Nexev
I think there are four things we are forgetting. 1. The royal guard: Seriously, these guys are supposed to be unbelivably powerful. Where the hell are they? Why are they doing nothing? WHY HAS THE GODS FORSAKEN THIRTEEN! Good villians. 2. Mod souls: This guys have been imprisoned for being a disgrace against nature, apperently if you are a ghost it's cool to go fight and die, but if your a zombie the sheet is on. Needless to say these guys are REALLY pissed and if anyone activated them in strong enough bodies...Good mooks. 3. The afteraterlife: Seriously, if the shinigami are all dead, what happens when they are killed? For that matter what about the Arrancar? They never were sent to hell or Soul Society, they just die. Are their souls destroyed? Wasn't there that whole "Life-death balance thing" that justified the Shinigami killing EVERY SINGLE QUINCY except a few? You know the holocaust reenachtment? So if the souls died and are obliterated doesn't this mean every time someone dies in bleach (besides pure hollows) the world is a inch closer to death? Why didn't the shinigami worry about this? Why didn't Aizen care? Is it going to be "Ha ha I finally am the ruler of the universe" *universe explodes* "Um... all according to plan!". 4. Hell: funking hell, this is were the bad hollows go, and you know what? That's all you'll ever know. You don't know if anyone lives there besides the tortured, how they are tortured, even IF they are tortured. For all we know it could just be a soul searching voyage where the damned repent there sins. WHY IS THIS PLACE SO MYSTERIOUS?! Why did Kubo decide the only thing we needed to know about hell is what it's door looked like? EXPLAIN MANGA! EXPLAIN!!!!! Anyway we could use this. Umbra
Maybe Kubo will borrow a trick from Sergei Lukyanenkov and mke Hell the real world. The "gates of hell" are actually a complex Kidou created by "the Devil" which purifies souls and reincarnates them into the real world without their memories. If we're going with the Hollowified Captains plot, the Royal Guard would actually be our best allies..
Zexaeon
In regards to Question 3, Nex - When a Shinigami dies, its soul is reincarnated into the cycle of Birth in the Real World. They do not retain their memories, they just get reincarnated. In the anime, the Bounts were created because the experimental Souls that had their powers flowed into the Cycle of Birth after they escaped the lab, causing people to be born as Bounts. When a Hollow is killed, the Zanpakuto purifies all its Hollow sins. It then gets sent to Soul Society. However, if its Human sins were too great (since Zans don't fix those), they go to hell. I imagine the same happens to Arrancar. And since most people don't remember their lives as living people, it's safe to assume they probably lose their memories prior to being sent to Soul Society.
Nexev
But when a hollow dies they have the pretty scene with the gates of hell and stuff. When Arrancar die they fall to the floor deadishlike. And hollows eat other hollows and souls, further decreasing the soul count.
Dad
Then' date=' we could create some new Shinigami. One whose power rivals that of Yamamoto, Unohana or Shunsui. He could be one of the villains so that they would stand a chance if Yama decided to unleash Ryuujin Jakka.[/quote'] Awesome idea. They could be like, a Shinigami's exact opposite. They could be another Soul Society who's abilities rival that of ours, Captains and all. +1 Another Soul Society interfering with Rukia's execution sounds fun. It would be Shinigami vs Shinigami, though, which is boring in its own way. I would rather have a Vasto Lorde crew appearing and Hollowify people. Possibly through some sort of viral sickness? Hollowfying some of the Captains' date=' perhaps? That would explain why they would become villains.[/quote'] Exactly what I was thinking. I'm thinking, if it is some kind of infection, and we change the cannon's villain to Mayuri, he could be the creator of the disease, and come across the Soul Society, and take over said Soul Society. Then, use this Soul Society to take over ours. Eh? Meh? I would rather see that the other way around. Mayuri discovers some of Urahara's old research, and finds out how to open a Garganta. Through it, he goes to this other Soul Society, and there finds out about the disease. By bringing it back to our Soul Society, he spreads it and causes massive hollowfication. This could work, but wouldn't that make both Soul Societies evil? I mean, sure, some of us could play villains, but where's the good guys? :/ New chapter is out. http://mangastream.com/read/bleach/93663580/2 GO GO GO! Spontaneous thoughts:• Aizen should stop waiting for Urahara and Yoruichi's arguments. • Gin is actually doing something. Exactly what he's doing' date=' I can't tell - there was a huge explosion in the way.[/b'] The explosion wasn't because of some technique or anything, just so you know. It's because of the power level of his awesomeness. Gin was easily the best thing in that chapter. I hope he doesn't die soon. D: Don't think so negatively. Gin will live on to breed little bastards of his own and give us something to talk about. But seriously' date=' we all know it's coming. And I'm guessing it's Urahara. I think there are four things we are forgetting. 