Yang Xiao-Long
If I was given a time machine for a day, I'd travel back in time to see Vesuvius erupt and destroy Pompeii. That would've been one heck of a report for Latin class xD

How could you not infer what I was implying?
Guest Random Dude
Vesuvius's eruption covered a huge area, most of the area covered was by ash and soot from the eruption. You would have barely been able to see anything unless you were at a moderately unsafe distance.

Ypu, but I saw this freakinly real like vid about the Vesuvius eruprions and what happened and it seems it spreads out very far, even across a big distance. I learned a lot, but it was very real like.

Womi
But then, you are not "time travelling".You are merely sent back in time or time ceases to exist in this very moment which actually is not a moment. Assuming there is time in the first place.A "travel" is something different.
Βyakuya
A black hole is a spacial disturbance in which a start is destroyed and is imploded into a black hole which will suck everything, even light can't escape, and is sucked into a temporary void. Black holes have nothing to do with time.

Felix Culpa
Okay, difference from wormhole and black hole. Wormhole:A fold in space-time, which allows you to jump from one point in time somewhere and somewhen in the universe to another separate point, somewhere else in space and somewhen else in time. Black hole:A large star that has collapsed in on itself with a large enough gravitational pull to absorb all light and matter, which theoretically causes a "hole" in space-time. Now you're thinking with portals.
Βyakuya
techincally, by both theories, black holes have nothing to do with time travel
PANDORUM™
I don't know if anyone has already wrote this, i can't be bothered reading 4 pages. If time travel were to be invented in the future, wouldn't the future peoples travel back in time and tell us?
waterwhip
The butterfly effect change one thing and it can ruin the future. Our society exists because our past led up to the events making us where we are.

warhunter
not that we really know what the hell we're talking about here. i mean, where do most pictures of 'time' originate from? fiction. it's completely abstract, and doesn't make any literal sense. (hardly anything does anyway...)
