Name: Emily Lanson

 

Age: 18

 

Power: Emily has the ability to draw out the hidden potential of objects. Each object has their own abilities, and its rare for two different objects to have the same combination of abilities. Right now, Emily can only safely use weak abilities of objects she is familiar with; using too strong an ability or using an object she is unfamiliar with risks shattering the object, sometimes without the object even using the ability.

 

Bio: During her early years, Emily lived with her father Alex Lanson, who was a blacksmith. He wasn't that famous, but consistenly forged quality blades for those who came to visit the small village the family lived in. These times wouldn't last, for her father was murdered in cold blood, while he was travelling to purchase materials at a bazaar. Emily was staying with the Tanarn noble family, who often cared for her when her father was away. Lord Tanarn knew Alex Lanson when they were younger, and they often fought together against the Dragon-Lizard alliance. As such, Lord Tanarn decided to take care of Emily, now only 5 years old, as a last favor for his now dead friend.

 

Lord Tanarn had always wanted a daughter, and treated Emily as his own. She coped with the loss of her father well, and was considered a true member of the Tanarn household in everything except blood. Emily discovered her interest in fighting, since she grew up listening to the old war stories her father and Lord Tanarn told. She preferred armed combat, and trained with various weapons, but settled on using swords as her primary weapon. Impressed with her growth, Lord Tanarn gave her two matching swords for her to use. They were forged by her father Alex after the war was over, and while he kept one, the other was given to Lord Tanarn as a gift and symbol of friendship. Obviously, such weapons should be used by Alex's daughter, Lord Tanarn thought, and Emily happily accepted the weapons as her own.

 

She kept the swords for about three months before one of the swords suddenly caught on fire while she was training with it in the fields. Dropping it in surprise, the flames suddenly vanished once she let go of the blade. Thinking it to be a hallucination, she picked it up again, only to have it catch on fire again. It was eventually discovered that the sword only catches on fire when she holds it, and that the partner sword becomes drenched in cold water when held by Emily. It wasn't just the swords, either... her bedsheets made her immobile when she was covered by them, and her

bracelet lights up like a lamp when worn. This would have been difficult to deal with, so Lord Tanarn quickly got to work to discover a solution.

 

While Emily gained small mastery over her powers, they sometimes still flare up uncontrollably, particularly when she is not conscious. It was about this time Lord Tanarn heard about Celia's secret school for children with unique abilities. The location of the island itself is unknown, but the location of the ship heading there *was* known. Unable to get in contact with Celia, Lord Tanarn used his influence to sneak Emily onto the ship, with nothing but her clothes, her swords, and the bracelet she was given by her father before he was killed. Before sending her off, Lord Tanarn told Emily everything he learned about the circumstances surrounding her father's death, the important thing being the rumor that Lizard-men were the assassins that killed him. He did it to warn her to be careful and value her life, but the pent up anger over her father's death started to rise once again...

She also has a gold bracelet she doesn't wear too often; since it is prone to give off light randomly when she does.

 

Character Description: Emily is quiet, preferring to enjoy the company of others in silence. She is in no way reserved, however, and will make her opinions known if something displeases her. She comes off kind of spoiled when she speaks, as she lived a pampered life after her father died. While she places a high value on human life, she is not above killing someone for the greater good. That said, she will do anything to reach her goals, short of murder or something along that lines. Back at the mansion, Emily's room was filled with various objects; as she was fond of unique items. She is almost a kleptomaniac in this regard, though she has held in her impulses for the most part and purchased those items legally.

@YCM: well I was waiting to see if two people I invited were going to join but yeah okay. Now This will officially start at 12:00 pm today.

 

To let everyone know, we shall begin in the city. Then the boat will arrive. I am still writing it so yeah. Till then, keep throwing out ideas in this thread.

Name:Raico Sai de Drago

Age:18

Power:Metallumkinesis, ability to shape Metal to his will, currently he can only control metal up to the size of a longsword, or anything of equal mass, meaning he can make solid shields up to about 2 meters in diameter, But for the manufacturing of weapons he can turn his main longsword into various weapons. However he can only control metal in a 15 ft radius around him, further then that his opponent's will usually be safe

Bio: He likes to keep his history a secret from everyone, at least leading up to before His last village, where he was known to terrorize the citizens by acting like a monster, casually walking through town slashing down food stands and local shops with his hands like a beast. The local authorities had difficulty going against him when he was only 12, but when a rouge group of Lizardmen attacked his Village in an effort to protect himself he discovered his ability to bend metal, and use it effectively as an offensive and defensive weapon. But the destruction he caused frightened the villagers into bringing in a fully armed militia against him, as he was to be executed the Village elder decided to use him instead. They would force him to train in Celia's school and make him the village guardian or else they would execute him on the spot, even Raico could not say no.

