Soul Eater: Trials of a Strong Soul (STARTED!!! STILL ACCEPTING ON PLANNING THREAD!!)

The laughing sun raidiates over the desert that holds Death City. The Death Weapon Meister Academy, aka, The DWMA stands tall in the center of the city. Within it's confines the academy's creator, Death himself is enjoying a cup of tea with his personal weapon.

 

Lord Death takes a sip. "Couldn't ask for a better day to enjoy a cup of tea, aye Spirit?" The Death Sythe glanced over at the grim reaper and nodded.

 

"I suppose so sir, but shouldn't we also be repairing the damage from the battle with the Keshin Ashura?" Death looked around to see that the Death Room was still pretty damaged and sloply repaired. He then turned back to the sythe.

 

"Yes. You're probably right." He took another sip and Spirit just sweatdropped. "But it can wait a bit longer. It's just too nice of a day to pass up a little relaxtion. Besides, after such a battle don't you think it's best we all try to recover ourselves before putting ourselves back to work." Spirit sighed but smiled all the same.

 

"You're right Lord Death. It does feel nice to relax now that you mention it." Death nodded and took another sip. As soon as he put his cup down however it cracked down the side. He looked at the chip curiously.

 

"That can't be a good sign." he thought to himself.

"Come on Kid, just go inside and talk with your dad." Liz said. She was used to Kid's ever odd behaviors.

"Yeah, yeah! Come on Kid, let's go!" Patty said, just as excited as she usually was.

"I can't! I can't step inside that horrible room! Ever since the battle and the repairs its so horribly asymmetric!!" he yelled.

"We're all of three feet away from the place! Don't freak out about it now! You can do this Kid!" Liz said back. Patty laughed a bit after Liz finished.

"I can?" Kid said tears in his eyes. His voice made it clear that he needed some encouragement.

"Of course you can!" Patty said. That was all the thought that could usually be expected from Patty's motivations.

"She's right. You're amazing! You were in the battle against Ashura and you not only lived but you helped kick its butt! This room is nothing compared to that. You can take it!" Liz said. She'd gotten pretty good at giving Kid motivational speeches.

"You're right! I will go in and talk with my father! Now I go!!" he called out.

 

Immediately after he turned back around and began walking away. Liz and Patty grabbed him right away and dragged him back to set him in front of the doors.

"What's the problem now?!" Liz said.

"....THE DOORKNOBS!!!!" he yelled out. Liz and Patty could pretty easily guess what was coming up next.

"The doorknobs, the one on the right door is five centimeters higher than the one on the left now! I can't walk through such worthless double doors!" Kid said.

"Oh you can't? Come on Patty!" Liz said. Patty only laughed. Together they opened the doors to the Death Room and threw Kid inside of it. Then they walked in and closed the doors behind them. Kid face-planted a few feet behind his father. The whole scene had been rather loud and had no doubt caught Death's and Spirit's attention when it first started.

After realizing Kid and his two weapons had entered the room Lord Death turned around and adressed the 3 of them. "Hey Hi Hello Hi Hi, you three!" he said putting up a peace sign and speaking in his usual goofy matter.

 

"Classes are going on now." said Spirit. "Thought all of you would still be there." The grim reaper nodded.

 

"So what's up? What brings you here?" he said tilting his head slightly to the side.

Kid didn't get up. It was clear he didn't want to see the asymmetry of the room. He kept his face to the floor just as it was after being thrown in.

"If I don't look up I won't see it." Kid thought.

"Hurry up and talk to him Kid!" Liz said. Getting Kid in had been tough enough but now it seemed that getting him to talk would be another chore entirely.

"Shut up! I refuse to see this horrible room." Kid said.

"Then just don't open your eyes! But at least get up and talk with you dad." Liz said. Patty's laughing was pretty constant throughout. Kid reacted like he'd had a marvelous revelation.

 

"You're right!" he said as he stood up with his eyes shut.

"Now I'll just pretend the room is symmetric. Anyway, father I came for two things actually. First off, there are several relatively newer students who want more active roles in what the DWMA does. As of late, Black Star, Maka and I have been doing most of the biggest things and they want to see some more action. Second..." Kid said. He paused slightly.

"Would you please let me fix this room?!!!" he screamed. Liz hit him on the head.

"That's not what you said you were going to ask." she said.

"I can't help it. Keeping my eyes closed isn't helping. I know the room is asymmetric and no matter how much I imagine it isn't I can't change that fact." Kid said.

 

"Just hurry up and finish. Like Maka's dad said, class is still in session." Liz said.

"Right then." Kid said adjusting his tie. "What I meant to say was, I've had a strange feeling recently. Even though we've defeated Ashura I still feel like there's madness in the air. But that shouldn't be. I came to ask if you had any idea what that might be." Kid said.

