Third version (I'm drifting away from Wailmer, huh?)

I did this and started a scratch while setting up our new wireless

I like it. Only cc I have is that the.....well I don't want to call it a leg, but on the bottom, the left side of the ice, the left...chunk? leg? idk. but the left looks like it goes down a little far. I don't know. that might be how you want it, but it seems to throw mess up the perspective of the overall sprite for me. Otherwise nice job

The idea is suposed to be similar to that electric hound I did before (the one in my sig)

Like a super intense hound overflowing with it's given element. Its not like suposed to be a new entei or anything, just like the other one is no raikou. (I'm prolly doing poison next, not water). But yeh. What I had trouble with is the fire. I mean, the top two look good, but the left one looks too much like a souped up flareon, and the right one kinda like a beast jolteon -_-

And then the bottom two are more in the ballpark, but the fire doesn't really look like intense fire. Basically what I'm saying is that I suck at scratching fire somehow. Anyways, cc please

 

EDIT: I effectively tought myself how to scratch Fire by staring at a rapidash sprite for about 10 minutes. Basically done with it now. But its not perfect yet, so I could use some more c&c if anyone has ideas on how to improve it or if anyone sees any flaws. Thanks!

Also, which color do you think is better. With the new fire that is. I personally like the gold much better. It provides a more exciting contrast of color

What did you do with all the black borders? Also you dither a little too much, it breaks away from the Pokemon style.

 

Also fire creates light, be mindful of tat when shading.

Regarding the black borders, I just tend to try to get rid of them. Its just a preference thing. I'm not really going for the "Pokemon Style" so much as just a good general sprite. That also explains the dithering, though I should probably tone it down some. But yeh, I just don't like the black borders, though admittedly after taking a second look at the sprite I see some places where I use too light a color for too much of the border.

 

Also thanks for pointing out the fire lighting thing :D I completely didn't think of that, since I basically just did the fire over what was there, erased some old edges and re-posted it.

 

 

Okay, went back and made some changes following the things Jappio Pointed out.

1.) What I had before

2.) I fixed the shading for the fire. I think it came out nicely, though there are a few spots I still may touch up. I also greatly reduced the dithering, which looks fine to me.

3.) Took #2 and replaced much of (but not all) the black bordering that would have been there. It still looks decent to me, but I prefer the version without the black. I don't know, I just think the black looks silly.

 

Opinions, CC?

Also finished the ghost one

I simply don't like how this one came out. I should have found something better for the head >.>

No need to cc, I dislike this one so much i don't even want to go back and make it better. Its not that I think its really bad, I just don't like how it came out.

 

EDIT(again): Made some minor additions to the ghost one. Still don't like it a whole lot, but it's a little better.

(i think the reason I don't like it is because it looks more like a rodent than the dog its supposed to :P )

 

Just noticed some places behind the head and ears and whatnot that should be darker from shadorws. Will fix later

Nice spelko! I figured out what winrar's for. It stores archives on the internet. I now keep all my templates in a winrar archive, like templates and holo sheets.

 

Downloading rpg maker vx free trial now. Where do you get to it from after the free trial is downloaded? Do u just type rpg maker in the start menu?

 

Just in case I get a virus, I'm running a webroot sweep right now, so if it gives me one, it will get rid of it immedietely. It's also tested and has no spyware viruses.

ok this is a quick splice... I got bored and made something strange......

Not bad your getting better but I think the tummy is a bit blank and you have left the shading the same on every pice you used apart from that it's awesome.

Also, finalized the ghostly hound and the fire one. Fixed some shadows and the mouth on the ghost one, so now its decent, but Its still not what I had hoped. And I found a good balance for the black borders with the fire one. Places like the bottom line of its stomach where the darker colors were, and the far back leg, really did benefit from the black border, but there is still definitely less black on it than your average pokemon sprite. Anyways, unless there's some minor changes I need to make (some stray pixels are a wierd color, or something), these are basically finalized.

Hallo, ich bin neu hier, habe ich dont Spleißen eine Verbindungsstelle noch nicht fertig.

Ich habe nicht vor allem clipart. aber ich werde beginnen einige Pixel-Kunst sehr bald.

I done a scratch sprite still working on the rest for my game this one is IceQube's son "Pincicle"

The game is going to be a simple maze puzzle game. Still working on the map imaging and stuff.

currently writing it in gcc for LINUX. but will be porting it to windows after the first alpha release.
