Duel Academy: The Gods, The Beasts, and The Wickeds [Started/Accepting via OOC forum]

(Ergh... I keep screwing with his name. Sometimes I do E before A. Sometimes I do A before E. And spell check accepts both. <_< Uhh... I guess the strict 'canon' form will now be alphabetically, A before E.)

Michael was used to getting chastised by adults. In his mind, in the real world adults often spoke to each others as equals, which included telling others when they were sorely mistaken. Because of his own delusions of grandeur, he often times imagined himself to be on equal footing to the rests at this school, including the teachers.

 

He wasn't particularly ever anger or sad whenever he was punished. It was more of a feeling of pity. Pity on the person who was delivering punishment that they had misconstrued his brilliance as something worth punishing. Ah well, he could only educate so many so far, the rest was up to them, or so the ten year old thought.

 

Left to his own thoughts, and feeling already quite bored, he looked up only when a shadow had appeared. The taller teacher towered over him, as he stood upright no longer leaning on the wall. He craned his neck upwards to make eye contact.

 

"Come to apologize?" he thought to himself, biting his tongue if only for a moment to let the woman speak.

 

It seemed she was offering him some kind of deal, to scrap yet another conduct report if he'd behave himself. He cleared his throat before speaking. "I'll agree to be taught, if you can agree to teach." Was all he said before walking back into class, taking a seat closest to the door so he may leave at the earliest convenience.

Shudo sat boredly in class, not really caring about much that was going on. 'I heard about those cards...I wonder if I'll get one. Maybe it would be better if I didn't anyway,' he thought to himself boredly, 'Why do we even study here anyway, it's a duel academy...shouldn't we being learning to duel?' He pulled out his favorite card, Beast King Barbaros, and started staring at it under his desk.

"No Nia........... the not-so-exact opposite....... you're going to help SAVE the academy......" Jack explained "Ok, now that Darren's here, we can get down to business........" Jack stated "Hey, big bro....... how long is this going to take, some of us have praaa-homework to do." "Heh, I never imagined YOU doing homework Zack......." Jack said jokingly "Since you never HAVE any........ let me guess....... your bringing out that old 'Big Book-O-Pranks' that you bought before the Academy?" "Uh no." "Just forget it, now, you three..... you are some of the most promising Duelists in this academy, that's why I'm putting you three in charge of these cards." Jack explained while handing Zack 'Slifer the Sky Dragon', Nia 'Uria, Lord of Searing Flames' and Darren 'The Wicked Avatar' "Now, you are to tell no one else about this until YOU three collect all nine cards, Darren, YOU'RE going to be collecting the 'Wicked Gods', Nia, YOU'RE going to be collecting the next powerful..... the 'Sacred Beasts'..... and Zack......... YOU'RE going to be collecting the most powerful........ the 'Egyptian Gods'........ they're going to be scattered around the Academy grounds....... it's YOUR jobs to collect them....... oh, and Zack....... here are three cards to go with the 'Egyptian Gods'." Jack explained while handing Zack three more cards "Zack, I handed you Slifer the Sky Dragon, Nia, I handed you Uria, Lord of Searing Flames..... and Darren..... you have The Wicked Avatar..... now, you are going to go out there and find those cards! After classes of course..... now..... dismissed."

In the Obelisk Blue Boys' Dorm, Kay was sitting on his bed reading a book. Kay then closed his book and went to the window. He stared at the sky and then at the students below. "Hmm........ Today is a nice day........" Kay said to himself. He went to his desk and took his deck out of a case and stared at his ace card and favorite monster, Surging Dragon Knight Dragoequites. It shined brightly as if to tell Kay something. "Are you sure? Hmm....... Very well then........" Kay said as he put his deck into the case and clipped the case onto his belt. Kay walked outside and started to go down the hall. There he saw Professor Lance Yura who teaches Advance Tactics and is the head of the Obelisk Blue Boys' Dorm.