Character Description: He seems angry at everything and everyone else around him, Having a huge problem with authority in and of itself. The only reason he has accepted to enter this School is so that he wouldn't be anywhere near the village he took refuge in. His biggest problem is the other people of this academy whom he sees as scum rejects for even being there. He will most likely pick someone out to have the most problems with(I'm thinking Encapturer, I owe her a Rivalry for one of our past RPs)

LuffyLaxer, you may want to change the title of the OoC thread and the IC thread to signify we've started.

 

YCMaker#2, I'm assuming you can either alchemically rearrange your clothes as well... or that what people perceive as your 'clothes' is actually your body shaped to look like clothing (probably the latter, as the first presumes you can transmute things other than your own body, which shows a higher level of control than your app shows). Otherwise... you'd be naked now, since you would have to leave your clothes behind while outrunning the researchers.

 

Finally, LuffyLaxer, this is Lord Tanarn's letter, for when Celia needs to read it.

I am Lord Velias Tanarn, Eighth member of the Royal Court and nobility by birth. I had fought alongside you in that war ten years ago, and even now your skill and reputation demand respect. I would not have bothered you with this request if there was no other way, but as it stands, only you can solve this problem.

 

This letter is in the hands of my adopted daughter, Emily Lanson, daughter of Alex Lanson, another veteran in the war and a good friend of mine. Her father was killed when she was five, and I have taken care of her ever since. She is an accomplished swordswoman, who even now dreams of being a hero. However, she has a malady that we have been trying to train her to control, as we believe that this may be a blessing in disguise.

 

It is difficult to explain, but she has two swords on her forged by her father. If asked, she will demonstrate for you this malady I spoke of. Objects that she are familiar with start to exhibit strange properties while she holds them. We can't be sure what the object will do, but it may be good or bad. She has already developed a small sense, able to control when the objects show those properties, but they sometimes manifest on their own, especially if she isn't conscious. I have received news that you are running a school for warriors who exhibit unique supernatural abilities. I feel Emily has such an ability, and will require your help in controlling that ability.

 

If you need any compensation for my request, you may send a messenger, or send a letter to my estate, and I will be more than happy to comply. I hope you agree to take care of Emily, and continue to teach her in ways that we have been unable to.

Name: Gin

Age: 19

Power: Ki Manipulation

Gin's powers are unique due to the fact that he is one of few people who is able to manipulate Ki at will. The best example is his ability to use a ability known as Kaio-Ken. (HAH HAH YES I WENT THERE!!) Using Kaio-Ken he focus's all of his Ki into his body and be able to move at twice the speed and hit with twice the force he could normally do. Currently he can only use the regular and no more. Other variations are able to turn his Ki into blasts of energy, but he still cannot control this. He is also a master at a fighting style that focus's on blocking his opponent's Ki and render them useless.

Bio: Gin was raised in a rough area, often getting into hundreds of fights, and was tossed in juvenille hall for a year for assaulting a officer. He was offered into a fighting school for being such a great fighter and there learned that he was one in 1,000,000 to be able to control Ki and he was taught one of the most powerful techniques of all the Kaio-Ken. Being to rough for the school he wsa kicked out after brutally defeating a teacher for insulting his parents. Now he is being accepted into this new school and is not really looking forward to it.

Character Description: Gin is random often jumping on those he cares for, for no random reason. He seems to have plenty of good qualities regardless where he was raised such as being sweet to women, mainly because he likes to flirt, or goofy with his male friends. Regardless his kind nature Gin has a darkside and shows it often when people hurt those he cares for.

I would believe that it is based in the present time.

 

The fact that swords were being used kinda make me think otherwise.

That, and the lack of explosives and ballistic weapons described in the hundred year's war. Not even a handwave.

 

S few people (including me), have posted as if it was a classic fantasy universe, while others posted in a modern universe. Some people are going to have to edit their posts.

So guys There won't be guns, or cell phones for that matter, but there are bars and and stuff like that. There are tall buildings, but not by are standards. The mail post is by Carriage, and by pigeon or in Celia's case an owl. There is light bulb and crazy machines, but nothing modern.

 

Second Lord JZ and The Dragon duelist are accepted.

Raico simply overlooked the other "students" and scoffed' date=' hoping the ship would begin already, The faster they left the quicker he could begin training over this all mighty woman's eye. However there were already people he disliked, namely the girl Emily and everyone who seemed to be infatuated with her, for the simple reason that she seemed to be quite presumptuous about her own abilities, whether it was true or not he simply smelled it on her, how he did is unknown.