[~Kefka~]

Daeth looked at his son, and then back at the chipped tea cup. He turned back to Kid and spoke. "Concerning the new students within the Academy i couldn't agree more. If they wish to see bigger roles i see no point in keeping them from it. However you know as well as I Kid that we all need to start somewhere. I want to see their abilities in smaller missions first before i send them to tend to the same levels of missions that you, Black Star and Maka tackle."

 

He also knew Kid was right, there was something wrong in the air, but right after the battle with Ashura there was no sence in worrying everyone so soon. "However Kid if this the asymmetrical nature of my room is messing with your head. After the Keshin was defeated no madness wavelenghts have been detected at the slightest." Spirit then cut in.

 

"Yeah, if the madness was still around we could tell from Stein." Face gets creppy. "After all everyone knows that Stein will disect anyone in their sleep in a heart beat! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!"

"Anyway you three classes are still going on. You should probably get moving. No sence losing education over false notions." he said as Spirit lay on the sidelines with a bleeding skull.

At the classroom many of the new students were having...not exactly the understandeble kind of look.It was probably because of the stun they recieved from what they were seeing.

 

"Excalibur,excalibur.From the UK,I'm looking for him.I'm going to California." Excalibur was singing while doing his silly dance and Hira claping with a smile.

 

"That was great Excalibur-sama!!!Now that your cold is gone the two of us could be partners again..."

 

"BAKA.After abandoning your partner in a crisis you are not wortfy.You will have to follow 2000 requirments to gain back my trust.You don't have the right to choose."

 

"Yes Excalibur-sama."

"Bugger, I thought we did not have to go though Excalibur's Welcoming...Thing after our first year." Damian had the Fake smile look apon his face in one of the Higher rows for which the Second years Sat.

 

"Tell me about it."

 

Daisy took no notice of Excalibur's antics, Desiding to place earphones playing "Close to you" by ALvino from her I-pod. Damian swiftly took it off her and Exposing her to the Annoying antics. Her face changed from Anger to that Of Discust. They though the same thing strangly as the assembly continued;

 

"Let it stop"

"Right then." Kid said. And within the blink of an eye he was outside of the room. Even though they knew he didn't like the room, Liz and Patty weren't sure what to make of how fast he had left it.

"Come on Patty, we better stop him from running into anything or anyone. Knowing him he still has his eyes closed. Thank you for your time Lord Death." Liz said as she made a quickly bow.

"Yeah thanks!" Patty said as she too bowed and left.

 

Amazingly enough, Kid had stopped after going only ten feet past the door. Even more surprising, he had his eyes wide open and he even looked serious.

"No madness huh? Then why do I still feel it there? It's not like there could be residues from Ashura, that would mean he was still alive. It has to be something else. Maybe I'm just too worried about it." Kid thought.

 

"Hey Kid, you ready to go?" Patty called out as her and Liz walked up to him. Kid snapped out of his thoughts as they approached.

"Yes, now that we're out of that horribly asymmetric room, I'm good to go. I suppose we're headed back to class then. Let's go, Liz, Patty." Kid said. The other two followed him off. Before long they reached the classroom. They saw at least four others inside. One was Excalibur, so Kid made it a point to just walk straight through to his seat. There were two students Kid hadn't seen often before. Kid began to walk on through the room and past Excalibur with his usual nonchalant look with Liz and Patty following. With any luck, Excalibur would leave him alone. Or rather, with a lot of luck, Excalibur might leave them alone.

[Dranzer]

"BAKA" Excalibur shouted at Kid.

 

"I promised I would never forget you.BAKA.My legend began in the 12th Century along with my first Meister,Arthur.He reminds me of this young soul.BAKA.Did you know I was a respective detective in England at the early 1900.BAKA.I would have to abandon my love to continue my crew.BAKA.BAKA.BAKA...." Excalibur continued blabering.

Once Kid had left the room Lord Death went back to his tea and took a sip. Just then Spirit spoke. "Lord Death, what do you think has Kid so spooked?" Lord Death just sat there while quietly sipping his tea. "Uh....Lord Death...?" Silence. "..................."

 

"Hm? I'm sorry Spirit. Did you say something?" Spirit sweatdropped.

 

"Are you even listening?"

Two miles from DWMA, Seth sat and rested on a large rock,"Where am I going to go?" he thought to himself, "Well since I don't have anywhere to go maybe I could sneak into DWMA and they wouldn't notice me, I could act like a new student" Seth brought a dim smile on his face.

 

A voice inside of Seth spoke"Do you Actually think that's going to work?... they would find you and kill you in a quick second...you know they wouldn't take you back...thats the main reason you left isn't it?"

