Soulcalibur: The Third Blade

OOC Thread
Centuries ago, there were two swords. One born from corruption, the other created to stop the other.

The Evil Sword, Soul Edge, had once been a simple iron blade. But after being bathed in blood and killing countless people, it gained a soul a dark and wicked creature calling itself Inferno. Only one man had the strength of will to hold off the dark powers of Inferno and Soul Edge. This man was Algol the first and only true wielder of the blade.

But the power was too strong and soon it infected Algol's son, Arcturus, who stole the evil blade from his father. Algol was forced to kill Arcturus and in his grief created the spirit Sword, Soul Calibur.

Soul Calibur was created to stop Soul Edge if ever someone wanted its powers, and over the centuries it fulfilled this job.

But in the year 1584, a new journey began. Soul Calibur didn't awaken as it should have done and the Cursed Sword was taken from its host, the Dreaded pirate Cervantes de Leon, by Siegfried Schtauffen. He became The Azure Knight, Nightmare, and terrorized the world with his power. It was at this point that Soul Calibur awakened and many warriors searched for the power of the two blades.

You are one of these warriors, but what are your reasons for following the blades?

Do wish to possess them for power?

Do you wish to destroy the Evil Blade to create peace?

Or is there another reason?

Whatever your reasons. Choose your weapon, make your allies and follow your story.
When Siegfried released the Evil Seed, a number of strange things happened. Many people turned into insane, murderous beasts that terrorised the world. The force of the Evil Seed was felt throughout time and space. A number of heroes and villains from all of history and even from other galaxies and dimensions appeared. Even rips in the fabric of reality occurred. And it was one of these rips that caused the creation of The Third Blade.

A follower of the Dark Arts, named Alexander and who lived in a forgotten fortress in a remote corner of the world, was contemplating suicide. He had recently lost everything, all of his money, all of his servants and all of his family and yet he didn’t know how. He held a blade to his chest and was about to push the sharp point into his body when a crack appeared in his hall. It wasn’t a crack in the ceiling or floor, but in the very air itself.

Intrigued as to what it was he held out his hand and merely brushed the outside of the crack. A wave of knowledge hit him, he knew so much more than he had a moment before. And he also saw things that he couldn’t possibly have seen. He saw the Soul Edge and the Soul Calibur and the creation of the Soul Embrace at the hands of Siegfried. And the final thing that he saw was the origin of the crack. It was a break in time and space and a hole in the dimensions, a hole into Chaos.

Alexander also saw how he could get everything back. He needed the power locked inside the Soul Embrace and the way to get it had been given to him on a silver platter. He needed another power source to find and then break the Embrace. And so he set about creating another sword, A Third Blade. He siphoned off Chaos and placed it into his last possession in the entire world, a simple iron short sword.

The blade grew in power and gained a Soul just like the other two blades.

This was the start of something dangerous, but Alexander didn’t know it…

Name: Nightmare

Aliases: The Azure Knight
Nightmare1.jpg

Age: n/a

Nationality: na

Weapon: Soul Edge

Weapon Name: Soul Edge

Personality: Insane and Murderous, Nightmare will do anything to resurrect the full power of Soul Edge.

Any Other Information: Nightmare used to be Siegfried, but after Siegfried was able to escape Soul Edge’s control he lost his body. But the sorcerer Zasalamel resurrected Nightmare and placed the spirit inside the Azure Armour Siegfried once wore. Now Nightmare is his own being wielding the Soul Edge.
He felt an immense surge of power as he plunged through Chaos. Nightmare could feel the energy it held coursing through himself and the Wicked Blade, Soul Edge. This was his dimension, his true home. But here, there was nothing to feast on, no souls to feed him or the sword. Nightmare would survive, but it would be a meaningless existence. A thought whispered in his head. It was the memory of how he had fallen into Chaos.

He had arrived at a lone cathedral in the middle of nowhere. The feeling of Soul Edge had pulled him to this place, had made him follow his former host Siegfried who was carrying the blade and its counterpart Soul Calibur. Nightmare was standing in a hall, a beautiful vista stretched out before him and water cascaded all around. Siegfried had already arrived and the Soul Embrace was with him.

“He we are Siegfried, I will take my sword back,” Nightmares gruff voice echoed around the cavernous space, “And then I will take your soul once again!”

