Ah, it is that time again. I have come out of retirement, again, to polish up my card making skills. Today's challenge is Azrael.

2. ATK must not exceed 1000

3. DEF must not exceed 3000

4. Must have a Synchro Killing effect

5. Must have a flip effect

6. Must be a level 7 monster

7. First to 9 votes wins

8. Winner recieves 2 Reps from the Loser

I vote for Azrael. Azrael's effect is far more useful, providing a blanket Synchro (and Fusion) nuke upon its demise. Although Striker's card is mildly more creative (and balanced...2900 DEF is rather too high), it isn't a Flip Effect. It's a Trigger effect.

I will vote for Azrael mainly because War Torn's effect is technically a Trigger effect and not a Flip Effect.

 

Although it destroys all Synchroes/Fusions upon being flipped up, the non-attack effect balances it out.

In case no one has gotten it yet. My flip effect is a new breed of it. I did a little experimenting with it. Well, I might need to fix the wording for the next one.

Striker, your effect is nothing new. Look at "Swarm of Scarabs", "Stealth Bird" etc.

WarTorn because of the 2nd effect. k guys, thats an awesome effect. Its not overpowered, and is a great center piece of a rock-based deck.

For everyone that says 2900 DEF is too much, I don't see how 3000 ATK on Blue-Eyes White Dragon is any more balanced especially since my creature can't attack, has no reason to be in attack position, and doesn't create a field-altering effect while out (making him perfectly destroyable once his effect triggers). There are 1 tribute monsters with 3000 DEF, so 2900 seems fine for a 2 tribute monster. If you disagree, please post why.

Having "FLIP:" makes it no less creative than not having it, especially since "FLIP:" is technically the only way to have a "flip effect". Besides, my effect has more than just "FLIP:". "This card cannot attack" is not part of the FLIP effect. ;)

My vote goes to Azrael. Simple yet devastatingly effective when used correctly. That and it finally gives FLIP effects a reason to exist again.
