Tkill93
1. Resident Evil, do I really need to explain? This game has provided chills and scares ever since the first games. Even though Resident Evil 4 wasn't as scary as it could be the series is still amazing. 2. Silent Hill, The town of 'Silent Hill' is a resort town that exists in at least three layers or "dimensions", the first being the normal, populated town, the second being a silent, apparently abandoned world veiled by supernaturally thick fog, and the third being a dark and decaying world filled with disturbing imagery. Demonic and disfigured creatures roam the streets and buildings, their appearances usually taking the form of private fears and/or insecurities of whomever witnesses/created them. The protagonist sometimes shifts between the ethereal foggy world and the blood-soaked "Otherworld", where the monsters are more numerous. Also if you've played games 1-3 all the way through you'd realize a huge twist that really makes you think Spoiler: There not really monsters, they're real people. If someone hasn't played all the way through just as and I'll explain. 3. Fatal Frame, a game that many people haven't heard of. Well you're given a camera and the only way to kill the demons around you is to exorcise them with the camera by taking pictures of them. The only way to kill them is to let them get close to you and it does get creepy. 4. Doom, the game focuses on an anonymous marine who is transferred to an extraterrestrial base on a routine mission. Following the unexpected arrival of demons via experimental teleportation gates, the marine is forced to fight his way through a variety of demonic monsters to reach safety. Also in both cases, the protagonist visits Hell, though in the original Doom, it is the third episode Inferno (The Ultimate Doom adds a fourth, Thy Flesh Consumed), whereas in Doom 3 it is only one level. 5. Eternal Darkness, The plot of the game revolves around protagonist Alexandra Roivas, who is investigating the mysterious murder of her grandfather Edward Roivas. While exploring his Rhode Island mansion, she discovers a secret room containing, among other odd items, a tome bound with human skin and bone. When she reads this book, The Tome of Eternal Darkness, she experiences a scene in the life of Pious Augustus, a respected Roman Centurion in 26 BC. Pious is led by mysterious voices to an underground temple, where he chooses one of three mysterious artifacts. The artifact transforms him into an undead warlock, the Liche, and makes him slave to one of three Ancients, powerful godlike beings whose "Essences" are incarnated as the artifacts 6. Other? I haven't encountered too many fans or games like this, so why not post it here. I chose Silent Hill, but a close second of mine is Fatal Frame
CrazyKev
I have to say Resident Evil, RE4 wasn't as scary as the others but its harder because the enemies are alot faster, my favorite of the RE series has to be the RE3 because it had Nemesis popping up alot which made it scary. The Slime Lord
Does Manhunt count? Had they not banned that game in Europe, I never would have heard of it.
