Not really sure if this goes here or not, but I guess I may as well crituqe it anyway:

 

First off you have 4 pokemon on your team weak to ice, 3 of 4x weak. You have 3 grass moves on your Shaymin which is just unessicary. Your torterra should have WoodHammer and Earthquake over special moves. Your Salamence has 3 Dragon moves, 2 of them are special and not Draco Meteor. Empoleon has 3 water moves, when it only really needs Surf. Sky attack on Altaria is just crappy. Also an Eevee? Seriously you didn't evolve it? There is more too say, but I'm lazy. Anyway you didn't post natures or EV spreads so I guess this is your in-game team so it really doesn't matter anyway

I recommend turning Evee into Umbreon because of the psychic abilities. Since you already have Salamence for a flying pokemon, swap out Altaria for another one, Infernape if possible. What Lucan said about Torterra, and try to get something to replace waterfall on Empoleon, maybe an ice beam or aurora blast/beam (whichever one it is, not sure if Empoleon can learn it though.). That's what I would do with that team.

Now about your team,

 

Empoleon - I honestly am at a loss here, but take out all the physical moves, since it is better in Sp. Atk. Keep surf and hydro pump

 

Torterra - you will be better off teaching it Earthquake and Wood Hammer, Crunch can stay and the last move is up to you.

 

Shaymin - I see no problem with this, but you should probably put something to counter its weaknesses.

 

Eevee - at this level, you can only get the first 3 evolutions. So try Jolteon or Flareon.

 

Altaria - This is a hard one, considering it is average in both Atk and Def, the best solution might be replacing it with a type you haven't covered already

 

Salamence - Since a Salamence is good in attack, remove the Dragonbreath and Dragon Pulse for Crunch and if you have the TM, Stone Edge. Or if you're willing to train another Salamence, get one with Dragon Rush by breeding.

I think his team is actually quite decent.

 

He has a mix of both special and physical attackers, and not to mention his Altaria makes a very decent wallbreaker with her moveset. He also has two Sandstorm immunities and only two Pokemon weak to SR (Altaria and 'Mence). While he does have three double Ice-type weaknesses, he has Empoleon to cover for that, sporting what I believe to be a double Ice-type resistance. Overall it is a very good team.

Sorry to say but the team is terrible.

 

Some basic rules when making a team.

 

1) A pokemon should never have 2 moves of the same type. Their are some times you can break this rule, but it's a basic rule of thumb.

 

2) Having pokemon that share a type only works if they have different weakness. An example is the following.

 

Gyarados and Empoleon. While they share and electric weakness they cover each others other weakness (Emp's Fighting and Ground and Gyara's Rock). Coving an Electric weakness is easy by adding a Ground type.

 

Your team has 4 pokemon all weak to Ice, one of the most common attacking types in the game. Not only that but the all repeat types, Sal and Alt are Dragon/Flying while Sya and Tor are both Grass. Emp covers the weakness but should you loss it your as good as done.

 

3) Take advantage of your pokemons higher stats. Sal has much high Atk then Sp ATK so it should only use Special based attacks if it's running a special set, or the move is named Draco Meteor or Fire Blast. The same goes for Tor and Emp

 

4) Eevee. What? Yea, you might like Eevee, but it's just not good. Evolve it into a Jolteon or Vaporeon. Jolt is better since you need and Eletric type and you already have a Water.

 

5) Loss Alt, it doesn't help your team at all since Sal does everything it can do. Tor or Shay should also be dropped. However if you wish to keep them by all means.

 

Try these sets

Emp: Surf/Gras Knot/Ice Beam/Roar

Sal: Draco Meteor/Fire Blast/Brick Break/Roost

Jolt: Thunderbolt/Shadow Ball/Charge Beam/Protect (I can't think of a better move)

Shay: Seed Flare/Earth Power/Air Slash/Leech Seed

Tor: Earthquake/Stone Edge/Wood Hammer/Crunch (why doesn't it have Earthquake?)

Flareon is garbage. It just isn't a good pokemon.

Dragon Rush is a bad move. Outrage is much better.
