This is my First Attempt at a Fan-Fic. I hope u like it.

SO Here Goes.

 

P.S. Please do not ask to be a character, as i already have all my characters or will have by the time they are needed. I'm Sincerely SORRY about this.

 

P.P.S If any name in my Fan-Fic is similar to any existing character in another Fan-Fic plz tell ME and I would be Happy to change it, All my Names are made in my Head without citing any Source as an Inspiration.

 

Synopsis

 

Ben Gannsin is a normal teenage boy living in Arrotomae City, The Twin City to Neo Domino City. Ben, along with the help of his best friend, Carmen Sullivan, will soon discover that a prestigious Duel Monsters Tournament is a cover-up for something much more sinister. As Ben tries to disrupt the forces of evil, will he lose his soul to the very forces he is trying to stop?

 

[spoiler=Chapter 1 (A New Surprise) ]

The rain was beating against the window of the little square room creating a steady rythm. There was only one person sitting in the room and he showed no interest in the rain or the rythm it created. Instead this boy was busy looking at himself in the mirror. The boy was about 17 with green eyes and black hair that gave the impression that he had just gotten out of bed. His attire wasn't much different than the clothes one would see people wear when they passed on the street. He wore a pair of jeans that hugged tightly to his legs, his grey shirt had an image of a man in mid-transformation into a phoenix, and his shoes were black slip-ons. Theo nly cause for alarm was the amount of jewlry the boy had on, he had a ring throught his lip, a necklace that bore resemblance to a silver snake coiled around an upside-down star inscribed in a circle, and a studded bracelet on his right hand. His left arm was left bare in reserve for his Duel Disk. This boy was a duelist, and a rather good one, as he won the Kaiba Invitational Duel Tournament two years in a row, a feat unheard of since its inception twelve years ago.

 

The boy finally looked away from the mirror, and focused his attention now to the television on the stand in the corner. A news man was on the screen reading today's news, "This season has brought us record amounts of rain, almost double what we would see in any other year. Experts are baffled as to why there would be such a dramatic increase in the amount of precipitation, and warn that anyone who is togo out should proceed with utmost precaution," the man finished with a sigh.

 

The man continued talking, his face revealing more and more emotion the further he read, "Another student of Arrotomae High School has went missing as of last night. Mitchell Nebans' mother reported him missing when he did not come home after he reportedly went out to duel with some friends. Mitchell's disappearance marks the fifth report of a missing high school student this month. Authorities are looking into every case determining any similairties, and they urge people to be on the lookout, as these disappearances may be gang related." When the man finished he looked up from his notes.

 

When the boy in the room heard the name, his full attention was then directed to the television. The boy said to himself, "so now Mitchell has gone missing along with Eric, Nicole, Grant, and Sunny. Seems to me someone doesn't like honors students or duelists."

 

Just then a knock came on the boys door, "Enter," he said.

 

A beautiful girl entered the room. She had scarlet colored hair that was neck length and soft blue eyes. As she enterd she said, "Hey, Ben did you here about Mitchell?"

 

Ben looked up and was taken aback. What he saw was astonishing the girl was wearing a black and white plaid miniskirt that barely came to here mid thighs and a black button up shirt that had the last three buttons undone to where he could look down it and see her black bra, around her collar she wore a loosened white tie. She dressed like this every day, yet it never failed for her beuty to hit Ben all of a sudden.

 

Finally Ben found the words he was looking for, "Carmen the News 12 anchor literally just finished that story, how the Hell do you know abut that. He would have been covering that story while you walked here."

 

Carmen gave a smile she reserved only for Ben, and said, "Silly Ben you know how, I've been here since 6:30 this morning."

 

Ben looked Bewildered, "Wait! You have been here that long, yet you're just now coming to see me, what held you up?"

 

Carmen stared apologetically, and explained, "Well your mom actually stopped me and had a talk about the two of US! Can you believe it? Apparently she thought we were toghether, I set her straight though!"