Nightmares memories faded and he could feel the pull of Chaos fading as well. He opened his eyes and he could see colours. Not just the dark blacks and reds of Chaos, but grey and blue. The sword was pulling him back into the world to finish what he had started. Nightmare reached out his hand and all around him turned solid. He was back in Ostrheinsburg castle, his former stronghold. The Evil blade spoke to him.

Nightmare. The time is coming. My sister and the host must be destroyed. Only then can we begin!

All of these physical qualities are traits that he has acquired because of the chaos seeping into his fortress.

His clothing is mostly dark. He wears a black suit with a bright red shirt and a black tie. His shoes are always shining and are in stark contrast to the matte black of his other clothing. The only thing that really looks out of place on him is the sword attached to his waist. The sheath it sits in is bright silver in colour.

Alexander never saw the man again, but he took up his advice and began to study. He heard of a group of people living in the east that could use the dark arts with extreme ease and so he set off to find them. During his journey Alexander grew ill and collapsed in a forest. When he awoke he was being cared for by a family. They looked after him until he grew strong enough to leave, but because of their kindness and the relationship that he had with their daughter, Elizabeth, Alexander stayed. He and Elizabeth fell in love and were going to get married, but Elizabeth’s family couldn’t afford it. It was at this time that he received a message that his parents had died in a fire. He had received their entire fortune and he was now extremely wealthy. He and Elizabeth got married as soon as they could and with the money that he now had, Alexander bought a nearby castle. It had been Elizabeth’s dream to live like a princess in a castle and now her entire family could do just that.
Name: Kirimono Makuta Murusaga

Aliases: Kirimono/Makuta
animepix-20.jpg

Without the sword.

Age: 27

Nationality: Czechoslovakia

Weapon: Longsword

Weapon Name: Alondite, meaning Blade of 10,000 Stars.

Personality: Selfless, caring and loyal. Would only fight when he has no choice. If it is a fight to the death, he would sacrifice himself for friends and loved ones.
The day Soul Edge began to attack his home city was right after Kirimono was born. He was given his name right before Soul Edge unleashed its attack on its city. Kirimono was the only survivor. 5 hours later, an old man by the name of Makuta came to his aid, being another survivor. He was young for his age. He was only 52, but he was still able to handle himself, for he was a swordsman. He decided to have his name as Kirimono's middle name, when he becomes "In Memory".

For the last 18 years, when he was able to move and think on his own, Makuta had trained him with the uses of swords. Longswords to be exact. When he was near the end of his training, Makuta spoke of Soul Edge. He explained what had happened that faithful day in Czechoslovakia. Kirimono could not believe it. His parents were murdered by a mere sword. But it was corrupted. Only one could have wielded that sword, the Azure Knight, Nightmare.

The next day, he was told of Soul Calibur, the sword said to be the opposite of Soul Edge, the sword that is destined to destroy Soul Edge. It was said that there were many attempts of Soul Calibur trying to destroy Soul Edge, but every one failed. He knows of one who can wield such a blade. The Azure Knight's past host, Siegfried Schtauffen.

Makuta knew Kirimono was ready. When he knew of such, he fell to the ground. The old man told him to take the sword he used to kill a king in an unknown city. It was the Alondite. He told him to use it, now that he was ready. To use it on Soul Edge and finally destroy it, bringing vengeance to his family. And with that, Makuta died.

Kirimono knew that one day that he would be ready to wield such a sword. A sword of Light. One that, combined with Soul Calibur, will not destroy Soul Edge, but the soul within it, bringing Nightmare to nothingness and Siegfried free of his curse. It would also mean peace for the world. He is his own Nationality now. He will bring an end to Soul Edge once and for all. He then spoke these words:

When there is Light,

There is Darkness.

When there is Peace,

There is Chaos as well.

Although Light and Darkness are what make up this world,

Peace is the one thing that will never come to be.

Light, the goodness of the very soul;

Darkness, the badness that consumes it.

He shall get vengeance on Soul Edge. Nothing, nor nobody, is going to stop him from completing his task, destroying the soul within Soul Edge so it can be used as a normal sword once again and bring peace within the very world and the souls of all who live upon it.
Name: Galen Marek

Aliases: Starkiller
Galen_dual.png

Upper Body without Cloak:

the+force+unleashed+2+teaser.jpg

Age: 18

Nationality: Coruscanti (In our world, he would be Western European, most likely British; however, his voice is American-sounding)

Weapon: Dual Lightsabers

Weapon Name: Unnamed

Personality: Galen grew up under Vader's thumb and is used to having orders to follow. However, he is also fiercely protective of any person he forms a friendship with, and will destroy cities for their sake. Galen is always hungry for more knowledge, but he is also intelligent and can quickly analyze a situation. Virtually nothing this world has to offer scares him, as Galen knows that little threat is posed to him by all but the strongest of this world's warriors.

