It belongs to the gods of death, it's like the fate's string.

 

If they cut it you die, end of story.

 

Hades doesn't control anything but the underworld, Fates are the ones to kill the peopple, Hermes brings them to the underworld, Midas and the others judge the dead, and then they are sent to one of the underworlds.

 

Usually that giant plain of funking boring.

I was looking at japan's gods. I tried putting it into context.
