Tifa is obviously there because Cloud needs a girl to get him to shut up. However, Vincent, Zack, or Genesis would have been awesome.

The funniest thing is, you could switch Vaan out of the party the minute you have all the members and not miss him for the entire damn story.....

 

 

But NOOOOOO, they have to force you into playing as him in the cities >_<

I wanted to walk around as Balthier.

I always had Ashe as my party leader.

 

 

Balthier is one of my favorite characters ever, but it just felt weird controlling him.

 

 

 

 

Ashe felt perfect though.

I just segregated both teams into male and female....it works.

Vaan (Leader), Penelo, Fran

 

I felt bad for Fran but oh well.

I usually had Ashe or Penelo as female team captain. I think I chose Basch as my male captain, or Balthier. Oh yeah, whose your favourite esper? Mine is naturally Zalera.

I don't have a favorite, I liked them all.

Granted, but I loved Zalera's special attack.

It's nice to have a main character, but I hate how you're FORCED to use them all the time.

 

They can be a main part of the story, but not making the player have to play as them all the time would be better. It lets everyone share the limelight.

I'm pretty sure you cna play someone else if Vaan is KOed.

No, you play as Vaan whenever you're in town. That's what was great about IV, as it gave you the opportunity to walk around as whichever character you please, and Cecil, the only character that's in your team the entire time, deserves his main character position.

Which is why I liked V and VI where the main character was Bartz and Terra, but they weren't forced into the lime light.