Any Other Information: Starkiller is aware that this world is in another galaxy, and as a result has decided to limit his use of the force to avoid causing too great disruption. He will not be throwing buildings around or tearing apart cities with ease, but if pressed he will increase his use of his powers to protect his own life or that of an ally.

The weapons of those with strong souls (In other words, the majority of characters in this RP) will not be cut through by lightsabers. The lightsabers will still cut through other solid objects and armor, barring extenuating circumstances.
Galen tugged at the edge of his hood, making sure it was secure. He felt the comforting weight of his lightsabers at his waist, safely fastened to his belt. His cloak was tied around him, but it would only take .43 seconds to pull them from his waist and activate them if he used his telekinesis. Besides, nobody in this city really posed a threat to him.

Galen stepped out of the rain into what appeared to be a gathering place of sorts. He was still trying to grasp the foreign text of this world, but from the demeanors of this place's inhabitants and the... smells, he could tell that this was the equivalent of a cantina. He took an empty seat at the bar, feeling for a dry section with his fingertips before settling his arms on the wooden surface. "Barkeep," Galen called, still thankful that he'd somehow landed on a world that used Basic, "Tell me about this city."

The bartender turned to face Galen, an annoyed expression on his face. Galen could tell the man wasn't going to be compliant. "No."

Galen mentally rolled his eyes, exerting a small amount of force influence over the man's mind. Fortunately, the fool had sampled a little too much of his own product this evening, and his mind was pliable as the cloth Galen wore. "Tell me where we are," Galen instructed, subtly waving a hand as he exerted his force abilities over the man.

The barkeep turned back to Galen. "We're in London, at the Drunken Sheep tavern." Galen waved his hand again, pressing for more information. "We're in the country of England, in the continent of Europe."

"Anything of interest happen recently around here?" Galen asked.

The barkeep leaned in to whisper, cupping a hand around the side of his mouth. "I heard that Lady Isabella Valentine's gone missing." Galen tensed at the name, which brought back memories of an ivory-haired woman with a sword-whip. "They say she's chasing after the Cursed Sword."

"Cursed... Sword?"

"Aye, a blade said to give one the power of a god. Many great fighters across this world chase after it, though some deem it a myth. Others say it's wielded by a demon in a suit of azure armor." More memories shot through Galen, this time an image of a blue demon knight wielding a gigantic red sword with a single, unblinking eye.

"Hey, Barkeep!" A drunk man stumbled into the bar, slamming his glass down beside Galen's hand and leaning on Galen for support. "Another round."

Galen turned his head to face the man. "Get off of my shoulder."

The drunk turned to face Galen. "Or else what?" Galen rolled his eyes, his left hand shooting across the bar to seize the man's mug. He tore the mug from the man's hand and cracked the glass cup across the man's face, throwing it to the side as he drove an elbow into his ribcage. Seizing the man's throat, Galen lifted him from his chair, throwing him over the bar. As the man smashed into a wall covered with overpriced liquor bottles, Galen rose smoothly from his seat, turning to leave the bar. It was time to chase down the demon in the Azure armor. Maybe then he could remember what had happened the last time he'd been here.
Galen was born to a pair of Jedi who eloped in the aftermath of the Clone Wars. He lived on Kashyyyk for the first few years of his life, until Darth Vader located his father, Kento (Galen's mother Mallie was killed years earlier by Trandoshan Slavers). Vader came to Kashyyyk seeking Kento's death, but in his battle with the Jedi, Vader found something much more valuable: an Apprentice.

