Mortal Kombat is awesome. I have Deadly Alliance (got it when it first came out), then got Deception, Shaolin Monks, and Armageddon all in one pack for my birthday (the pack was Mortal Kombat Kollection).

lucky, ive been trying to get deadly alliance, (even though you cant play as Liu Kang) deception, and Armageddong!

There was another video, it was showing gameplay, and it had Kung Lao's fatality all the way through. I'm surprised they got away with a R rating on that.

 

Mortal Kombat 9 looks so freakin' awesome. I would get a PS3 just for this game. Coming out in 2011, I might need to start saving up for a PS3. I was trying to see all the characters in the trailer, but I only knew a few of them (meaning remembered their names).

 

I saw Raiden, Shao Kahn, Sub-Zero, Kung Lao, and was that Mileena(?). I'm trying to figure out the rest of the characters in the trailer.

Mortal Kombat 9 (really just named Mortal Kombat) is a pathetic reboot of the series. All they're doing is having Raiden go back in time to the events of the first three games and change them, nothing special.

 

They need to make a new game with new characters, outfits and everything, not some lame ass reboot. Do a second Armageddon, or something like Deception, not this crap.

The entire koncept behind the game sucks, the planned storyline sucks, and with only a limited few kharacters available to play as (only the ones from MK-MK3) it won't be good.

 

It is too limited and a desperate attempt at making the series popular with todays generation of gamers.

 

With the declusion on such amazing kharacters like Bo' Rai Cho, Frost and Kobra, this game won't be worth it. I'm a hardkore Kombatant and wouldn't waste money on this filth if I were you. Stick with the Kombat Golden Series (Deadly Alliance, Deception and Armageddon)

So bring the game back to what made it good is a bad thing? That's pretty backwards logic, IMO. Also, this IS a new game. It's got a new tag-system, a super meter, and the x-ray moves.>_>

The graphics were horrible, there was like no real storyline, and the moves were so pathetic and limited it's not funny. To be honest, the only thing those games can be credited for is launching the MK franchise and allowing such greats like Armageddon to be made.

To be honest, the only thing those games can be credited for is launching the MK franchise Except that if they weren't good, they wouldn't have launched a franchise. And don't start with any of that "The violence started the franchise." Splatterhouse beat Mortal Kombat to the punch. and allowing such greats like Armageddon to be made then why do people prefer the original game to the current ones? I don't mean just critics. Most gamers in general that care for Mortal Kombat at all. Hence why the reaction to going back to its roots is very positive and not like your reaction.
