Back to the Jumpking VS. Godpuppy debate just for a moment, I don't know what you mean by "infected." I looked at it, and what I saw was Pokemon splice. I don't get how his isn't one. There's a lot of terminology when it comes to spriting. The only time I think I've seen the word "Infected" used is to describe a special type of editing when Deoxys is involved, which I don't see in his.

 

Also I don't like either, but his has more polish and I plain like the way it looks more. I've never been a fan of Mewtwo+Deoxys+Badly added on wing type mixes.

Yeah, that's what I know an effected to be. Ultimately though even that I would consider some form of splicing, just with a very specific theme in mind. Also I don't recognize that sprite of Rayquaza. Was it scratched?

Deoxys doesnt have to be involved. An infected is when you take one pokemon, and instead of actually putting part of another pokemon on it, you just recouler the pokemon the same color as the second. It's kinda like a pokemon splice, but it's not exactly.

So the first thing I noticed is that Mewtwo's head tube interfeared with the wing. The line art on the arms seems a little weird, although I like how you attempted to edit the chest around the arm. Finally, the tail stems from the body at a weird spot, and it should wrap behind the wings based on its angle. Finally, I've got to say that you need to have less base sprite noticeable.

Go to michael's splicing shop. He has lugia and moltres infected as the example. It's kinda a mix between an advanced recouler, and a splice. It must have small parts of the second pokemon, and has to be recoulered the same color as the second pokemon.

That's still an advanced recolor. His terminology is just wrong

This is what you're talking about (I assume). I did this one a while ago, but the concept is the same

I'd still put infection is a sub-category of splicing. It involves adding features of one Pokemon to another.

Be careful there. I just not too long ago got someone banned because he spliced my sprites without permission or credit. You should in the very least credit the wonderful artist.

I've never spliced sprites people have made... I think it's because there is less of a commercial feel from hobbyist sprites...

Hmm... Let's see... Border recoulers are good... Recoulering is good... Maybe you could've added a bit more latios. That's just my opinion. I think when there's only like two pokemon, it should be about half and half. Or at least close.

The wings don't look like they're attached, you should either scratch parts so it connects to the back or partially reshade the arms so it attaches there.

First of all, you need to SAVE AS .PNG! we can't stress enough how important this is. Jpeg images are compressed whereas PNG is completely uncompressed. Next, you have either no shading, no borders, no border recoloring, parts aren't recolored, stuff looks very cluttered. You should look up Jappio's tutorial, it'll get you some basic skills