Vader took Galen back to the Emperor, and the two devised a plan to use the boy as an assassin and a weapon. Vader raised the boy and trained him, pretending he was plotting the Emperor's downfall. The boy, who Vader codenamed "Starkiller", proved stronger than Vader could have imagined. Vader used the boy as a blunt force object for years, sending him on various missions. One of these involved the investigation of a wormhole at the galaxy's edge, which took Galen to the world of the Soul Swords. Galen attempted to track Soul Edge without causing too much disruption, but was unable to track the sword before Algol's disappearance, at which point Nightmare fell off the grid once again. Galen served Vader until the age of 17, at which point anti-Imperial sentiment was mounting. Vader and the Emperor devised yet another plot, pretending to betray the boy and using him to gather the Rebels. Vader and the Emperor tracked him and captured the Rebels, taking them to the unfinished Death Star for execution. However, Galen chased them down, annihilated their forces, bested Vader in combat, and fought the Emperor off long enough for the Rebels to make their escape.

Galen was nearly killed in the process; however, he managed to enter a Meditative Trance subconsciously. Vader and the Emperor used the force to wipe the boy's memory, taking him to Kamino. They decided to deceive him yet again, the latest falsehood being that he was a clone of the original Galen. Vader trained him further, increasing the boy's powers and using him as an assassin once again. The Emperor ordered Vader to turn the boy loose, hoping to use him as a rallying point for the Rebels so they could be exterminated once and for all.

Galen's memories, including his original name, were gradually returning, though he was told by Vader they were hallucinations. As he wandered the galaxy in search of the Rebels, he found another wormhole. This brought back old memories, and he decided to investigate. Little did he know that his old master was also on this world, searching for the Swords...
Name: Anakin Skywalker

Aliases: Darth Vader, Lord Vader
vader.jpg

Age: Unknown, 30-60 range

Nationality: Tatooite (Tatooine)

Weapon: Lightsabre (Djem So Style)

Weapon Name: None

Personality: Darth Vader is nothing like he was as a Padawan. Broken by betrayal and the loss of his beloved, he is filled with anger and spite, making him easily manipulated by Emperor Palpatine. He is ruthless and incredibly loyal to the Dark Side, he shows no mercy to anyone who would be foolish enough to stand in his way.

Any Other Information: He is a guest character in Soul Calibur 4.
Vader walked the halls of a vast temple. He had made his presence known in the region, so simply walking into the temple made everyone inside hide in fear. He had sensed a being strong in the Force in the temple and Vader knew that he will know something of the powerful Force of the dark side he felt tingling in the air of this planet. His respirator and the echoing of his heavy boots clacking on the marble floor were the only sounds in the whole temple, creating strange echos.

Then, a group of ten monks in orange garb charged Vader, wielding spears and shovels, shouting the name of their god for courage. Vader drew his lightsaber in an instant and cut three of them in a single swipe, cutting clean through their wooden weapons and their torsos. The top halves of the three monks fell to the ground with a thump, making the rest hesitate. Vader waved his hand and the rest of the monks went flying into the walls of the temple, destroying relics of all kinds. Vader simply put away his lightsabre and continued walking as if nothing had happened.

The deeper he went, he felt a being of the Force get closer and closer until he reached a large wooden door. Vader waved his hand and the door clicked open, opening to a large sanctum with a statue of a god in the middle. Next to the statue, he saw an old monk sitting on the floor next to the statue, making a humming noise. He was the source of the Force in this temple and Vader was determined to find out more about this world.

"You. Tell me about the dark side that exists on this planet," Vader asked with a forceful voice. The monk stopped humming and got up, his old joins creaking under the weight.

"Why would you kill us, dark spirit? We are but mere monks, followers of the Middle Path," the monk asked without addressing the question Vader asked. The monk shuffled to a staff resting on a pillar and leaned on it.

"Tell me about the dark side," Vader repeated himself.

"Yes, there is a darkness growing in the world. Violence is spreading everywhere, war is like a plague. Such violence saddens Amida Buddha. Dark spirit, you would stop your unwholesome ways and join in worship of Amida Buddha, you too can achieve nirvana," the monk continued, seeming to ignore Vader. Vader had enough of the old man's babble and drew his lightsabre. He threw it using the force at the monk, but somehow he used his staff to deflect it, sending it back at Vader, who caught it in his hand.

