This is a Discussion of Mother/EarthBound Zero, Mother 2/EarthBound, and Mother 3.

These games are are considered to be "Cult Classics".

If you don't know what these games are, click on the names and GTFO.

If you do, stay awhile and chat about these masterpieces.

Same. Well, it was him and TAG. I was watching TAG play and he gave me info on the game. I then went home and watched the LP (at that point chugga was just finishing it). I then wanted the game so I had TAG send me the emu.

Nice. For about the price as a normal game you making out. I know the other 2 mother games can sell for a lot. Still I'd go with the emu since you miss a lot of jokes if you can't read whats being said.

It's not his fault.

But, if Mothers 1 and 3 where released in the US, there would be less piracy, but not by much. Why Nintendo, WHY!?

I don't blame them for not releasing EarthBound on VC, the Pop culture references (Not even Yugioh the Abridged Series could hold a candle to EarthBound), music references (coughsonicthehedgehogcough), and let's not forget the Final Boss who's name will never be stated.

MOTHER 3.

 

This is only my favorite RPG ever. And yet I can only play it on my VisualBoy Advance. D:

 

The storyline almost made me cry, and kept me engaged throughout the whole game. Itoi is a sexy beast.

 

Mother games aren't released in the US because Itoi stole some copyrighted stuff from America. For example, some of the music in EarthBound and Mother 3 is admittedly (better) remixes of western tunes. As a result, Reggie will not release it here anytime soon. The war between the Starmen and NoA rages on~

 

What I hate about this situation is that Nintendo had the nerve to place Lucas in the active character roster in Brawl. Those asshats.

 

Riveting storyline, an effing combo system, and hilarity await you if you ever decide to download this game illegally with the English translation patch play the Japanese version. <3

Nintendo didn't put Lucas in Brawl, Sakurai did. Also remember that he did it for the people in Japan, so he didn't care that most out side of there never got to know the joys of M3.

 

Also if you were to play the emu it would be the japanese version, just odds are it will be in english.

You'd lose some of the best music in the game and lines would have to be edited out. Plus, I think the low sales of the first EarthBound are rubbing Nintendo the wrong way. D:

 

For now, I'm happy with my translation patch. ^^

I agree, but in the end they might need to edit out to much.

 

Yea, we all want our M3, but we know Nintendo's can't give it to us. At least we have eBay and emus.
