best games in my opinion. They have some great plotlines and great gameplay. Here is a home-made timeline starting from the bottom to the top. Any dates in parenthesis are the american release dates:

Mario RPGs are sweet, that's for sure. I wouldn't say they're the best (save that for Chrono Trigger or Tales of Symponia IMO), but they're awesome, without a doubt.

 

And Fawful's the real star of Bowser's Inside Story. Everyone rejoiced when he returned, even you, even if you don't know it yet.

The Mario and Luigi series delivers more humor, and the Paper Mario series never felt like an RPG to me.

 

I like them both. ^^

 

I'm getting SMBRPG on VC when I get enough Wii Points, but from what I've seen, the battle system looks pretty boring.
