Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Henderson, two men who consider themselves authors, were deciding that the Dune series should have another novel.

"I do say, Kevin, what shall we do for the next novel?" Brian queried, holding a pipe to his mouth while speaking with a fake British accent.

In an equally fake accent, Kevin said, "Ooh, I've read a perfectly astounding theory on TV Tropes that says Dune, Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, and even Terminator all take place within the same universe."

There was a knock on the door. Brian, after swallowing a joint, went up to open the door, only to see a blonde girl dressed in a blue dress and gray armor.

"Can I help you?" Brian asked.

"Yes, you can," the girl said emotionless. "My master is a fan of the Dune series, and he has asked me to ensure that you guys do not, as he put it, "rape such a fantastic series any further.""

"That's too bad for you, then," Kevin said. "You see, our deplorable writing skills actually break the fabric of time and space, allowing us to summon a character from the series at our whim once a day. Summon, Paul Atreides!"

A man materialized before Saber, his eyes glowing an unnatural blue.

"Oh, great, you had to do the summon," the man said to Brian and Kevin.

"Look, Paul," Kevin said. "We stole, er, inherited the series, so you work for us now, and we say you kick this girl's ass."

"Oh, fine." Paul charged at the girl, who took out a sword and began to swing it at him. Paul grabbed the sword between his left middle and index fingers, then kicked the girl in the head.
