Jenna pivoted her body in a slow circle, still holding her five cards in her hand, but all thoughts of starting a duel temporarily removed. The park had been fine just moments ago, when she had accepted the duel challenge, but like the commotion earlier, something had happened with no evident explanation for it. Yet in the short few minutes since she had turned her back to the park, this had happened.

 

The ground carried many evident ruptures among its surface, as if the ground had been torn apart by a giant. Trees in the path of the cracks were tilted on their side, their trunks curved like a hunched back. Branches and leaves littered the mounds of grass and dirt, and the wildlife in the park had gone deadly silent. Scarce winds rustled the lingering winds as Jenna gazed around, her heart pounding in her chest.

The sky all of a sudden turned black again. A small tear appeared in the jet black sky. It glowed a bright light inside it, a booming voice was heard by the 4 people in the remains of the park.

 

YOU 4! THE PATHWAY TO THE JUDGEMENT BEGINS HERE! Let the trials, commence!

 

Shinigami got up from the floor as the sky cleared.

 

"W-what was that?"

Itsu looked up in shock. "What the hell was that?!?" She then saw the crack and ran towards it. The six braids that made up the back portion of her head extended outwards and wrapped around Max, securing him. "Hold on!" Itsu cried out as she concentrated. The braidtacles slowly pulled the young man away from the fissure. She helped him up and dusted the man off, looking him over. "You alright?" She asked him.

Jenna jerked her head upwards, wincing as her neck protested the sharp motion. The sky had gone black again, as suddenly as it had earlier, but with one noticeable difference. A small disturbance appeared in the sheet of blackness, a light golden light streaming from it, like the light seen at the end of a dark tunnel, in this case being the sky itself.

 

She squinted at the sky, wondering whether she had simply imagined the roaring voice, but it was evident to her that she had not. The others had shown signs of hearing something, and her heart pounded more forcefully against her ribs. The one thing that stuck out in her memory the most was the word "trials". What did that mean?

And who were they?!"

 

Shinigami was confused at sight the 4 of them had just witnessed, there were so many questions running through his mind.

 

As he got up he felt a sharp pain in his leg and let out a scream.

 

"AHHHHH!!"

 

He looked down at his leg to a massive gash in his ankle, the blood was seeping out at a rapid rate.

 

"S-somebody! HELP!"

Itsu unwrapped her braidtacles from Max and retracted them from him. "You're welcome, but next time, stay away from giant gaping holes in the ground, alright?" She then saw the Duel Disk on his arm, and grinned. "Say, you willing to have a quick bout with me? I'll go easy on you." She walked a few steps away from him to make room, but she didn't appear to have a Duel Disk on her person, aside from an odd bulge on her left arm.

((Hey Kyosuke Kiryu, there were 5 of us. Me, You, Leo, The Final Fan and evilfusion))

 

Max started to remember what happened. He was duel Shinigami and then his Infernity attacked me directly.

He looked down and saw 5 cards.

Lightsworn Chaos Dragon (Synchro)

Lightsworn Dark Dragon (Dark Synchro)

Noble, Lightsworn Servant (Effect Monster)

Rian, Lightsworn Supporter (Effect Monster)

Huan, Lightsworn Spy (Dark Tuner)

 

He was surprised on seeing these as these cards were never seen anywhere...

Max was confused, how did the cards get here? They weren't here before.

Max was thinking, "I don't have Judgment Dragon so these cards should help my deck".

 

Maxs saw Shinigami down there needing help. Max ran over to him trying to help but not knowing what to do.

((Death Sin, I would greatly appreciate if you didn't have Dark Synchros and Dark Tuners atm. You will recieve them later on but not now. Thanks))

 

"I hope you're joking right! I'm not in the state to duel now... However, Max is a decent duelist, what about taking him on, seeing as I never got to see him properly in action..."

Also change your post to you 5 cos there were 5 of us))

 

Max winked and said "Itsu I would be glad to duel you, but remember with the 3 new cards I got 1 wont go easy on you and Ill use them as well as I can"

"Would you mind if I could could I go first" Max asked?

