I've waited about 24 hours, so...

Name: Phineas Damibra

Age: 20

Gender: Male

Physical description/Picture: Black spiked hair, a kind face with shining green eyes, and a dark grey cloak he wears at all times.

Faction: E6: DARK

Deck type: Dark World (with created support here.)

Elemental beast: Anbren, Warmaster of Dark World.

Biography: When he was young, he was orphaned, due to an enormous fire that consumed his entire house. The only detail he could remember (as he was in the house at the time) was that there was a loud roar that pierced the air, and that while he was blacked out, he felt like he was flying. When he woke up in the hospital, the DARK symbol had been burned into his hand because of the fire, or so he thought. From there, he plied himself, a decent student, an average duelist, but one with a lot on his mind. He is a fairly talented fighter, sometimes preferring to settle matters with fists over cards.

RP sample: Pick a post.

I'm reminded of why I don't use custom cards when I RP Duel. To be able to invent (or have invented) cards that "conveniently" can provide random outs...it's too tempting and goes against the point of RP Duels. The focus of the duels is less on the result and more how to make a good duel. This often requires playing off one another's characters and letting your opponent make plays.

Actually, for me, RP Dueling is hardest when it comes down to "can I strike the finishing blow?" Because if I make the arrangements for a finishing blow and neutralize their outs, it might be considered powerplaying, and if I don't neutralize their outs, such an arrangement can backfire and doom me. Just like in a real duel.

Now I seriously have to wonder about some of the custom cards people use. Too often, people use random effects under a (custom) theme, regardless of whether that effect fits with the theme. If you were honestly building a deck around that theme, why the hell would your character think that card is actually good? Are you Jaden, who crams every situational/crappy E-hero related support card into his deck and it just happens to pay off?

Having obscure outs to events is annoying, just like having OPed outs to non-OPed scenarios, illustrated below

If my RP opponent summoned three 2000+ attackers in one move, I'd feel less guilty about RPing that my F/D is Mirror Force than if he summoned just one monster with 3200 ATK. Otherwise, I never touch Mirror Force, because RPs aren't like real duels. They aren't luck of the draw...unless you're a weird RPer. Similarly, I dont dare touch Heavy Storm or other debatably OPed staples.

If there's a real problem regarding two characters having issues resolving a duel with no stakes...that's messed up. Call in a third party. Ooh! Can I be the third party?

Saviero Revisited

Saviero Revisited

Name: Saviero Balatro

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Physical description/Picture:

Faction: Ordo Everto Member (Non-Advanced)

Deck type: Currently under construction OR Darkheart

Ace Card (Cybernetic Deck): Cybernetic Queen - Harmonia/Assault Mode

Ace Card (Darkheart Deck): Duke of Blyxwrath and Duchess of Craeistos

Biography: Saviero was born to an upper-middle class family, though he decided to leave and attempt to accomplish his own things after finishing school. He became a street duelist for some time before joining O.E Corp. He isn't a highly skilled or powerful duelist, however, and is often only assigned tasks that would be inconvenient for others higher up in the group, rather than take on anything important to the progress of things. His deck revolves around shutting down the Special Summoning abilities. After being crushed in battle by one of his superiors, Saviero's current goal is to prove his worth as a duelist.

RP sample:

~~ Saviero glared to his opponent, trying to keep the emotionless gaze he had for most of the duel. His hand was turning out nicely; he could go in for a one turn kill. The duelist facing him looked up as well, sweat beading on his face in anxiety as Saviero began to speak.

"Now... I'll Summon my Cybernetic Queen - Harmonia!"

The being emerged from the ground, shards of light around her. Her long, silver hair was suspended in the air, and her eyes had a blue glow.

"With my Spells and Traps active, you can't do anything! You can't activate Spells, Traps, or Monster effects, and she can attack you directly! Go! Data Erase!"

From what I've gathered, the Sins and Heralds (excepting Pride and Envy, who are elsewhere) are not far from the stadium itself. Elliot, Jane, and Kane were moved to an area outside the stadium (and from immediate harm), but Elliot left to go "home" and Kane walked off.

Sure.

After Tyson (Wrath)'s successful execution of Uru sacrificing all the souls of the tournament audience and competitors, the Sins and Heralds have grouped outside the destroyed stadium. During conversation, Derek suggested the Sins pair up and seek out other survivors outside the stadium. They suspect Six members, notably Kane, escaped the offering of souls.

Meanwhile, Kane, Jane, and Elliot did indeed escape, due to Astrum, and Kane and Jane are experiencing a relationship issue when he protested in response to Astrum's teasing, that she's not his mate. Elliot "went home", in one of the more random "write a character out of the scene" moments in the RP.

Dan and Nick are currently together, but do not know of the arrangements the other Ordo members are working on. Tyson and Madeline just grouped together.

A nervous breakdown executed in an inconsise manner is still confusing enough to label as "random". Plus, it awkwardly writes him out of a scene when certain characters should probably stick together. But Derek attended to that by suggestion casting a wide net.
