Nope. I'll admit, he's not one of my favorite protagonists, but I like him.

However, I DO think it's ridiculous that the entire series revolves around him. That's like, sue-level protagonist. There are plenty of good protagonists who share the limelight far more often than Ichigo does.

Ichigo is literally incapable of surrender.

 

Recall when Ichigo beat his Inner Hollow to control his Vizard powers, Hollow Ichigo told him that 'King and the Horse' story. He pretty much said the moment Ichigo's resolve wavers, he's going to take control... And unfortunately giving up is a visible demonstration of losing resolve. You'd think Zangetsu would be of some help, but in the Kenpachi fight Zangetsu made clear that he values winning more than anything, if Ichigo quits, Zangetsu probably won't have his back. The ramifications of this are dire, because no matter how outmatched he was, Ichigo knows that the moment he surrenders he'll lose control over his body. He literally cannot back down. In his fight with Ulquiorra, when he said that he had to win, Orihime was rescued and it was clear that until he got pissed off, Ulquiorra was going out of his way not to kill Ichigo. Ichigo had no idea of what the stakes were for this match, and yet, he had no choice but to fight on, unless he wanted his Inner Hollow to pull an involuntary tag team.

We've established a plot, a main villain, and (I suppose) a setting. I still feel like we're missing something however. It's unapparent what it is, but I have a feeling we'll wish we had come across it sooner.

 

I suppose we'll be playing under listed positions, and fill in the rest as NPCs then.

I imagine the RP being two-part; during the first we try to find the source of the infection, with a Hollowified Mayuri as end-boss, with various captains and lieutenants along the way. For part two, we go into the East-Chinese Soul Society and try to take down the Vasto Lorde.

 

In other words, we don't need to come up with any custom villains until Part 2. But spontaneously... some of the Luisenbarn? Barragan-esque (in terms of power, not emotions. Barragan's arrogance came from being so ridiculously supreme compared to everyone else.) Hollows?

I like this, but if we're going to have an end game Mayuri for part one, I don't want him dead by part two. Just more clinically insane.

Also, I don't want him to be a fake Arrancar - Shinigami. Meaning, no random new type of cero, but access to an Arrancar's abilities. Yes he'll maintain Bankai, and he WILL have a Hollowfied portion to it. I'm thinking the poison it would normally emit would slowly but surely transform those who breathe it in, into Hollow like himself. Not to mention, the baby-slug-demon thing would have like, a kickass hollow mask. <3