Jenna's eyes flicked from person to person, feeling slightly bewildered. Almost all of them had just taken the recent and perplexing events in stride, aside from a few moments of startled confusion, much like what she had felt. In addition, it occurred to her that Shinigami had inexplicably gotten injured, but considering the state of the park they were in, this was less perplexing than the sky overhead.

 

She shook her head a few times to clear it and refocused on the sky, a subtle shiver passing down her spine, and prompting her to turn away from the dark clouds overhead.

Shinigami stared down at his cards... Infernity Creator, Dark Tuner Infernity Claw and Infernity Shinigami...

 

Could it be that these cards are the reason for all of this?

 

Normally he wouldn't have believed it, but after the day he's had, anything could be possible...

Was this something to do with the 3 cards Shinigamis has?

Or was these sent to me after I was beaten by his 3 cards?

Will these cards beat Shinigamis cards?

Is Shinigami evil or something?

Am I supposed to beat the darkness?

 

"Im talking nonsense" Max said.

 

Max was confused not knowing what this all ment.

Maybe after a duel ill see......"Itsu you gonna duel or not" Max asked?

Itsu smiled and said "Bring it on!" The ovalar spot on the bump on her left arm glowed, and she readied herself. "This here on my left arm is my Duel Projector." Itsu explained. "It is a futuristic version of the Duel Disk that doesn't need any cards to play, and is compatible with any other Dueling system known to man, and then some." She then "drew" her 5 cards. "And by the way, the Projector feeds directly to an HUD in my field of vision. You can't see it because that HUD is part of my normal sight." She then grinned manically some more. "In other words, I'm a cyborg. The Duel Projector is part of my body."

A bunch of black and white pillars erupted from the ground as grey fog settled in. The black pillars had white etchings, while the white pillars had black markings.

"Now I will send Light and Darkness Dragon from my Deck to my Remove From Play Zone to Special Summon Malefic Light and Darkness Dragon!"

 

Malefic Light and Darkness Dragon

LIGHT/Dragon/8/2800/2300

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by removing from play 1 "Light and Darkness Dragon" from your Deck. There can only be 1 face-up "Malefic" monster on the field. Other monsters you control cannot attack. If there is no face-up Field Spell Card on the field, destroy this card. This monster's Attribute also counts as DARK. Negate any card effects that designate this card as a target.

 

A huge dragon, one side black while the other side white, swooped down from the pillars. The black side had white armor with black markings, while the white side had black armor with white symbols. (2800 ATK)

"Now, my Dragon, attack his Wulf! Twilight Plasma!"

A huge bolt of silver glowing slime catapulted itself at Wulf from the dragon's mouth.

((Sorry for not being around.))

 

Chris seemed to be blacked out, right there in the park. Once he regained consciousness, he walked around the park, to see Shinigami in a duel. As he began to walk around the park, he saw people that were at the park before he knocked out. Something seemed different. It seemed to be darker than usual, and the aroma around the park seemed to back that up. Chris decided to go and watch the duels around in the park.

Jenna focused on the duel, already beginning to feel the familiar surge of excitement she normally received when watching a good game. On one side of the field seemed to be a Lightsworn player, whereas on the other, Itsu was commanding cards that she had never seen before. Malefic, they had been called. She had heard of the small set of Malefic monsters, but never these particular cards before.

 

She grinned to herself, but the grin quickly faded as she realized she was still gripping five of her cards. She paused, silently wondering why she had them, before shrugging and returning them to her deck, the disk's shuffler triggering and shuffling the cards. She then extracted the deck and returned them to her deckbox, deactivating her disk, but keeping it on her arm.

Jenna turned her attention from the duel when she realized Shinigami was talking to her. "No, just met them today," she told him. For some reason, that was oddly important to her. She never had trouble meeting new people or talking to new people, yet to meet so many of them at one time was unusual in its own right, especially in the rapid-fire meetings that had occurred in their cases.

 

"I don't go to shops much," she added, glancing over at Max. She refocused on Shinigami. "Did you know any of them before hand?"

"Mind you, my memory is rather hazy, I can't remember what I had for breakfast this morning!"

He laughed at his own joke, which he thought was rather funny.

 

"Hmm, I should probably get going, maybe I'll see you at the card shop, which one do you work at?"