1. The royal guard: Seriously, these guys are supposed to be unbelivably powerful. Where the hell are they? Why are they doing nothing? WHY HAS THE GODS FORSAKEN THIRTEEN! Good villians. Or good guys in general. But, if that was the case, both Soul Societies--should each be evil-- would have gathered an equal amount of strength to combat them. 2. Mod souls: This guys have been imprisoned for being a disgrace against nature, apperently if you are a ghost it's cool to go fight and die, but if your a zombie the s*** is on. Needless to say these guys are REALLY pissed and if anyone activated them in strong enough bodies...Good mooks. I thought the body had to be empty? Why didn't Aizen care? Is it going to be "Ha ha I finally am the ruler of the universe" *universe explodes* "Um... all according to plan!". Thank's Zex. 4. Hell: f***ing hell, this is were the bad hollows go, and you know what? That's all you'll ever know. You don't know if anyone lives there besides the tortured, how they are tortured, even IF they are tortured. For all we know it could just be a soul searching voyage where the damned repent there sins. WHY IS THIS PLACE SO MYSTERIOUS?! Why did Kubo decide the only thing we needed to know about hell is what it's door looked like? EXPLAIN MANGA! EXPLAIN!!!!! Anyway we could use this. Ha. We had done something moderately decent with hell in our last role-play, but meh. We should probably incorporate Soul Societies rom other sections of the World. After all' date=' it's not realistic to think that the Japanese Soul Society presides over the entire world. Ever notice that no one of any other nationality than Japanese ever appears in Bleach? However, the Quincy follow a German motif, Hollows follow a Spanish one. And Chojiro prefers Western-Style over Eastern. So there is probably a Soul Society for other parts of the world, too, such as America, France, stuff like that, and their Zanpakutos are called different things. I imagine that the American / Brittish Soul Society would have "Reapers", and their weapons would like scythes in their unreleased states, due to the common folk lore associated with how souls pass over to the other world in American / English mythology. European Soul Society can even have a River Styx. Maybe there isn't a Spanish Soul Society - maybe they succumbed to Soul Corosion long ago and ended up becoming the First Hollows ever.[/quote'] From what I read, Hollows as we know them were first "discovered" by an English-speaking Soul Society, given their English name and given names. Arrancar were first found by the Spanish and were therefore given Spanish names. Quincies developed their techniques in the German, et cetera. Shinigami are Japanese, with other Soul Societies having something similar but not exactly the same. Did anyone else just picture a "world war" between different Soul Societies? Yes I did. And on that note, a war between two S-Societies is pretty basic. But if we twisted it with the disease, it could make for something beautiful. We would only have 2 Soul Societies to keep things simple. More than likely my friend. More than two would require additional members which we don't seem to have right now. :P But when a hollow dies they have the pretty scene with the gates of hell and stuff. When Arrancar die they fall to the floor deadishlike. And hollows eat other hollows and souls' date=' further decreasing the soul count.[/b'] It's black on black violence all over again. Apologies for my absence. I finally got my 360 fixed and had to spend a day or two alone with her. Now I need to clean my controller.
Nexev
Oh I know, the soul society is hollowfied, so squad zero goes to obleterate them. We are trying to survieve. Aka playing da zombies in zombie survival.
Andx
How exactly did the idea for this RP go from "We're taking the story and doing our own thing as opposed to following the canon material" to "We're hollowfied zombies trying to survive eradication"? I'm a bit confused.
Nexev
The Royal Squad is super strong but they have a reason. IF the gotei become hollows they will be targets. They must survive, using dirty tatics and dirtier alliances.
Dad
I don't think the virus should necessarily make them zombies, but give them a costly strength. Their abilities are enhanced, but the cost of their life. A sapping energy maybe?
Nexev
Oh it's just that being a hollow is a bit like zombies in my mind, that's all. So the plan has a MArvel Zombie feel.
PrimalFear
Wow I missed a lot sorry I just read up on what has been happening. Anyway, I like the sound of this rp so far. The only thing I want to ask is are we playing the hollowfied captains/Gotei or are we going to be playing the Zero Squad? Another question is, Would all the Gotei be effected by this virus or will it only be a few? Either way this should make for an interesting idea to roleplay with. Ohh yeah I almost forgot would the Kido Corps be Effected by the virus? If not would they be working with the Zero Squad?

Umbra
I was thinking that not all the captains were Hollowified, but only the Mayurity. (bad pun.) I'm this would look something like Ichigo's transformation in the second-to-last filler arc, during his battle with Zangetsu. We would be playing unaffected Shinigami - not necessarily Royal Guards, not even necessarily with a Bankai. Some of us could even get affected during the RP.[spoiler=My alpha-version of the plot.]The Shinigami are coming to an end. Seireitei is facing a horror unlike any other. Yesterday, a group of powerful Hollows stormed out of the Research and Development Institute and started attacking Shinigami around the city. The Hollows carried something. Their black reiryoku was overflowing with a disease that infested the Shinigami they were fighting and turned them into Hollows. Now, the situation is getting worse by the hour. The thirteen divisions are trapped in their barracks while the Hollows scourge on the city. I don't know how many captains we've lost. We've heard nothing from the RDI; either they're all dead, or afraid to contact us. That bastard Mayuri caused this, I swear he did. I will avenge my comrades, if it's the last thing I do. Hisagi Shuuhei,April 24. Hisagi-san's note is about two weeks old, you notice. You've counted the days since the infestation began. You have stumbled upon the Ninth Division barracks, and found the note among the ruins. As usual, you haven't found any bodies or other survivors. The (X) of you are alone. What doesn't go in the opening post: Mayuri has travelled to another Soul Soceity, ruled by Vasto Lordes who have learned how to convert Souls into their ranks without destroying them - a form of soul burial. They use a special Cero to convert the victim's reiryoku into that of a Hollow, and subjugate them through their superiority. What they don't know is that this black reiatsu is highly contagious - their Soceity is full of Hollows, immune to this, so why should they know? Mayuri catches the sickness before returning to Seireitei, and infects the RDI as a result.
