Which is strange, because with The Legendary Fisherman (the first card to have this same effect) your opponent can attack directly while Umi is in play. Which is strange, because with The Legendary Fisherman (the first card to have this same effect) your opponent can attack directly while Umi is in play. And as a quick side-note, they would be able to attack directly if this was the anime. Yeah, with special abilities like Spell Striker and whatnot, they could.