 

"Hello Kay, how are you doing today?" Lance asked with a friendly tone. "I'm fine........" Kay answered. "How's your homework coming along?" Lance asked. "Fine........ I'm having some difficulties with some unfimiliar questions, but I get through them........." Kay responded. "Very well, have a good day. And don't be late for my class later." Lance said as Kay walked away. Kay made his way outside onto the campus. "Maybe I should get to class early......... {Sigh} Maybe not........." Kay said as he sat on a bench enjoying the sunlight.

Michael tapped his pen, impatience growing within him as he awaited for class to be dismissed. He considered himself a model student, surrounded by idiots, rather then viewing himself in a negative light. He looked over at the professor and just, rather loudly, cleared his throat. Perhaps a reminder to let her know that there were still students in the room, and that many of them were still awake, no thanks to her.

 

He then yawned, also rather loudly. A condescending smirk on his face, as he believed he found himself to be in possession of the greater hand. He got a chance to berate and unnerve the professor but he hadn't broken her silly little 'no talking back' rule in order to do it.

IC: "Are you still here? Or do you have any questions?" Jack asked "Yes actually...... can you give us any ideas where the cards might be?" Zack asked "My guess would be the Triangle of power........ Sacred Beasts are bottom left, Wicked Gods are bottom right..... Egyptian Gods are top....... but of course, those are the first ones...... the second ones...... I have no idea.............." Jack explained "(I hope these three can do it.....)" Jack thought.

OOC: I was talking to Ultra via PM, and he said that no one was supposed to know about the gods, beasts, or wickeds. So far, Darren, Nia, and Zack are the only ones who know.

 

IC: Darren looked in awe at the card. Well... at least, he felt awe towards it. He managed to keep his expression the same as always. "Thanks... I guess. So... can we head back to our dorms? Maybe begin our search for the cards? Really, I just don't want to go back to class. All those morons are just talking about random 'stuff' (IDK if this is PG-13, 16, or w/e, so I try not to say bad stuff unless it actually IS okay), and I really don't wanna listen to their 'crud'." Darren truly hated people like that. People who shouted their problems out loud, who didn't care about the fact that just MAYBE other people had things to do. People who ruined the world for others with no concern for anyone but themselves. Darren would make sure that those kind of people wouldn't be able to bother anyone if he got the rest of those cards. Darren slipped the card in his deck, and immediately strategies popped into his head.

 

Edit: Srry Ultra, I must've clicked post reply right after you. Otherwise, I wouldn't have put that in my ooc. In fact, I wouldn't have posted in OOC at all. Also, give me a sec to change colors.

Kay continued to relax in the sunlight. He then looked up towards the sky. "Funny.......... I envy the clouds......." Kay said to himself. Kay then stood up and walked towards the main campus. From there, he headed to Duel Monsters Basic. "Sorry I'm late........ Here's my assignment from yesterday........ hope you don't mind if I typed it........." Kay stated as he placed the assignment onto Professor Isabelle's desk. He then made his way to his assigned seat and took out a notebook and pen to take notes, even though he's already acing this class along with the other classes. "(I wonder has anything exciting happened while I was in my room? Hmm, guess I'll find out later......)" Kay thought to himself.

 

-Meanwhile-

 

Lance made his way to his classroom and started writing notes onto the chalkboard for the next batch of students to copy down. Suddenly, the chalk Lance was using broke. "Huh, well that's not a good sign........" Lance said to himself.

OOC: just to make things easier, if you have 2 characters, make your first character talk/think in red, and your second in blue, EX: Zack: Red, Jack: Blue.... this IS optional.....

 

IC: "Any other questions before you head back to class?" Jack asked "No..... not really big bro." Zack responded "Ok, head back to class now......." "(I hope they can do it....... the fate of the academy rests in their hands........ but..... something isn't quite right....... I can't put my finger on it.........)" Jack thought. Zack headed back to class to find Kay had finally arrived "(I'd better get back to work)" *Whistling* "(When AM I going to bring out my book?)"

There's an old scientific theory that states the younger you are, the less patient you are. It makes sense, to a degree. If you live to be a hundred, years feel like they're passing exponentially quicker, whereas if you're ten years old, ten minutes feels like a life time.

