Do you have an antivirus? If so, check that it really is updated. Then, just connect the memory stick and the computer and try to clean your memory stick, or at least put the virus under quarantine. After that, make sure you have dominated the virus and do a FULL SCAN on your computer. (Also, if the infection on the computer was something recent -about less than a week-, I strongly recommend you to wait 2-3 days, because new virus may not be identified by the antivirus)

If you don't know what I'm talking about, get some info about it, 'cause you will really need it in your daily informatic life. (To put it in a nutshell... Most antivirus will recognize that there is a virus in the memory stick and give you what options are viable. If not, just right-click over the memory stick icon and search for an option to scan the memory stick).

Also, and for starters, if you don't have an antivirus, I recommend you to get Avast, it's good and free.

Good luck with retrieving your card designs!

Every computer has something called "ports" that are used to connect to the Internet. Think of them like doors. Most of them are closed, and a few of them cannot be closed because they are vital to be connected. But there are some of them that can be closed and are not vital, and they are nonetheless open. You should definitively close them to make sure you're safe from virus and spyware. But honestly, I'm not an expert as to such a degree.

I would not close ports so fast, you may not know which ports are vital or not, and if you have stuff like a nintendo DS/xbox 360/PS3, you need extra ports, and if you host servers for games such as hl1 hl2 mw1 etc, you need ports for those also. I wouldn't go about closing ports if your unexperienced, or you may ruin your connection for other things.

Issues? No, except Avast reminding you when it's going to expire the licence (it's free to get it the 1st time and any time after) and maybe some Avast-exclusive messages when you start Windows. Those messages often come with an option that says "Remind me no more" or something like that... Also, be sure to check that on other thing is installed with avast, no other stupid things like "Google Bar" or advertisement-wise things. I don't recall if the Avast installer come with any of these, but if it does, just uncheck them and install only Avast itself.

Also, some people experience MINOR problems while downloading things or connecting to some internet webpages, but I have never experienced such a thing. Moreover, it's possible that it isn't a problem of Avast, but it's just trying to protect you because you are unprotected. Having an antivirus doesn't make you sure while you're in the net.

If you don't have virus protection you should not be on the internet. Without one of them, you cannot isolated the infected files on the memory stick. Once you've done that you should be safe to add them to your PC.
