It was a toss-up between this and Objection, but this one conveys the feeling of "now you got the bastard!" better than the latter. I think it's a very recognizable tune from a game most DS owners have or should have played.

- Kirby Super Star Ultra - Masked Dedede Theme

 

This theme is possibly one of my favorite Super Star Ultra themes' date=' and my favorite King Dedede theme of all time. It was made to disguise Dedede, just like how Dedede wears his mask during this fight (although it's extremely obvious). This song goes at a fast enough tempo to kind of disguise the King, although you can still obviously hear the resemblance to the regular King Dedede theme in this. It's a pretty good remix of the original, and just screams "big fight", in my opinion. The beginning starts slow, all royal, foreshadowing something, in my opinion. This sounds a lot like Dedede's regular theme, and when the player hears it, they expect to see him appear in the arena. It then suddenly changes tone, and starts to speed up. At this point, an apparently different person jumps in, shocking the player. The song then sticks to this fast beat for the rest of the match, and it's an overall good, speedy boss theme.

Listening to this music brings back memories, and good memories they are. I remember falling asleep to this music when I was little, which was kind of embarrassing. However, if you listen to this music for long enough, can you honestly blame me? This track is among a bunch of great ones in DKC, but this score shines as definitely being the most peaceful among the crowd. The reassuring piano and the airy lull of other instruments makes it feel like you're in a deep, tranquil ocean. I seriously can't stop listening to this music. This thread needs way more DKC. Bravo, Rare.

from Final Fantasy III

 

I've listened to many boss battle themes from the Final Fantasy series and other RPGs in general, but none really capture the feeling like this one.

From the start to 0:18, you can imagine a strong and menacing enemy suddenly appearing before your party, and their surprise.

After, the song does an amazing job of expressing the struggle and desperation of the party during the battle. The dramatic feeling from the music gives the feeling of an epic Middle Age battle, and makes you really view the boss as something that really must be conquered.

But like most songs from FF3, I feel it's a bit too short. This isn't really a bad thing, as I would prefer a shorter track than a long, stretched-out one.
