IDK; I like Halo. On the other hand, I hate the GTA series, so I don't think I can be trusted with mainstream non-strategy gaming. >.>

 

Revelation of Procella

 

Touhou Project: It's cooler than you. Better music than any other video game except maybe Sonic and Legend of Zelda, better gameplay, story, and characters than any other shmup ever... and it's all done by one person. The only thing he can't do is draw portraits, and he's got Tasogare Frontier and a million and three doujin artists to take care of that for him.

 

Worst Game Ever: Eh, prolly GTA3 for me, since everyone else likes it and I don't take pleasure in wanton destruction. I'd say Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing, except honestly, who doesn't like Big Rigs?

Your the first person I know who dosent like GTA but everyone is intitled to their opinion. I hate must movie games (example

"Where the Wild Things Are) must of those type of games are terrable. I also dont like racing game (examples Need for Speed, Grand Turismo, I dont like those) but I do like kart games (examples Mario Kart and Mod Nation Racers, I like those) but Blur is a mixture of Kart and Racing but I think I would like it.

Well, as far as GTA goes, it fails completely in terms of plot, likable characters, a sense of accomplishment ever... Those things are much more important to me than blowing stuff up.

 

Also, remember Touhou, a few posts up? There are, like, three members on this forum who reference it in their profile? It spawned a doujin called Labyrinth of Touhou, a shameless ripoff of Etrian Oddysey (Labyrinth of Yggdrasil in Japanese). It's better than the original (if only because it doesn't try to be tedious), its items are what would happen if Disgaea got even more obscure in its references, and, being on the sixteenth of twenty plot-relevant floors myself, I can safely say that the plot is awesome too. Oh, and the combat system is so awesome that random encounters are a lot of fun, to say nothing of the standout bosses (Alice, the Eientei Trio, Yuyuko, and Mokou come to mind, and I'm certain Yukari will be equally epic), so what little level grinding that's necessary through the perfectly paced puzzles is tolerable anyway. It has good artwork (Yukari excepted), a good sense of humor, and thirty floors, each containing massive expanses of content with bosses ranging from famous shmup extra bosses (Master Light Wings E.V.D. comes to mind) to the playable character in roguelike games. And it was all produced... as a doujinshi, meaning it had zero budget and no ties to gaming companies.

 

It's a doujin of a doujin and it's still the best strategy game I've ever played, except maybe Fire Emblem.
