Wasn't this game supposed to have a bigger roster list that SSF4? (which is like 42)

 

A friend of mine has Marvel V Capcom 2 and enjoyed it, but didn't like the epic spamming of AKuma-Warmachine-Iron Man tags online. Sentinel was slightly balanced in 2. He had high ATK, but was SLOW!!!!

 

I was hopeing for an EPIC Lifebar duel between Deadpool and Dante!!! It would have been lulz!!!! Do they still have the helper bot things in there??? That was a constant source of lulz.

 

Sentinel was the most broken character in 2.

No one uses Akuma, Wolverine and War Machine online. Just Sentinel, Storm and Magneto.

Also, why would Dante use a life bar beatdown move? He's far too serious of a character to do anything like that. Deadpool's random and it fits him perfectly.

Super Street Fighter 4 has 35. This game has 36 (soon to be 38). No one said how much bigger the roster would be compared to SSF4. :D

 

Also, Sentinel was even less balanced in 2 than he is in 3.

Dormammu is a control freak. He's got moves that are designed to force your opponent into areas you want them to be in, and be an all around jerk.

 

Sentinel, Storm, Magneto, the most broken team EVER for 2.

 

Servbots are part of Tron's schtick. She uses them in combat.

Also, if you think these Missions are difficult, you ought to try another Fighting Game's Mission Mode. That stuff makes your fingers bleed.

olawd. If I was you, I'd try putting Magneto in the team you mentioned. I'm thinking Dante/Akuma/Magneto would work pretty well.

I think I've found a team that works for me best right now:

 

Dante / Spencer / Storm

 

Will continue to experiment. Spencer and Dante are the two that are guaranteed. The third spot alternates, but I am looking for a decent projectiler. Still trying to get the hang of Magneto at the recommendation of Kokonoe.

Shuma's becoming one of the main characters used online from my experience, which I'm really not liking.

Jill's actually decent but a lot of people can't be bothered to put the time in to learn her.

Sentinel's not even being used any more. xD

 

So yeah, teams have changed quite a lot now. No more Sents, woo.

See personally I think Sent got over nerfed. Not only is it odd that this huge ass robot has a bit more HP than Felicia, it makes one of the things that was "balancing" him a huge disadvantage since he's just as easy to combo only he dies super fast to it. Really, more then 1/4 of his HP was to much. Personally it would have been better with a HP cut to 1,100,000 and a power drop to Haggar or Dooms level. But what do I know.

I think the Gorath fad will die down. ATM I think he's big because he's a cool new character. Given a couple weeks odds are he won't be as common. The 900,000 he has right now is actually really pitiful. I can take him out in like 1 or 2 combos and it's hilarious. Also, at your nerf, I think that would have to be tested a bit before any judgement could be made. Still seems as if his combos could go 1.5mil still.

 

Jill's decent. I mean, you can Arrow Kick into Raven Kick, Somersault into Raven Kick, S into Gun Super and all of that stuff. But eh, her transformation really sucks.

 

Nah, Gorath's a really pro ranger with MYSTIC STARE and Ray, honestly. I feel he'll become a good projectile character to keep in a team and we'll see a lot of play with him still. I'm not really going to be seeing him going down, either. He combos like crazy with Mystic Smash.

So, just a question for everyone. How are we all doing with Event Mode? I know for a fact I've pretty much beaten most of the challenges... It's not even that difficult. Easy way to get 17 more titles.

I think he can keep the power at the current level, though I agree with cutting it down to 1,100,000 or even a solid million.

The big think I see about Sentinel now is that with the massive health slash, assist is now very life-threatening, since it's easy to take advantage of a mistimed Sentinel assist and take him down due to him being freaking gigantic. This is only from the point of view of someone who doesn't even own the game, though, so feel free to ignore what I have to say.

This is one kick ass game. The combos are just fantastic and mind blowing. But I hate the people that use cheap characters like Magneto or Sentinel, not to mention the people that use these guys are complete ass wipes -.-, but I still win. I like the new characters Capcom and Marvel brought into this one like Tron, Wesker, and Chris. But, the roster is pretty damn shocking though because they removed a handful of fan favorites like Mega Man or Gambit. Nevertheless Deadpool and Dante made it into the game so I'm completely fine with the roster change up.

 

I've heard quite a few rumors about there being a Frank West DLC or Chuck Greene DLC both from the Dead Rising series. That makes sense because Frank West was in the roster in the early development of the game but was scrapped for reasons I do not know. Also Silver Surfer is another choice because he was again suppose to be in the roster but was scrapped because his surfboard was too big I believe.

 

Oh and here are my suggestions for character combos, I use these guys a ton.

X-23

Ryu

3rd selection is a pick of your choice (I prefer Dante though because his combos are pretty damn easy)

 

I like X-23 in this factor because she is really fast and strong, also she is probably the best character to launch your opponents into the air. But her Ultra Hyper combo is pretty confusing but her speed makes up for it..

 

Ryu is also a good because he can use his Super Move in the air (the Kamehame Hadouken ) also he lasts on the field for a long time

 

 

[spoiler= Mix Up]These guys are a mix up for Air combos and for hit and run situations.

X-23

Deadpool

Dante

 

Again X-23 is one of the best characters in the game because of her ass kicking speed and strength.

 

Deadpool because he is a hit and run time character when you jump back you can throw a net or a grenade down to slow your opponent. Not to mention those pretty cheap ass guns he shoots. He is a good pick because he can even the score when your losing to your opponent. Also he can use the Gun Hyper combo in the air.

 

Dante because again his combos are pretty easy like the Guitar Rift to the Gun Nunchaku to his Gun Hyper combo, then you can quickly switch out to Deadpool with his Hyper combo, and if your Opponent is still standing use X-23 to finish them off. This combo takes a huge chunk of life from your opponents. Oh and he is quite of a surprise character because his Guitar Rifts look like they come out of nowhere.

Ryu because his combos are pretty basic but he's strong and you can use his Kamehame Hadouken to your advantage

Akuma is like a 2nd Ryu but his 3rd Hyper combo is unblockable and that takes about 3/4s of health (Depending on the Handicap) from one of your opponents character.

Sentinel's not cheap, he's terrible now. No one uses him any more; with the newest balance patch knocking his damage down as well as his health a little bit, he's beyond terrible. =/

 

Also, I'm just saying that Akuma and Ryu on a team don't tend to work well together imho.

So today, I went to an MvC3 tournament... I saw a lotta Tron, Haggar, Sentinel and Amaterasu.

 

I had entered with my team of Dormammu, Trish and Morrigan, and I did somewhat decent, but the janky controllers the store had kinda threw me off. First round I beat a team of Amaterasu, Wolverine and Sentinel piloted by one of the event organizers, so I was pretty proud of myself. But 2nd round I lost to a team of Hulk, Sent and Tron because I lost my cool at the controller being unresponsive. =/

In the loser's bracket, I won the first round against Ammy, Zero and Dante, but then again lost to a team of Tron, Sent and Akuma. D=

I think it's a pretty fun game. At my school someone's always bringing the XBox and MvC3 to play in the Game Room, so there's always matched to be had. =D