Vader charged forward and slashed at the monk repeatedly. The monk somehow kept deflecting Vader's blade, but as soon as his guard was down, Vader put out his hand and made a squeezing gesture. The old monk grabbed his throat, making gagging sounds as his face slowly turned purple as she slowly rose higher in the air. After about two minutes of this, Vader released the monk, letting his lifeless body hit the ground. Vader then slowly walked out, the same stillness returning to the temple.
Name: Themis Kawaii Maximus

Aliases: Themis
anime-girl.jpg

Age: Fourteen

Nationality: Egyptian/Japanese
57e324844c0c21f871286a521369f34e.jpg

Weapon Name: Shinda Fumetsu

Personality: She used to like fighting, but being stuck in a world where the only rule is Live or Die would make any child scared. Even so, she's been taught to always be confident in any fight, confidence makes you stronger, while fear makes you weaker. She's a bit of a tomboy as well. And also a bit embarrassed that she has to wear school clothes for the entire journey.
Themis's entire life was as normal as any other school girl, as normal as it could be, she practiced sword-fighting with her literally ageless father Protheus, trying to master his Yami sword style, a unique style her father had conceived. But one day, she had a dream. Someone appeared in her dream, holding a strange sword, then two others appeared with more strange swords. The three of them clashed, and the dream ended. The next day, her father appeared to her, shortly after she had changed into her school clothes. He gave her his sword and told her to go to the fountain, and just skip school. She obeyed, and went to fountain on the back of the house.

There she encountered an ancient metallic fragment. This shard was a piece of Soul Edge, but she didn't know that. She just knew she had to get it . Grabbing the fragment, she accidentally cut his fingertip; and after a moment of dizziness passed, Themis looked around at her surroundings. A feeling of uneasiness washed over her as she was no longer at her mansion. She had been at just a few moments ago. She was stunned, but nevertheless remained collected. After she wandered for a while, she concluded that she was no longer in modern day Japan, or possibly even in her own dimension. Then, her father appeared to her in a ghost-like form and told her about the story of Soul Edge. Though she wanted to return to her own time and space, part of her was trembling with anticipation of what was about to transpire. The history behind the fragment, which was ripe with battles between warriors fighting for its possession. Now, she was right in the midst of it all. Her father told her to find Soul Edge, Soul Calibur, and Soul Nought. She couldn't return home without them.

Ater that, her father told Themis her sword's name. He also told her that his original style, the Yami style, should be enough to face almost any opponent, as the Yami style is a style never witnessed before, and thus shouldn't have a made counter at this time and space. And thus, he sent her on the journey, all alone, and disappeared before she could ask him her How, Where, Why, When, Who, and What questions.
Name: Misao Kusakabe

Aliases: The Tempest

misao.jpg
misaosc.jpg

If you can't see it, she wears a pirate hat with a skull and crossed sword pattern, a black bra with a black vest over it, a pair of slack pants, heavy black leather gloves and knee high boots.

Age: 17

Nationality: Japanese

Weapon: Nunchaku

Weapon Name: Viper

Personality: Misao was always energetic and out-going, being much more athletic than academic. She had an attachment to Ayano Minegishi, her lifetime friend, but when she was separated, her psyche overcompensated the void with explicit lesbianism, clearly showing her affections for other women. Being a pirate, she has a great deal of fearlessness when going against a larger foe, often going into pure recklessness, such as charging at foes with bows or muskets. She's not the brutal style of pirate, often opting for tying up her victims with enough supplies to get them back to shore while taking everything else.
Misao was originally a simple high school student attending Ryoo High School, living the normal life of an athletic high schooler. She was aiming for an athletic scholarship for a university, but in her final year in high school while on a run, she encountered a strange rip in the air contained within a garbage can. Being her reckless self, she jumped in and was thrown into the world of the clashing swords.

Her body was greatly affected by the transit to the new world, giving her increased physical traits, especially her agility, endurance and healing. At first she exploited her new found abilities to start as a petty thief, but when she stole a small merchant ship, she started a life as a pirate, gathering a small but skilled crew of both men and women, totalling six crew in total. Only a few months into her new life, she realized how much she had loved her friend Ayano and had a deep hollow feeling in her heart. She compensated by looking for her friend in other women, having illicit affairs with two of her crew members, both female.

When Soul Edge started to afflict the world, Misao realized that if there was no merchant ships, her way of life would not last. For the sake of her newfound way of life, she started to track down Soul Edge to destroy it.

ayanosc.jpg If you can't see, she is wearing a light purple decorated hat, a purple frilled shirt, a purple skirt with stockings and high boots.