 

Ben said only half jokingly, "Wait! You mean we're not together! Then why is it that we kiss when we see each other, which by the way hasn't happeened yet. Also, why do we spend so much time together?

 

Again Carmen was apologetic, "I'm sorry, oh and here is your kiss," and she leaned into him and kissed him on the lips with the softest touch of hers. Ben pulled Carmen toward him and wrapped her in his arms.

 

"Remind me why we aren't together, Carmen?"

 

"You know why Ben, If we were to be serious and then things get sour, I couldn't risk losing you as a friend. You are much to important to me. I love you but I'm not ready for a relationship. I really am sorry, I want to be with you I just can't. So for now can't you just accept being really good friends."

 

Ben wanted to say no but Carmens eyesmade him weak, so instead Ben met her halfway "OK, but promise me I'll be the one when you are ready for a relationship."

 

"You will be I promise. Besides I don't really find anybody at school attractive."

 

The News Anchor was finishing up his morning report, " And in other news, Mokuba Kaiba has announced that he will be holding an open discussion today at Kaiba Arena at 2:00 PM today. It is there where he will unveil the new rules for the upcoming Kaiba Invitational Duel Tournament."

 

Ben stared at the television in disbelief, "No way, It's that time of year already, I can't believe it. What do you say we go to the meeting, hey Carmen?"

 

"What about school you genius. I suppose you wann skip right? Well count me in, I'll do anything to get out of Ms. Tatola's French class!"

 

"Great! now let's go or else we'll be late for Mr. Gable's Pysics class."

 

"He wouldn't care Mr. Gable is amazing."

 

"I wanna avoid any unnecessary trouble.

 

The two friends got up and waled to the door. Ben let Carmen out, then left himself pulling the door shut behind him.

 

 

[spoiler=Chapter 2 (Tournament Start)]

 

Ben stared anxiously at the clock, it seemed to be standing still. There was five minutes until he and Carmen would be sneaking out to go listen to Mokuba announce the tournament guidelines and its opening. The last five minutes dragged on untill finally, after what seemed like forever, the bell rang. Ben gathered his belongings and headed for the door, with a last backwards look to Carmen, he left. Before he got halfway down the hall, Carmen had caught up, and slipped her hand into his.

 

"Oh, hey Carmen" Ben said.

 

"This is exciting isn't it, Ben"

 

"You mind being a little more quiet, you'll draw attention to us," Ben whispered.

 

"Oh, I'm sorry Ben."

 

Ben and Carmen snuck out the back, and walked through the back alleys. They continued walking until they reached the Kaiba Arena. At the door they were met by a security guard. The guard looked up from his clipboard and scoweled at the pair until he said, "Can I help you?"

 

"We're here for Mr. Kaiba's Announcement," They said in unison.

 

"You duelists?"

 

"Yeah," Ben said.

 

"Duelists enter through the side door," and with that the guard turned to go inside.

 

Ben and Carmen walked around to the side entrance. There was a guard at this entrance as well. This guard had a duel disk on his arm. The man saw them coming and activated his duel disk.

 

The guard placed a card on his disk and said, " I summon Dark Blade in Attack Mode (1800 ATK)."

 

Ben pulled out his deck from his side and pulled his duel disk out of his bag and put it on. The duel disk shuffled Ben's deck. Ben drew five cards and said, "I summon XX-Saber Boggart Knight in Attack Mode (1900 ATK), and use his abiity to Special Summon X-Saber Airbellum in Attack Mode (1600). Then I play Saber Slash to destroy your Dark Blade. Now Boggart Knight and Airbellum attack him directly (4000-3500=500). Then I play Hinotama dealing 500 damage to your lifepoints(500-500=0). I believe that was Duel"

 

Carmen gave a cheer, "Good job, Ben!"

 

The Guard lowered his arm and stared in amazment befor he could manage to say, "enter."

 

Before Ben entered the Arena, Ben showed the guard a card that Read, "Kiaba Invitational Champion."