 

"Phobia...shut up it's worth a try...but if it doesn't no doubt I might get attacked and I'll be forced to defend myself" The smile of his face faded slowly.

 

Phobia laughed "What's the matter are you sad knowing they'll attack you, then you'll be forced to kill them"Seth could tell Phobia was smiling and hated him for that, Seth stood up and started to walk back to DWMA.

Stein sat at his desk in his lab typing away at his computer. He took a drag of his ciggarette and blew a smoke ring from it in the shape of a skull. "Hm....guess this work just isn't catching my intrest." he said before he pushed away from his desk. His chair spun him half way round before he stopped. He veiw at his no empty and dark lab.

 

For a small second Stein saw a fadded Marie sitting on his couch with a cup of tea. She took a sip and smiled at Stein. "It's done." she said with a warm smile before the vission vanished. Stein let out a small sigh before he kicked back in his chair and blew another smoke skull.

 

"Never knew how lonely it could get in here." he said blankly before he got up and walked from his lab.

Patty and Liz went on to their seats, with Patty laughing about how cute she thought Excalibur was. Kid did his best to ignore Excalibur's ramblings and took his seat a bit higher up in the rows than his weapon partners. Soul, who sat next to him, hadn't arrived yet. It wasn't like Maka to be late. Soul was a different matter but Maka generally had him show up on time with her anyway. Kid sat down and tried to zone out so as not to hear Excalibur or whatever was going on underneath his yelling.

"Where's Stein? Shouldn't he be in here right now? Or is Sid teaching today? Either way, I would think a teacher would be here by now." Kid thought as he sat. He then started scanning the room to see what random way Stein would decide to enter this time or if Sid had snuck up on them in any way.

[Dranzer]

"Excalibur-sama,Sid sensey is here and he looks prety mad on us.I wonder why?"

 

"BAKA.Rule number #231 - Never interupt my background story"

"But.."

"BAKA.Education is important.You should start paying attention in class."

"Yes Excalibur-sama."Hiro said with a sad face.

At one corner of the classroom, Jak McCloud sat in his chair with his feet propped up on the desk. He smiled and looked at his weapon partner, Leon.

 

"You know, days like this are kinda calming." he said.

 

Leon rolled his eyes. "Its completely boring. I want some action, I wanna at least fight someone." he huffed.

 

Jak shook his head. "That's all you ever think about."

Seth walked for hours before coming upon Death City, He hesitated to walk past the gates, "Do you really think your plan is going to work Seth?...its pathetic how you want to come back here"

 

Seth tried to ignore Phobia but Seth found it hard, "Phobia...shut up." He started to walk again passing the gates. "I really don't want to hear your voice right now...your starting to annoy me." Phobia stayed silienced for a while.

 

"Seth...if things get out of hand you should let me take over...ever since you sealed me up I never got to have any fun...except for that one time I got out." Phobia laughed, "You should of seen it Seth...they screamed for their lives but I just kept killing... ninty-six souls...thats how many I counted when I was done...to bad we have no need to collect them anymore." He laughed again, Seth remebered what he was talking about.

 

"They didn't deserve to die Phobia...sometimes I wonder if you have lost your mind to the madness" Seth recalled that horrible day, He was passing through a small village when a gang of criminals stopped him in his tracks, they were no matchh for him so Seth quickly defeated them but their boss, a witch grew angry with him, Seth put up a good fight but not good enough as he lay on the ground in a puddle of his blood he lost consciousness. A few moments later he awoke he saw the small village on fire, souls on thhe ground everywhere he wounds healed, he was ashamed all he could do was walk away and act like it never happened.

 

Seth contiued to walk through Death City he saw DWMA from afar "It's time to go to school."

Stein entered the Academy. Classes had already started but Sid had said he would cover for him, due to the fact Stein had taken some time off since his fight with Medusa. He walked down the hall until he heard a voice call to him. "Yo Stein! Good to see you're finally out of the house." the professor turned to see Spirit walking up to him.

 

"I decided to come here and see how the class was doing. I'll be here tomorrow teaching again, but ever since Marie left to go back to her post the labs been.......loney to say the least." Spirit smiled.

 

"Ah...so you miss Marie huh? I can see why. If i had a girl like that chasing me i'd miss her too." Stein smiled lightly.

 

"It's not like that, but i won't lie and say it's not the same around the lab once she left. And anyway that's not the only reason i'm here. Lord Death contacted me." The death sythe looked questionably at him.

 

"Hm? What for?" Stein shrugged and blew a whiff of smoke.

 

"Not sure. I'm going to find out now." he said walking past Spirit and towards the Death Room.