Age: 17

Nationality: Japanese

Weapon: Rapier

Weapon Name: Unicorn

Personality: Ayano is a reserved kind of person who is also caring and attentive. She was always seen with Misao, keeping her reckless friend in check. After she was forced into the world of clashing swords, she also felt a void that was originally filled by Misao. As a result, she now has an obsessive need to care for something. This is why she is often seen with a kitten in her arms.
Ayano was a normal high schooler until her best friend Misao Kusakabe went mysteriously missing. She was the first to start a search for her friend and continued searching long after all others have given up the search. She developed a denial system, where she would substitute animals or even objects for Misao, slowly slipping into madness. Then, while on a shopping trip, she saw a strange shimmering in an alleyway. She wandered into and found herself in medieval England. She was captured by xenophobic villagers, but was saved last minute by an English noble who found her attractive. She was made into a bride and forcibly made the wife of this noble. She did not enjoy the noble's company, but she was forced to stay for her own safety. This changed when she saw a wanted poster for a woman that looked exactly like Misao. She escaped from the noble's guards and went out into the world, searching for her friend.

Alexander reached out his hand and grabbed the blade that he had began creating all those years ago. He felt a surge of energy flow through his arm and into his chest. He recognised it as the energy that inhabited Chaos, but it was so much stronger, the power it contained was so much more potent. It almost felt like it would burn his heart. He pulled it from the holder that kept it in place as Chaos energy was poured into it and swung it around like the weapon it was supposed to be.

Alexander could tell that it was no ordinary weapon. It was now a weapon with an unrivalled power, it now had a Soul. Alexander closed his eyes and opened his heart to the blade.

"What are you called Soul weapon?" Alexander asked in the quietest of whispers.

Soul... Nought... It rasped back to him in the dying voice of an old man.

"And what is your purpose?"

To break... The Embrace It wheezed into Alexander's mind. And to give... My master... The power... He needs.

"Excellent," Alexander smiled, "Now show me where the Soul Embrace is held..." He waited a moment, but there was no reply. He asked his question again, but still the Blade didn't answer.

Alexander opened his eyes and looked at Soul Nought as he held it in his hands.

"The voice was weak. Perhaps it needs more time." He mused and placed the sword back in its holding position. "Tomorrow then. For now I shall find people who can get me the Embrace and then I shall have my life once more."

Nightmare felt the cold of stone beneath him and opened his eyes. He was Ostrheinsburg castle, his former fortress. In his hand was the true Soul Edge, it was no longer bound in the Soul Embrace. But something had changed. The weapon had grown in power and he could feel its energies flowing into his body changing him, fusing with him.

"Soul Edge will become whole again," The blade said to Nightmare and the words came out of his mouth, "Everything that was once part of the blade will now join with it."

Nightmare stood up and stabbed Soul Edge into the air. It began to glow with dark red, evil energy. Nightmare could feel every fragment of Soul Edge all over this world, including those trapped within Soul Calibur. He pulled them towards him. Some came rapidly, others slowly, but as they arrived at Ostrheinsburg they became fused to Soul Edge. Over the course of the next few days fragments flew to the castle and eventually Soul Edge became almost complete. But the pull of Soul Edge also brought with it beings who had once been human, and others. Any creature that had been tainted by the energy of Chaos and Inferno came to Ostrheinsburg.

Lizardmen, Berserkers, Revenants and many other creatures flooded the gates waiting for the blades influence to tell them what to do once more.

Nightmare climbed the stairs. He had a grin on what little face he still had, though it was hidden behind the Azure faceplate of his armour. The remnants of sunlight crept through the trees, but the moon still hovered overhead waiting to cast its glow. Nightmare moved over to the battlements and surveyed what was now his army. The Azure knight lifted the Cursed sword above his head. Thunderous roars and cheers echoed around the castle grounds.

"Soul Edge is nearly complete. Our world is almost here." Nightmare stopped as more roars were shouted, "You are the only thing that can bring Soul Edge back to its true power. Go and find your masters fragments bring them here and we shall see him revived!"

A third group of roars were shouted into the night and the monsters began running out of the castle.

Lizardmen, Berserkers and Revenants ran everyway that they could. A wave of destruction flowed out from the castle as the creatures searched for their masters remains.

