OOC: Sorry went to otakon this weekend.

Luther looked at the attacking warrior with hate as it struck down his Fenrir.

"Fenrir may fall but you lose 600 lifepoints because a monsters fangs was destroyed and when it's destroyed it removes it's self from play to decrease your lifepoints by 600." Luther said thru clenched teeth.

Kolobos watched with a smile as once again Veroz's attack didn't find it's target. Veroz looked less then pleased. He slammed his huge sword of fire into the ground in frustration, steam seemed to be coming from his nose with his heavy breathing. The other Monolith, Eltab, turns to face Kolobos, his eyes begin to narrow with a look of pure hate.

Kolobos just shakes his head.

"See what happens when you don't pay attention? You may be the master of the old world, but today's battles are a lot different. And now I have to do this!"

Kolobos removes 100 Life points from himself and then takes a counter off his Millennium Globe to keep them both in play. He looks over the Field, taking in all possible moves. He then takes the top card of his Deck and adds it to his hand.

"I must admit Mikhail, you have surprised me. You have shown much determination in our epic confrontation. You have even shown the Monoliths of Torment that mere mortals still have the strength to fight, but this darkness within you is what there desire. And I believe that this is it!"

He examines the three cards in his hand and chooses one. He is about to place it on the Field, but instead places it back into his hand. Again he looks over them, and this time takes a different card and places it onto the Field. He keeps his hand over it, covering the card while he speaks.

"OK, this is it Mikhail."

Kolobos removes his hand from the card.

"DEAD!" Booms Eltab as the Monolith of Pain points at Mikhail.

"First I think we need to get rid of that little card you have on the Field, don't you? So by sending one of my face-up monsters on the Field to the Graveyard I can destroy any face-down cards in our Spell/Trap Zone. So first lets get rid of Bael Guard."

A black ring circles round the Bael Guard, she looks around her, her sword drawn. Then from within the black ring, two figures shot up. They look like living shadows, they eyes as red as blood. The Bael Guard swings at them, but her swords passes through them like there aren't even there. She grits her teeth as the two shadow beasts engulf her. She screams out in agony, as there pull her into darkness, and the ring is gone.

"And now since I have made my sacrifice, I can now select a number of card equal to the Level of my destroyed monster. And since I sacrificed a Level 4 monster, I can destroy up to 4 face-down Spell or Trap Cards. And the best thing is, that any card destroyed cannot be activated this turn. So no surprises from you this turn I'm afraid."

Suddenly the same black circle appears beneath Mikhail's only card on the Field, and from the darkness the Shadow beasts come forth and grab hold of his card. They disappear back into the depths with Mikhail's card. Veroz now takes a step forward, looking down onto Mikhail.

"NO MORE CARDS TO PLAY, NO MORE MONSTERS TO HIDE BEHIND." Veroz clinches his fist, and his eyes flash with anger. "YOU WILL FEEL OUR POWER, THE LEGION OF SHADOWS IS KNOCKING ON YOUR DOOR."

"No..." said Mikhail, in quiet despair, sinking to his knees within his own mind...

The dark spirit bowed his head. "I... I am sorry."

"No..." repeated Mikhail softly.

'There is only one thing to be done...' said the spirit quietly.

Mikhail, though unable to read the spirit's thoughts, could tell exactly what he was thinking. "But you said..."

'It doesn't matter!' roared the spirit in fury. 'I will not have someone who would not cast me out be seized by the Legion of Darkness.'

"And you think I can't protect myself?" asked Mikhail, his voice acidic.

'Not against these foes,' replied the dark form.

"For someone who is so dark, you seem... very... not evil," noted Mikhail.

The spirit almost laughed. 'The Legion of Shadows does this to people who come into contact with it... unfortunately, some of the... darkness rubbed off on me. I am still quite in control of my... form, unlike some poor souls who could not escape.'

"Where do these Monoliths come into this?" asked Mikhail.

'Well...' replied the spirit slowly, 'I am not exactly sure. But, I shall tell you all I know...

There are four Monoliths: Veroz, the Monolith of Suffering; Eltab, the Monolith of Pain; Kashian, the Monolith of Anguish; and finally Tauron, Monolith of Sorrow. These four are the fountains from which spouted the original Legion of Darkness, an unknown time thousands of years ago. They were the commanders of the armies of shadows, and an evil necromancer led them... see, the Monoliths, until they have been... supplied enough energy, cannot live without a human leader, a human leader with a dark heart to feed the Monoliths from his own soul. I... think that this Professor may be that man.

But then again, the Monoliths were sealed away by a mystic force... a force which, legend says, can only be unlocked when a certain duelist defeats the commander whom to the Monoliths are bound and wins the Monolith's card prisons from him, then he must sacrifice himself to seal them away. This Professor... or a force he serves... must have located the Monoliths from their ancient and accursed tombs. But... nobody would entrust all four Monoliths to another person... See, when one is in possession, in what may pass for "control" of them, if the Monoliths feed off one's soul, then they replace the pieces they take with pure, unbroken darkness, each of them inspiring their own malevolence.

So, I am of the opinion that the duelist for the prophecy is near, for the fate of them, and the fact of the carrier of the Monoliths is entwined in ways that cannot be described. But... ARGH!

The dark spirit screamed in pain as he slipped away, dragged by an invisible force away from Mikhail, until he had disappeared...

And before Mikhail knew it, he was in command of his exhausted body. He looked around for the spirit, who was being... absorbed, almost, by the two Monoliths.

"Leave him be!" cried Mikhail.

