch to the new board type. it only work when someone else copies the url for me, you know, like with a * in it.

Sorry to bother you, but still. Am I in?