 

The guard stared, "You could have just shown me that card and I would have let you in with no trouble. Why'd you duel Me?"

 

"You didn't pose much of a problem anyway and I dueled you because I was bored," and he and Carmen entered th arena to take their seats.

 

While they were taking their seats, Ben and Carmen saw Mokuba approaching a podium. Mokuba was now 21 years old and replaced his brother as the Chairman/Ceo of Kaiba Corp. Mokuba was dressed in a black three-piece suit with a white tie. Mokuba raised his hand, and the crowd grew silent.

 

"Thank you all for coming I'll make my statement as brief as possible. To start with, this year's Kaiba Invitational will not be held in this Arena. Instead it will take place in the streets much like Battle City did. Second, each duelist will recieve four Duel Activation Cards, these cards are how a duelist will initiate a duel with another duelist. If a duelist is shown a card they must accept the challenge. If a duelist loses the must relinquish a Duel Activation Card to their opponent. When a Duelist loses all four cards they will drop out of the tournament. The finalists will be the first four people to collect 40 DACs. The finalists will present their DACs to a tournament official at a local duel center for confirmation. The tournament will start in two weeks time. Duelists present can pick up their DACs at the exits. Others will have to register at their local duel center to recieve their DACs. Thanks again for coming and I hope to see you at the Finals. Oh, and there will be a surprise spin on this tournament that will be revealed when it gets underway. Best of luck to you all."

 

As Mokuba Kaiba, left a roar arose from the crowd. Everyone rushed to the exits to pick up their DACs. Ben and Carmen were among the last ones out. At the exit a table had been set up and peple were handing duelists packs tha undoubtedly had DACs in them. Ben took his pack, and Carmen took hers. They looked at each other with a look of triumph on their faces.

 

 

[spoiler=Chapter 3 (A New Threat)] A hooded figure walked down a dimly lit, stone corridor. At the end there stood a door ajar expelling a faint light, from inside came hushed whispers. The hooded figure pushed the door open to reveal th roo beyond; inside there was a long wooden table with 13 chairs arund it, and a low iron chandileir with 13 candles lighting the room. At the head of the sat a man who wore a purple cloak over what appeared to be aset of plate mail, and in his lap lay the helm. To the side of the man a white tiger lay before a blazing fire in a fire place along the wall opposite the door. The man in armor noticed the hooded man, and he waved him into an empty chair. The man took his place to the right of the other man. The Armored man then spoke, "Are my suspicions confirmed?"

 

The hooded man replied, "Aye, they are confirmed, there will be a Tournament and the rules have been changed."

 

"Good, Are our men in place?"

 

"Aye, we have our people planted within the Tournament."

 

"Then everything will go according to plan."

 

Another hooded figure down the table hesitated before asking, "Master, I do not see how a Duel Monsters Tournament will help us attain our goals?"

 

"Fool! How many times must I explain, while the Tournamnet is happening Duel Spirits are the most active, think about it Tournament duels all over the city at one time. The Duel Spirits will be suseptible to our power and we can proceed with our plan."

 

"Forgive my doubt, master?"

 

The cloaked man did not acknowledge the man's apology; instead he snapped his fingers, and two armored men came in and grabbed the man. The pulled him out in the hall and into another room. from the other room came a loud blood-curdling scream.

 

"Anybody else want to doubt my plan? If not, then you are excused. Go forth and carry out my will."

 

The hooded men all left in a frantic rush, not wanting to upset their master and end up like their peer. The man stood up and walked over to the fire. He looked into the fire and closed his eyes as if in thought. he opened his eyes again and addresed the Tiger.

 

"Sometimes I wonder how the world became so calloused and violent."

 

The Tiger gave a low growl and lowered its head and went back to sleep.

 

The cloaked man chuckled, " Soon I will remedy this world of its ailment, and then we can all live in a perfect world."

Apart from a few minor errors and a completely unoriginal story, it's alright. BUT, there's barely anything.
