If I was given a time machine for a day' date=' I'd travel back in time to see Vesuvius erupt and destroy Pompeii. That would've been one heck of a report for Latin class xD

[/quote']

Then maybe you'd breathe in the ash and suffocate and die by the pyroclastic flow of the volcano

Me saying Vesuvius automatically implies to the smart person that I am at a freakin' safe distance from the freakin' volcano. How could you not infer what I was implying?

Guest Random Dude

Vesuvius's eruption covered a huge area, most of the area covered was by ash and soot from the eruption. You would have barely been able to see anything unless you were at a moderately unsafe distance.

Ypu, but I saw this freakinly real like vid about the Vesuvius eruprions and what happened and it seems it spreads out very far, even across a big distance. I learned a lot, but it was very real like.

But then, you are not "time travelling".

You are merely sent back in time or time ceases to exist in this very moment which actually is not a moment. Assuming there is time in the first place.

A "travel" is something different.

Okay, difference from wormhole and black hole.

Wormhole:

A fold in space-time, which allows you to jump from one point in time somewhere and somewhen in the universe to another separate point, somewhere else in space and somewhen else in time.

Black hole:

A large star that has collapsed in on itself with a large enough gravitational pull to absorb all light and matter, which theoretically causes a "hole" in space-time.

Now you're thinking with portals.
