That blasted sun. Its rays shone down fiercely upon my face, drops of sweat forming and multiplying like a plague uall over my face. But it was finally all over. The hunt was done, and I was about to seize the power. I finally reached the top of the mountain. Looking down, I'm surprised I actually managed to finish the climb - the bottom was shrouded by the sheer distance. I turned to the abandoned building and took a few steps forward. To my left I heard leaves crunching, and leapt forward just in time to avoid the blinding laser burst. The hunters were back and I, the hunted, made the dash for the prize. I leapt behind old pillars and crumbling walls, trying my best not to get eliminated.

Within 17 seconds I was in the door of the decrepit building, and I slammed it shut behind me. A bookcase served as a barricade, and I ran up the stairs. I memorized the layout back at home, so I knew exactly where to go. A few more seconds and I stood before a computer terminal, still functioning. In fact, it actually looked untouched by the hands of age and weathering. The screen was asking for a username and password. The network was simply called "ADMIN".

I could hear them banging against the door downstairs. I had to hurry. I know the lasers won't have an effect on this building - the image is simply a guise. The actual coding for this structure is programmed to be nearly indestructible, and extremely secure. Hell, the only reason the front door was open was because I had hacked it open before this chase even started.

In my pocket I had the autohack Siobhan gave me a few days ago. It looked like a small USB disk. The computer had a USB port right under the monitor, conveniently, and I jacked it in. The screen went black instantly, rebooting 4 seconds later, showing the desktop instead of the login screen. I did a quick File Search from the Start menu - The banging on the door was becoming more furious, and I heard a window crash. I entered in my name, and it brought up a file with all my data - physical proportions, emotional characteristics, my complete history, mental capacity, even my freaking sexual fantasies. A red title bar sat in the upper left corner of the document, which read "USER STATUS". Under, it simply said "user". I tapped that button with my finger, and a drop-down list appeared, reading the words "user", "moderator", and "administrator".

The administrator option blinked as I heard feet rushing up the stairs. "SAVE CHANGES?" popped up as I closed the document, and I nearly punched yes. I instantaneously felt the results, as my body seemed to transcend this world. I felt as if all of my scenery was fake. I saw the building for what it truly was - a humongous terminal room, with wires lining all the floors. I saw through the glass floor the soldiers marching up the stairs, just as they finally reached my level. The guns were pointed at my head, and a dozen triggers were pulled as I held up my hand. The beams from the guns were frozen in the air, and simply vanished. I heard a slight voice in my head say "ITEM DELETED".

A huge grin crossed my face as I concentrated on the soldiers. I pointed at each one of them in sequence.

"Delete selected items." I said it sadistically, happy at last I've finally reached my prize. I watched with a delicious taste of victory in my mouth as the soldiers were slowly deleted, pixel by pixel.

"Now that I finally have the power I seek... this digital world is mine to control..."

But first came the issue of dealing with the four original admins. And so, the hunted became the hunter. I snapped my fingers, and instantly the sunny setting outside became gray and rainy, soaking everything outside of this building.

"Locate other administrators." The voice answered me in my head.

"SEARCHING... FOUR ADMINISTRATORS FOUND."

I read off their locations in my head as I stepped out of the building, ready to finish this mission.