Themis stared at the piece which brought her here. Actually, she had no idea which brought her hear, her father, or the piece. But either way, she decided it must be destroyed. She raised her sword, only for the piece to speak to her. It spoke in such a manner....maybe she can just stop and accept it......but no. She striked, only for a horde of monsters to distract her. They're probably searching for this. She thought. She raised her sword and attacked in excellent maneuvers that killed them all. She then took a piece of wool she was trying to make as clothing other than her now ragged school clothes, picked up the piece with the wool, and ran away, before more monsters could get to her.

"The last thing I need to do is to be killed anticlimactically." She muttered.

As Themis fought against the creatures which sought the piece of Soul Edge, a lone raven sat high in the tree tops. It was a watcher, ravens that were loyal only to Nightmare, and it had seen the girl fight. It had seen her face. With a caw it flapped its wings and sailed the skies back to Ostrheinsburg castle. It flew through a window and landed on Nightmare's shoulder. There minds were connected.

"Excellent a piece of the blade," He growled into the cavernous hall, "But for now I must stay here. So you shall go in my place..."

A girl in her late teens with a large ring on her shoulder stepped out of the shadows.

"Yes master," She said before running out of the castle without another word.

Darth Vader walked to the threshold of Osheinburg, the place where he felt such strength in the Dark Side like no other he felt. This energy he felt was not the dark spite that most Sith used to harness the Dark Side, but of pure anger and fustration, similar to his own. As he walked towards the city of darkness, a large armoured man charged at him, swinging a large ax and shouting gibberish. This man was weak in the force and Vader simply held out his hand and choked him to death. He sensed two more coming from behind, so he lifted the dead body of the first with the force and threw it into one of the approaching axemen. The other got within striking range, but before he could even touch Vader, his axe was already in two and his head loose on his shoulders. Vader walked away from the little scene of carnage as if nothing had happened.

Misao sailed towards the port of Osheinburg in her schooner, the Underroot, with her loyal crew. She had heard rumours that the source of all the evil that struck the world was at this location and she was determined to bring an end to it. As she sailed deeper, she felt very uneasy, as if there was some dark miasma over the city. As her ship approached the dock, a half-man, half-lizard wielding an axe crawled onto the dock and threw his axe at Misao. Misao just barely avoided the axe and it hit the mast of the ship, stuck firmly in place. The lizard man was then promptly sniped by one of the crew with the musket.

"Wait here guys, I'm going alone. Hold down the ship and wait for three days. If I'm not back by then, head for the Port of London without me. Got it?" Misao said in a commanding voice. Her crew weren't happy about it, but nodded. Misao then jumped onto the docks and rushed into the city.

Ayano found herself at the threshold of Osheinburg. During her wandering, she had noticed a dark cluster of clouds with strange red lightning over the city and decided to investigate. Perhaps she could find out why half the people she met during her travels tried to rape her. Silently, she thanked the fact that she had brought a blade with her. As she approached the city, she noticed that huge men with axes were rampaging around, looking for something. Ayano stealthily snuck around these huge men, eventually entering the city.

In the outskirts of Ostrheinsburg Castle, Kirimono looked at the castle before him. He felt a dark presence, nothing like he felt before. The very reason is that his sword can sense the dark fragments of Soul Edge. He knew he wasn't ready to face the Azure Knight himself. "Soon, Makuta...soon..." he said as he turned around and now prepared for his journey to look for the Spirit Sword and/or Siegfried for assistance, or others who wish to destroy Soul Edge. He then stopped, as the Alondite began to glow brighter and brighter. He wasn't sure exactly why it was glowing, but he knew something had to be let go from it, for now.

Kirimono stabbed his sword in the air, releasing a blast of pure light that traveled to Ostrheinsburg and created a shield around it, containing all the power in it already so no other fragment or holder of said fragment will follow. "Light is a man's treasure." said the sword in a whisper. It was unknown how that happened, but the voice sounded much like Makuta. Kirimono clenched a fist. "Time to begin my journey." he said to himself as he headed towards the Lakeside Coliseum.

Alexander sat at a desk scrawling to candle light. He needed people to help him retrieve the Soul Embrace. He couldn't leave his home unattended, but he had other ways of getting people to do his work. And so Alexander was writing a letter to someone, anyone, who could help him achieve his goal.

I seek your help.

There is a force in this world unlike any other, you most likely know of the Cursed Blade and the powers it holds. But I know of one whose abilities exceed that of the sword. I am not able to leave from my dwelling, but I have a way of searching for this power. If you believe you can help me in my quest then implore you to find me. This paper shall show you the way.

