Anti-Apocryphal
it's something to keep a thread going. Example: Yesterday i posted a thread. No one responds. Today, i type in bump, and a new post appears.
Maz
just like what he said but i'd like to add on. if your thread becomes inactive you put BUMP so others can see it on today's post, and then they'd post bump can be anything, just one way to write it EX: instead of writing BUMP you can write 'come on post'
Guest
Bring Up My Post. Is the official post. But not many people know that. But you can only bump once every 24 hours' date=' [b']or when your thread is on the 2nd page of the forums it's in.[/b]That's not entirely true. Regardless of the page your thread has fallen to, you must wait the 24 hours. It used to be that you had to wait at least 24 hours AND have your thread no longer on the first page, but with some of the sections that don't get many threads it just wasn't practical so it was changed to just be the 24 hour minimum.
