Naruto and Neji panted, exhausted from Ronove, who had vanished in a flurry of golden butterflies.

"Who was that guy?" Naruto asked, wiping some blood from his mouth.

"I don't know," Neji answered. "But he said his master sent him, right? We'd best be careful."

Naruto hesitated before he spoke. "Neji."

"Yes?"

"I need to go to Kumo. Tell Hinata that I'll talk to her first thing when I come back."

"On one condition."

"What's that?"

"You make a promise. Promise me that's what you'll do, and I'll hold you to that."

"Sure thing, Neji. Yeah! I promise that I'll talk to Hinata!"

"I'm glad to hear. I'll see you off, then."

 

Two days later, as Naruto confronted his dark self...

 

"You're a fool for letting them make a fuss over you!" Dark Naruto argued. "Those guys lied to us all this time! They made up rules to exclude us, remember? We suffered, both of us, and it hurt! I'm the only one who understands you! Don't believe those guys!"

"I know. They villagers are important to me, but there's something else I have to believe in first. I'm not going to believe in the me, who believes in myself, and I won't believe in the villagers, who believe in me. No, I'll believe in myselef, in the me they trust!"

"Ha! Charming words, Naruto. But, what about Hinata? She loves you, and what have you've done?"

"I already got lectured about that by Neji. Hinata loves me, and that's not something I can just ignore. Once I beat the Kyubi, I'll answer her feelings, and to do that, I have to beat you. That octopus guy made me realize something. He doesn't doubt himself, and he doesn't sulk. He's proud of himself."

"So what, I'm holding you back? Then who the hell am I?"

"I was able to be strong because of you, that's how I got this far."

"Then what should I do?"

"That's simple. You have to become me, because you are me. Thanks for everything, but it's enough now."

As Dark Naruto fade away, Naruto stood up, smiling over his latest victory. "Hey guys, I-"

 

Naruto dropped in horror as he saw Yamato and Motoi lying dead on the ground. "Hey, Mister Motoi!" Standing above the two fallen ninja was a three-eyed machine with four arms, the lower ones seeming to resemble regular hands, the upper ones looking to have claws. The legs were regular robotic legs, only instead of feet there were the miniaturized wheels of a tank. The machine took off a green top hat and bowed to Naruto before flying off via rocket boosters on its feet. Enraged, Naruto's eyes changed into those of the Kyubi's as a Rasengan formed in his hand, but it was too late, for the machine had already left.

 

Naruto watched as a red-haired girl stood before the body of Motoi.

"Did you do this!?" Naruto screamed at the girl.

"Huh? No, this man was dead when I got here. I saw that robot fly off, but I have no idea what it is. I'm just here to collect some souls, so shut up or I'm going to have to kill you too."

"Collect...his souls?"

"Yeah, I'm a Shinigami. What of it? Actually, come to think of it, how can you see me? Ah well, these souls need to be judged, so see ya!"

Naruto quickly grabbed onto the girls arm just as she began to disappear. In just a few seconds, he found himself sitting in a boat.

"Looks like you chose to kill yourself," the red-haired girl smiled. "Why?"

"Those guys you just brought, they didn't deserve to die!"

"Everyone dies, kid. After that you get judged. After that, well, it all depends on what Yama's judgment is."

"Yama? Judgment?"

"Ask questions later. Since you followed me here, you're dead, so keep quiet and sit down."

 

After a while, the boat made it's way in front of a small desk. The red-haired girl took out a scythe and skipped to a green-haired girl at the desk. "Oh Yama-san! Good news, not people died today. Well, this blond kid here jumped for the ride, but still. Anyway, I'm beat. I'm gonna take a nap and you can get on with the judging. Bye!"

As the red-head left, the girl at the next nodded. "Have a nice rest, Komachi. Anyway, name?"

Naruto pushed to the front. "I'm Naruto Uzumaki! Listen, I came here bye accident, but listen, some kind of machine came in and killed two of friends and I-"

"Stop!" The girl at the desk raised her hand. "Well, since you decided to cut in line, that's already a huge deduction. Let's see, Naruto Uzumaki, correct? We've got countless accounts of committing pranks in your younger years, a couple accounts of murder, assisting in the escape of wanted criminal Sasuke Uchiha-"

"Assisting in escape? Come on, I couldn't beat him!"

"....Interrupting me while I'm handing out judgment - that's another deduction right there - hijacking a ride before your death, and ignoring the feelings of a girl in love. Alright, that's about it for your negatives. Care to defend your case?"

"I swore that I would answer Hinata's feelings. I will stop Sasuke, and to do that I need more power. I have to save the ninja world, to end the cycle of hatred. My father, the villagers, everyone believes in me. I've tried to make up for my childish actions, really. As for Mister Motoi, he was killed by a renegade robot, but I need him."

"Only them? Other people have died, too. You don't want to save them, too?"

"Some people have chosen to give their lives for their own cause. Mister Motoi and octopus guy are good friends, and-"

"Time's up. Okay, time for your sentence. You did alright defending your case, except you forgot to apologize for interrupting me. And you're boring me. Yeah, I'm sending you to Hell."

Naruto felt his heart sank. He couldn't go to Hell, not now. "Wait, how about a deal?"

"A deal? Alright, make it fast."

"Uh...fight me! If I win, you let Mister Motoi, and myself go! If I lose, then you can send me to the bottom of Hell if you want."

"You're pretty confident, aren't you? Okay then, I-"

 

"Wait!" came a girl's voice. Naruto and Shikieki turned to see Temari and Yamato, who were being lead off by demons in to the afterlife. "Naruto, if you win, I'm coming with you!"

Naruto smiled. "Of course! You and Shikamaru make a great couple, you know!"

"Just add us to the deal!" Yamato shouted.

Naruto turned back to Shikieki. "Can you include them, too?"

Shikieki shrugged. "Sure, why not? Let us hope it was the right choice."

You used "Person I don't know > Person I don't like" before.

 

No, that was Person I Don't Know > Other Person I Don't Know But Who I Dislike Anyhow.

She's immortal, lives in hell and has her own shinigami and a stalker mirror that she can use to see anything you ever did as well as a Rod of Remorse that carries the weight of your sins and that she beats people up with.

 

Even Yukari, the one manipulates borders and just about everything in Gensokyo says that she, the main character and the princess of ghosts are no match for the yama together. But then again she's from the land of overpowered freaks so it doesn't really matter.;__;