Sincerley,

Alexander

He looked at the letter before him and placed it within an envolope. He sealed it with a piece wax and and placed his seal upon it. He stood picking up the letter as he went and, holding it in both hands, moved over to his roaring fire. He looked at the crisp white rectangle before him and threw into the flames. It didn't burn, it had disappeared. Alexander had used a simple trick he had learnt early in his studies to send any correspondance, or multiples of, to any person in the world as long as he new their location. But with the extra power he held due to the fracture into Chaos, he was able to send it to anyone he wanted anywhere.

Soon after a copy of the letter was safely stored within the items of any person powerful enough to help Alexander.

Nightmare felt a sudden powerful presence near the castle, but before he could send his forces after it, it disappeared. Everything past the outerwalls disappeared. He looked out from a large hole in the castle wall and he could see a faint white shimmer in the air. A barrier of pure light, only an item with a Soul do such a thing. And there were only a few in existance that Nightmare knew of. He wielded Soul Edge in his hands, Siegfried had that wretched Soul Calibur and the Yuga weapons were being held in china. Which meant that another had somehow been forged.

"NO IT IS IMPOSSIBLE!" He screamed. He tried to call to his minions, but they were out of his reach even his watchers were outside the barrier. Only his most trusted lieutenants were within the castle, but none of them could do anything about it. He felt for the outside world, Soul's and Soul Edge fragments were beyond his grasp... for now.

Galen calmly walked up to the Castle gate. He stopped just before it, pulling a folded sheet of flimsi from his belt- no, in this world, they called it 'paper'- and unfolding it.

Dear sir,

My contacts in various cities have brought you to my attention, though it's unlikely you would've avoided it otherwise. A man with swords of blue fire and supernatural powers tends to attract attention. From what I've been told, you seek answers. I can help you find those answers. Come to my castle north of London. There are matters we should discuss. My name is Alexander. When you come to the gates, knock four times in quick succession.

Galen folded the letter back up, placing it inside his belt. He raised his right fist, pounding the gate four times. "Alexander! You sent me a letter! I've come for those answers you promised!" he shouted, amplifying his voice with the Force.

It had only been an hour since he began to head to the Coliseum. He wasn't even halfway there. Then he felt something in his pocket. It was an envelope. he opened it and saw a letter. After he read it, he began to focus his energy to find out where exactly Alexander's whereabouts are located. His location was east from where he was. He then began to run towards that direction. "Let's hope that I'm not too late." Kirimono told himself. He continued to run.

It was unknown to him that the shield was beginning to weaken, since Soul Edge's power is more powerful than Kirimono thinks.

After a while of running away, Themis was once again corned by monsters. "They just keep coming...." She muttered. She slashed them all in one strike and began running once more. She noticed something was amiss. She climbed up a ladder and ran across the roof of a house, jumped, and ran across the roof of the next house. She then jumped towards the ground, her sword stabbing the ground first thing so she doesn't lie on the ground in pain vulnerable from the impact. She climbed down her sword, grabbed it and slashed at the next monster that was planning a surprise attack. She then began running forward, until a humanoid black figure stood in her way. She raised her sword. "Who are you?!" She shouted, ready to strike if this figure proved to be dangerous.

Alexander heard the echo of a door being slammed on. He stood and as he did so the door opened to let Galen in. Alexander moved through his home until he reached the entrance hall. He stood a few metres away from the door and the outline of Galen Marek was being lit from the light behind him. He looked the newcomer up and down before speaking. There was a strong presence that flowed around this young man. Something he had never felt before, something not quite from this universe.

"You are not from this place are you?" He asked, but he didn't wait for an answer.

"I am Alexander, but before you may come in I have a question for you... Why are you here?"

In Ostrheinsburg Castle, the shield had began to crack. It couldn't take holding its power any longer. The shield had shattered and the absorption power of Soul Edge continued on.

With the shattering of the shield, the Alondite began to radiate a bright yellow. Kirimono stopped in his tracks since the sword was draining his energy very slowly. He was nearly a mile away and could see Alexander's home from where he was standing. The sword then stopped its glow as the sweat rolled down Kirimono's face in exhaustion. What had happened? he thought.

As he continued on, he began to sense a power source unlike any other. Is it Soul Calibur? No. It was a power source of nothingness plunged into darkness, as did Soul Edge many years ago. In time, Kirimono will understand everything.
