Card 1

Effect

You can Special Summon this card from your hand in response to a Spellcaster-Type or Thunder-Type monster being destroyed in battle. This card is also treated as Spellcaster-Type. Once per Turn you can Special Summon 1 Thunder-Type monster from your Deck with a Level equal to half of the combined Levels of all face-up monsters your opponent controls. A monster Special Summoned by this effect has its ATK and DEF increased by 1000 and its effect negated. When this card is destroyed in battle, you can remove monsters from your Graveyard with a Total Level of 8 to Special Summon this card from your Graveyard in face-up Attack Position.

Card 2

Effect

If you control 1 or more face-up Defense Position monsters, this cards level is treated as Level 5 while it is in your hand. During your opponents Standby Phase, you can have your opponent draw 1 card to send 1 Level 2 or lower monster from your Deck to your Graveyard. If you Tribute Summoned this card, when using this card as a Synchro Material Monster, the other Synchro Material Monsters can be in your Graveyard. If you use this card to Synchro Summon a Level 7 or lower monster, its unaffected by the effects of Trap Cards until your 2nd End Phase.

Good luck to the mod ;D

I go with Card One. The OCG is never something I can grade on, because I suck at it, but the fact that card two gives Synchros even more support turns me away from it automatically. Card one however, I really do like it's picture more, I disagree with the whole, Card Two has a better pic, as they both look to be about the same scale. The pic pretty much boils down to opinion. CArd One would actually work decently in a Gravekeeper deck, but you would want a way to bring those keepers back. All in all, Card One gets my vote.

Card 1. I see it as a more useful card with a better well written effect. It can deal with low level monster with its ATK, the effect brings thunder and spellcaster monsters from your deck with a nice point increase and it can be special summoned from your hand or graveyard depending on the circumstances. Card 1 gets my vote!

Card 2

It has an original effect, and it has better OCG. I agree with Xander. It is less "strict" than card 1 in terms of situation. The nice picture was just a icing on the cake.

I think I know who the mod is. ;)

I vote for Card 1:

I don't understand why it must be or support Spellcasters when it would work perfectly as a Thunder monster (and would make the lore shorter and make Thunder Decks even more popular), but its summoning conditions and effect are awesome: It can reach the field really fast and even return 2 or 3 more Times. And with enough monsters in the field, you will be able to bring powerful monsters, or at least a Level 3 monster.

It could have been WIND instead of the common LIGHT.

On the other hand, Card 2 is too slow in my opinion: It not only requires a Tribute to activate its effect, but also you must wait for your opponent's turn to mill the Level 2 monster you need for the Synchro Summon. And you can't ensure that the girl will survive your opponent's turn, and even less with such low ATK. At least she is searchable, but she won't gain her main effect if she is Special Summoned.