Zexaeon
Hmmm. Plot is interesting. I'll mull it over. @Nex: The flashy scene with the gates of hell only occurs when the Hollow commited too many scenes as a human. -.- Not all Hollows go to hell you know. Most of them get purified and disappear in black dust. Arrancar all have their own ways of dying. Zommari vanished into black wisps, Arroniero exploded into goo, Ulquiorra disintigrated, and some of the others lay down and died. But Arrancar are not regular Hollow anymore. They are Hollow with Shinigami powers. And Shinigami don't vanish in some flashy death scene when they die. So reasonably, not all Arrancar will either. As for Hollows eating Souls, yes they do. But that doesn't mean the world is gonna eventually die. The Cycle of Rebirth doesn't only use reincarnated souls. New Souls are also born all the time, from what I've read. There certainly isn't a population problem.
Skuldur
@Zex: Actually, I don't think Ulquiorra is dead. I think Kubo stated somewhere that he would appear again.
Nexev
But Zex, this is just s important. If new souls are born all the time, the quincy's weren't actually doing anything dangerous. THE SS DID THE HOLOCAUST CAUSE THEY FELT LIKE IT! Those bastards.
PrimalFear
I love the plot Umbra, I feel as it's missing something but I'm not sure what. The only question that I will pose now as a result of the virus and it being highly contagious if we fight Shinigami who is infected for a period of time we are highly likely to catch this ourselves so in the end we'll just be infecting ourselves. So should we have something that can nullify the contagious part of it for when we fight? Something similar to a Gigai perhaps but made specifically for combat and protects us against the virus. My only problem's with having a Gigai like this is that it needs to have a down fall to using it something similar to what Rukia's Gigai was so that unless where fighting we have to take it off and still have the chance of being exposed to the infection, also the RDI have all been infected so is their anyone left who can make it. Nexev
Wait a soul society run by Vasto Lords? Isn't that like a police squad run by criminals? A national defense army composed of terroists? A deportion office run by mexicans?
Umbra
PrimalFear, the solution: Antibodies. The survivors are, for some reason, not as easily affected by the virus as the rest. I'd recommend not being completely immune, to add some sort of threat - and possible character development - to the situation. Being able to control your Hollow powers without losing your self-consciousness Wait a soul society run by Vasto Lords? Isn't that like a police squad run by criminals? A national defense army composed of terroists? A deportion office run by mexicans? The Vasto Lorde in question have access to a virus that can turn captain-class Shinigami into Hollows; if the criminals had nukes, and could feed off the souls of policemen, you bet they'd go for the police. Nexev
No, soul society is basically the anti hollow world. IF the hollows control it the place would be destroyed. Hollows running soul society would be really weird. It would be like the exterminators are run by flies. Wow, Zex got banned. He could have gotten Rox to do it so he won't get distracted or maybe something sinistery. Meh, he'll be back.

A Soul Society, by any definition, is simply a place where souls go after being sent on; the afterlife. A Soul Society run by Vasto Lordes would be an equivalent of Hueco Mundo, with the key difference that it was overtaken from Shinigami-equivalents. Nexev
But why is Soul Society called Soul Society then? Was Yanmoto really lazy? And why would Mayuri go to hollow territory, he's not dumb enough to walk into a place full of vasto lords with the power to hollowfiy him. Unless he wanted to be hollowfied to study it. Two, it's possible that Mayuri hadn't studied the realm before the first time anyone from Seireitei went there. >.> He didn't know it would be packed with Vasto Lordes, and didn't realize it until it was too late. Nexev
I guess but your post thing before hand gives the distinct impression that in the other soul society hollows replaced the shinigami, and everyone's okay with that. It would be bizarre surreal and odd but will explain why that soul society wasn't liberated. Also in Marvel Zombies the virus originated from a Zombified Sentry who came from an alternate universe, his existence spreaded the virus. Maybe it doesn't have to be a soul society, maybe just a hollow.

Maybe it doesn't have to be a soul society, maybe just a hollow. You assume that there are non-Hollows left in the Other Soul Society. I don't know why. Yes, the Vasto Lorde have taken the Shinigami's place. They venture into whatever real world their SS is associated with, bring them back and affect them. The hollows that are strong enough to become Vasto Lorde join their ranks, and those who don't eventually get eaten by the others and replaced.
