Well see here Black that is actually where you are wrong. I am NOT an Atheist. I hold heartedly believe in God, yet the truth of the matter is I do NOT go along with everything that is said about it nor do I take any of it to heart.

Do I believe in something larger than myself? Why yes I do.

Do I believe I need to go to Church every Sunday, Wensday, etc to go to heaven? No

Do I believe that once you die you go to either heaven or hell? Personally this is where I like the idea of reincarnation more . . .

So Atheist? Not really, more of a free-range religious minded person. As Constatine once said, "Let all those deities under the sun be praised! So that none may be forgotten!"

As for the capitilization of God/Satan, I think it depends. If it is part of a story, meaning not the main characters, then I see no reason why not to have them in there. However if you have these people, the televangelists, who rake in millions of dollars then I would say yes.

There is a name for this *Topic Grave dig* This is a variation of an Agnostic's POV. Your typical Agnostic (Me) Doesn't usually go to church or anything like that, but unlike Atheists we don't openly attack religion.

I think I need to clarify what an Atheist is. Atheism, in a broad sense, is the rejection of belief in the existence of deities. In a narrower sense, atheism is specifically the position that there are no deities. Most inclusively, atheism is simply the absence of belief that any deities exist.

Now Agnosticism is the view that the truth value of certain claims—especially claims about the existence or non-existence of any deity, but also other religious and metaphysical claims—is unknown or unknowable. Agnosticism can be defined in various ways, and is sometimes used to indicate doubt or a skeptical approach to questions. In some senses, agnosticism is a stance about the similarities or differences between belief and knowledge, rather than about any specific claim or belief.

So Jake you would be considered an Agnostic, rather than an Atheist.

I have considered my stance on religion, it is there because it is. Why should we question it? Specifically, why should I care?

Agnostic in every sense of the word. That is exactly how I feel, why should I care?

@Black

So? Not all jokes are meant to be funny.

One day, two ladies came round to my house to talk about religion. One question they asked me was 'why was the bible written'. I have a capacity for pulling crap from nowhere, but I instantly knew to say that it is there because it is. Why did the man cut down the tree? Because it was there. Why didn't the man cut down the tree? because it wasn't there. Basically, the bible is here because it is. Religion exists because it does. There is no ultimate question, there is no ultimate answer. Things exist because they do. What more is there to understand?

You know you could avoid this by changing your avi...

Anyway...

@Broken

The Bible is there because (imo, no offense meant) people needed something to convince others to go to church and "donate" money to the "church".