Seth came upon te entrance of DWMA and stood there for a while,"What your doing is idiotic Seth...but I know your not going to listen to me...I'm just goin to wait for things to go wrong"

 

"Phobia you always want things to go wrong?" Seth started to walk again. "You will never come out again I'll make sure of that." He opened up the doors and walked in.

 

"You know deep inside that I will come out again...your just scared wha will happen if I do. Phobia laughed.

 

"Phobia...shut up" Seth said walking down the hallway.

When a new kid walked in to the room,Hiro emidietly noticed him.He waved to the new guy when he was clso to him.

"Hello there newcomer.I'm Hiro and this here is my partner Exca..."

"Baka.Only I can introduce myself.Rule 54."

"*Sigh* fine.So what's your name new guy?"

Maka Albarn called back to her friend/weapon as she hurriedly power-walked through the school to get to her class; for some reason unfathomable to her, she had managed to sleep in 15 minutes after her alarm went off, so she had to do everything twice as fast, frompreventing a certain cat-woman from seducing Soul, to fixing their typical bacon-and-egg breakfast. Hell, she'd nearly ran off without her snowy-haired friend.

 

"Yeah, yeah, cool your jets, I'm comin.'" Unfortunately for Maka, however, Soul didn't have that same attitude as she did, and was walking only slightly faster than normal. Honestly, why'd she always have to be so uptight and concerned about school? It wasn't like they were skipping school or anything. She was so desparate to get to class on time that she'd almost ran off without waiting for him, even though he was the one with a motorcycle.

 

Seeing that they were closing in on the classroom, the two picked up their pace, Maka's increasing so she was almost jogging, and Soul actually jogged up to her side just in time to turn the corner and enter the class. Scanning the class, the duo found quite a few people that they hadn't seen before, and the absence of a teacher. Spotting their first trio of friends, Maka waved as the to approached their seats. "Hey, Kid, Liz, Patti." Soul followed with just a simple 'Hey,' as he took his seat next to Kid and slouched down.

Leon watched as the new kid walked in. "Look there, fresh meat for me to challenge!" he grinned.

 

Jak shook his head. "Please Leon, you dont even know if hes a Meister or a Weapon." he said. "He isn't wearing one of those name tags."

 

"Eh, whatever." Leon said. "I still think I can beat him."

 

Jak shook his head again. "And you said that the last time you fought Kid, Liz, and Patti" he said.

 

"You love bringing that up, don't ya?" Leon asked.

 

Jak smiled. "Of course."

"Late for once Maka? That's certainly a first for you. So what was going on huh? Soul giving you trouble? Maybe that weird cat of yours? It must have been bad for you to have been even slightly late, but late into the double digits of numbers? It must have been something awful." Liz said just to bug Maka upon her entrance. Well that and she was bored and wanted a little bit of excitement.

"Yeah, yeah! Come on, what was happening?" Patty asked excited.

 

"Uncaring as always I see, Soul." Kid as Soul took his seat. Soul was generally unmoved about things like being late.

"Well, I have one thing to ask you..." Kid said giving Soul a very serious glance.

"Why did you have to be fifteen minutes late?!!!!!" he screamed out of no where. Upon hearing it Liz got a little annoyed and Patty just laughed.

"Why fifteen?! Why couldn't you have been eight minutes late? Or even eleven minutes late? At least pick a symmetric time to be late?!" Kid said. He now had his face on its side on his desk. The asymmetric time clearly bothering him.

"Well," Maka started, looking away from her two female friends as she took her seat, clearly embarrased about being so late. She was hoping that Kid's outburst would distract Liz and Patty enough to make them forget their curiosity; no such luck, once they were finished with Kid, their attention snapped right back to her. "I actually, uh, slept in late; I guess the fight wish Asura really hit me hard. So what's up with you two?"

 

Meanwhile, Soul suppresed the urge to smirk at his friend's despair, instead settling for a raised eyebrow beneath his headband. "Well it's not like I chose how late we were going to be, it was Maka's fault we were late in the first place. Besides It's not like it mattered, there isn't a teacher here yet, so they won't know we were late. "

Hey Maka,Soul nice to meet you two.Again.I hope you do remember my name Hiro.Aldo I've mostly met your friends Black Star and Kid.And you should have seen them.They were quite good,but I beat them.Too bad they couldn't become the partners of the great Excalibur.Only I Hiro could be the Meister and follow the 1000 requirments.

Jak groaned a bit as he heard Hiro talk. "Jeez, he needs to stop bragging about him being Excalibur's Meister."

 

"Finally, you see that both of them are annoying." Leon said quietly, making sure that Excalibur and Hiro didn't hear him.