The spirit turned it's dark head. "Go!" it hissed at him, it's voice already sounding weaker in the grasp of these two monsters...

Kolobos watches the confusion flash through the eyes of Mikhail, and then looks towards Veroz. The huge Monolith of Suffering is grinning, showing a row of razor sharp teeth. He takes a deep breath and closes his eyes. Images shot through his head again. Finding the tomb of Anubis, his fathers death when the tomb collapsed, gaining control of the Millennium Globe and his Duel with Pegasus. He opened his eyes again and gazed upwards and locked eyes with Veroz.

"STOP WASTING TIME YOU WHELP!" Boomed Veroz."FINISH THIS NOW, OR I WILL!"

Dr. Kolobos reached inside his cloak, and pulled out a clenched fist. Opening it he revealed the Millennium Globe. The globe began to shake, and the symbols on it began to move around it's surface. Then when the symbols matched up perfectly, it began to glow. It emitted the strange blow glow that filled the arena from Kolobos cards. The Millennium Globe rose up from Kolobos' hand and hovered above his head.

A blue bolt of energy shots upwards and explodes above them, from the explosion a vortex appears. A blue vortex spins round violently, almost acting like a black hole. It begins to suck the blue energy into it.

"I thought that you was the one Mikhail, but now all that will happen is that Darkness within you will strengthen the Legion of Shadows even more. And my search will continue." He lowers his head. "Veroz, Monolith of Suffering. Attack him directly."

Veroz swings his sword around in front of him, creating a arc of fire.

"FIRST THINGS FIRST!"

Veroz points to the vortex above them with his sword, and a fireball erupts from his weapon and enters the void.

"JOIN US!"

Mikhail looks up at the Vortex, waiting for Veroz to end this torment. And Veroz answers him. The mighty Monolith aims his sword high above his head once more, but this time a shaft of fire comes forth and flies into the clouds.

Mikhail stands there and waits, he knows what comes next. But unlike the two times before he cannot avoid the attack. The pillar of fire comes crashing down onto Mikhail, he closes his eyes waiting for the pain he felt the last two times. But this time nothing, no pain. Not even a feeling of the heat. He looks around himself, and he is surround by Veroz's attack. But the target isn't him, but the darkness within. Mikhail hears his scream of agony as he is pulled from Mikhail's body. The dark soul turns and looks at Mikhail, and tries to speak. But now there are separated Mikhail can no longer her his voice. A bolt of blue energy comes from the vortex and hits the Dark Mikhail in the back. He reaches towards Mikhail, as the energy pulls him in like a fish caught on a hook. The Dark Mikhail vanishes from view within the spinning blue vortex, and the vortex implodes on itself.

Mikhail's Life Points flick down to zero, and the Duel is over. The two Monoliths on the Field laugh out loud as they slowly disappear. The Millennium Globe floats slowly back down to Kolobos hand and it quickly places it back within his cloak. He looks over at Mikhail, who is still standing looking up at the sky where the vortex once was.

Kolobos walks forward, into the centre of the Duelling Field. He reaches into a pouch on his waist and pulls out a small booster pack. It is completely black. He throws it at Mikhail and it lands just near his feet.

"I thought you was the one Mikhail, maybe you are and that other within you was a distraction. He is gone now, and next time we face each other it will be just you and me. Take your prize, maybe it'll make our next meeting more interesting!"

Kolobos turns away from Mikhail and walks into the crowd.

Mikhail looked forward, eyes blank. He stood there, hypnotised, entranced by the loss of the spirit. He walked forward, mesmerised, and picked up the booster pack, tearing it open...

And collapsed.

He awoke again, feeling as though he had been out for centuries, but as his blurry vision refocused he could still see Kolobos' retreating form through the dispersing crowd, leaving after the duel's end. He was filled with rage, with fury, with uncontrollable anger aimed only at Kolobos. He felt into his pocket, searching for the opened booster pack. It wasn't there.

Alarm bells ringing over his rage, he searched frantically for his deck, still lodged in his duel disk. He stared at the cards: their sleeves had morphed, from the old sky-blue and white, to pitch-black and a complex symbol embossed in pale gold on each. Memory nagged at him, but he pushed it back: it distracted from his rage, from his fury. He needed to find Kolobos, to punish him... or punish another of his followers.

He picked up the top card of his deck, and was strangely unsurprised to see a new card. He grinned evilly at the card, then played it onto his duel disk. Lightning crackled above, and seal formed around his feet, intricate and brilliant as gold.

"Your soul is mine," he said clearly.

Kolobos turns while within the crowd, a grin on his face as he watches Mikhail atcivate his new card.

"Next time Mikhail." He says turning back into the crowd.

He walks around the arena, watching the other Duels around him when one catches his eye. It's the Duel involvoing Luther. Kolobos walks upto the Duel and stands behind Luther, his arms folded. Wolf played his Quick Play Spell Card and negated Luther's Trap. Kolobos shakes his head.

"You must remember Luther, that you have already lost one Duel in this contest. One more defeat and your out of this contest for good. Do not fail me, or the Legion of Shadows. Doing so and your fate will be the same as Mikhail's. You have the potential to win this battle, do so."

Kolobos standstall as Luther turns to face him, Luther just smiles as he looks into the eys of the Professor. The Professor can see that defeat is the last thing on Luther's mind, but he doesn't want to win the match to quickly. Luther is toying with Wolf, pulling him in. Waiting for the mistake, and then at the right time he will strike.

Kolobos suddenly take a step back, he's head quickly moving from side to side. Looking for something, as if someone had just called his name. He stops, and looks straight up.

"Monogwe." He says under his breath.
