usetheforcehan
Well, anime is not like porn where they can immediately face 2 face and do something wild or kinky like a novel with picture. Almost like a graphic novel with less words and more picture. The author want us (the audience) to feel the story and characters emotion through picture. That kind emotion need time to develop and don't forget that anime is from manga. Manga in Japan is published once per week (or per 2 week) in a magazine. But the progress in anime sometime 'catch up' with the manga and they (the editor) need something to fill the gap so the don't have to overwork the manga author. Thus, Filler scene is born. That is what makes anime so d•mn long. XD

Cin
Thus' date=' Filler scene is born. That is what makes anime so d•mn long. XD[/quote']Something YGO does even without a manga. Not all animes come from manga. (YGO 5Ds and GX being examples) Some are natural it just how they're developed that makes then unnatural.
Marisa Kirisame-ze
It's what builds up a fan too, you know. And with the long developing scenes, you may even change over the couple you're a fan of. It's all the fun of watching.
Plaguespreader Zombie
I prefer anime/manga romances to irl where the slut girl jumps into bed with the guy on the first date. Taking the romance longer makes it more, for lack of a better word, "pure".

There are some rare occasion where anime is created first than its manga. I guess it's for business opportunity that they create a following manga in the hype of anime popularity. :|

~/Coolio Prime\~
When your "character development" slows down the story and can't be properly incorporated that's just a sign of poor writing.

Not when it's a Romance anime, I don't care as much for Shippings otherwise, unless they are decently incorporated which I have seen a few times.
