Super Mario Bros. 3 in 5 hours:25 minutes:20ish seconds.

Megaman 10 in 51 minutes:30ish seconds (on Normal, not Easy).

Megaman 10 (/w Proto Man) in 58 minutes:20ish seconds.

I've always had a hard time beating games fast.

I've beaten Fallout 3 in 16-ish hours, if that's really anything "special".

It was a bullshit speedrun by me and my friend. We could have done sub-70 or sub-60, but we dicked around on some levels. D:

If by "all of it" you mean all 120 stars, I call bullshit. That's less than one star per minute. <_<

 

Even if you mean beating the third Bowser, you need 70 stars for that barring glitches. So you just have barely over a minute to get each star. And granted some stars are easy to get, but others take more than over a minute.

 

Unless you glitched the game out. Then it takes 17 minutes, or so says the Rikuu guy on YouTube.

I've never done a speed run, but I've heard this guy beat Pokemon Red in an hour. He set a world record or something.

I practiced. xD Seriously, depending on the level of skill you have, a lot of stars can easily be gotten in under a minute. Using shortcuts, certain jumping spots, and just generally speeding yourself up using the belly sliding technique, then it can be done. Especially on the early levels. Those are like cake. Though, I didn't get all 120 stars. THAT, would be impossible. I got around 80. xD

1 minute+ per star. I guess that is reasonable, but some of the stars take more than a minute to actually GET to, and let's not forget animations for getting the star, text boxes, blah blah blah.

 

In an hour's span of time, I probably woudn't even have access to the third floor (with Tick Tock Clock and Rainbow Road).

Well let's see. I got to Lance in 5 hours 13 minutes on HG. I beat SW:TFU in I think 3 hours. I beat SW:ROS in 1 hour. I beat DC2 all the way in 9 hours. And I beat Coliseum in 12 hours.

I enjoy my games and don't rush the experience, but I have tried to speed through some for the lulz.

SMB: 25 minutes

SMB3: 2 hours, 13 minutes. (Damn you, World 8. >_>)

Mega Man 2: 1 hour, 46 minutes (Normal)

NSMBWii multiplayer is too fun to be taken seriously for situations like speed runs, IMO. ^^

No your right. Although I skip text boxes with a murderous speed. I never pay attention to those things during speed runs. xD Yes, some stars do take over a minute to get to, if you can do certain stars in certain levels correctly, it provides quicker access to other stars. Since some stars aren't needed to be gotten in actual order. :P There aren't a terrible lot of animations in the game. The animations that are painful are at the beginning, first starting the game. (I didn't actually start the timing until after the Lakitu bit)

 

I went and actually checked the file after I posted that. 76 stars. You have to take into account that I've owned this game for 7+ years, beaten it completely about 5 times, and I used to play this game nonstop. xD

 

I actually want to do a new speedrun. I'm thinking either SMW or DKC. Any suggestions?

SMW, for sure. That game is so easy to speedrun. I could do it sub-20 minutes, but I always mess up on Star World 3 or 4, one of those.
