PikMan
Mega Man 10 is the tenth (technically eleventh) installment in the ever popular Mega Man series. It also ranks as my favorite Mega Man game, with Mega Man 2 coming at a close second (Get it? Second? Two? ...Yeah, I didn't think it was that funny myself). So without further ado, let's get on with this! STORY: BYou'd imagine that Capcom would start running out of ideas after 11 games, but, like they say, the show must go on. In this particular installment, a Robot disease called Roboenza that causes robots to malfunction. The disease was created by Dr. Wily, but we don't know that until the end. So, long story short, Mega Man must stop him. That's good and all, but Capcom was so short of ideas, they ripped off the Mega Man X games for a story! GAMEPLAY: ALike the previous games, Mega Man 10 is a 2D platformer once again shown in 8-Bit retro-style graphics. There are 3 playable characters to choose from: Mega Man, Proto Man, and Bass. From here you can battle the 8 robot masters: Solar Man, Pump Man, Chill Man, Sheep Man, Blade Man, Nitro Man, Strike Man, and Commando Man. The game once again utilizes the rock-paper-scissors weapon system that made the series such a hit, and it still works. (But still- Sheep Man?!) DIFFICULTY: AThis is what I consider the Goldilocks Mega Man: Harder than Mega Man 2, yet easier than Mega Man 9. But for us Kirby addicts who like our games easy, fear not: There is a decidedly overdone Easy Mode that eliminates some enemies, weakens bosses, and simplifies level design. Then there's the Hard Mode. How hard is it? I can't say right now- Once I get to the Wily Stages I'll let you know. GRAPHICS: BLike I said before, Mega Man 10 brings us back for 8-Bit action... Again. Yeah. Actually, the game gives new meaning to "Age before beauty". Y'know, I kinda wish that Capcom would use the Mega Man 7 16-bit graphics, because i think that- However good the games are- 8-Bit is overrated. SOUND: AEven though we are once again treated to 8-Bit blips and bleeps, you gotta admit that this stands shoulder-to-shoulder with Mega Man 2 in terms of the tunes. Sheep Man's level theme comes in 3rd place for my favorite Mega Man songs. OVERALL: ADespite being a tad stale, Mega Man shows that age isn't everything. With 3 difficulty modes, 3 playable characters, downloadable content, and bonus missions, this should keep Mega Man fans at bay until they come out with Mega Man X9. Saturn of Elemia
The bosses were okay. My analysis of each: Pump Man - Interesting design, but looks and sounds sorta dirty. Weapon is good (for a shield weapon that's just about in every Mega Man)Solar Man - This one was a good one. Reminds me a lot of Pharaoh Man from MM4. Like how the weapon splits.Chill Man - Meh, not that hard and quite lackluster. Reminds me a lot of Mr. Freeze from Batman in design.Nitro Man - They took Turbo Man and Metal Man and fused them together. I like the design - because motorcycles are cooler than cars. (Sorry, Turbo Man). The weapon is awesome because it lets you ride up walls.Commando Man - Meh name. Design reminds me of Gutsman. The weapon is like a cross between Dive Missle and Crash Bomb. Fun.Blade Man - Good weapon, annoying boss. Design looks kinda forced.Strike Man - Seriously, a BASEBALL? Come on, this one seemed forced. The stage is harder than boss itself.Sheep Man - By far, the WORST name and design. The attack pattern was unique, but the boss was just freaking retarded. Seriously, Capcom could've called it Static Man or Thunder Man or something like that, not freaking SHEEP MAN! The Wily Archive boss was freaking GENIUS! Unfortunately, the last Wily Stage was one of the BIGGEST disappointments I've seen in Mega Man history. You just gotta see it to believe it. The ending also disappointed me. The extra features make up for it. I have the 3 bonus weapons as well. They're okay. It's not a bad game, but I really want to see the transition from Mega Man to Mega Man X. PikMan
I disagree with your statement about Strike man, Saturn Paladin. This is probably because when the game was announced, I studied every nook and cranny of the demo stage- which happened to be Strike man's level. I agree with everything else. Saturn of Elemia
Didn't even know there was a demo. (I got it for the Wii) If you know what you're doing (and if you beat Pump Man before you go into his stage), then the midbosses are ridiculously easy. Hold onto a ladder and use it when one of those big stomper guys is near - and BOOM!

But yeah, Water Shield really helps in that stage.