 

Michael was restless as he sat about doing a whole bunch of nothing, feeling many lifetimes pass behind him as he waited for class to resume. Since he was only ten years old, his patience was growing particularly thin.

 

He tried to rationalize the wait. She's just waiting for the 3 students to return. he thought. Sure, it's a foolish move, but she hasn't exactly proven herself to be the most capable in a tense situation. The three students can catch up, but we can't turn the clock and reverse time for the many students already waiting here.

 

Michael was beginning to feel the onset of a migraine when he heard the door open. "FIINALLY!" he groaned at the sound, turning to see... a person who certainly wasn't either Zack, Nia, or Darren.

 

"Ugh!" his head didn't have to go too far to reach the table top as he performed a 'headdesk'-like action in exasperation. "God damn it!" he muttered, his voice muffled.

 

(Didn't notice the post just before mine. <_<)

 

Michael kept his head down, not bothering to look up at the second click, assuming it to just be the door closing behind Kay.

Kay looked at the boy who had just lowered his head onto the table. "(Youth.......... He's impatient probably.......... but what do I know, I'm a youth myself............)" Kay thought to himself as he turned his head back, facing the front. "(I wonder what's Professor Isabelle waiting for? I would ask but......... {Sigh})" Kay thought to himself as he began to draw in his notebook, waiting for the professor to teach something. Kay then looked at the other students present at the moment. "(Some of these students........ they seem very interesting........ maybe I should say hi............)" Kay thought to himself as he was about to stood up, but then he sat back down again. "(Never mind..........)"

 

-Meanwhile-

 

Lance walked down the hallway to get to the vending machine. On his way, he noticed that Isabelle is not teaching her class. "Hmm, I wonder what she's doing?" Lance asked himself and then continued down the hallway.

"(i'm gonna ditch! Right now!)" Zack thought while sneaking out the door to find the next card..... "(The first time I actually WANT him to ditch............)" Jack thought "You two have class, get going." "(I actually want THEM to ditch as well......... weird day for me.........)" "Hehehe..... I'm out..... now...... if I remember correctly........ yep, that way........." Zack said to himself before running in the direction that Jack said was where the next Egyptian God was....... he also grabbed a shovel from his dorm "(Ok, if I'm right...... it'll be buried in a little chamber..........)"

[Lord JZ of the Enigma]

"Hmm, so the Chancellor gave me a very very important job....." she said while skipping to her next class. "And the other two guys seem really really nice....." she looked at her deck. "and not only that...we got such a pretty card," that's when she noticed Weiss walking along towards the bathroom. "It's the apprentice boy...he may not be the next in line to the water clan, but he is close to them.....oh well, just keep up the smile."

 

"Why do I have to wear this stupid card just to get to the bathroom..." he looked over towards the front of the hall and saw Nia skipping about, sure she looked cute, but there was also a scary aura to her that he felt.

Lance, after getting a soda from the vending machine, decided to go outside for awhile since his class is not starting yet. As he was outside enjoying his soda, he noticed Zack running with a shovel. He ran after Zack, finally stopping in front of him. "Hold it Zack!" Lance exclaimed. "Where do you think you're going during classtime? And with a shovel, I didn't know it's the Annual Duel Academy Scavenger Hunt already." Lance said sarcastically. "So, I hope you have a good explanation Zack. Also I hope you finished the assignment I handed out yesterday while you were asleep in my class Zack." Lance stated while crossing his arms.

"I did, and I have an explanation I cannot talk about right now! So later!" Zack yelled while getting around him. A few minutes later: Zack made it around where Jack said that the card might be "Ok, better start digging here........". A few minutes later: "UGH! Just...... phew....... more....... feet....." *DING!* "Wow, looks like I hit something metal, well, better see what it is.......". A few seconds later: "Ok, I found a hatch......" "(If I know Zack...... he's probably almost got the second card......)" Jack thought. Zack was in a little chamber, he found a sentence engraved on some stone, it read: Thee who searches the card must show the card "WHAT!? What does it mean by show the card to get the card!?" Zack yelled, then he saw some more stone with some space, the stone was right in front of a square hole in the ground, the space was about the size of a card "? Oh, I see." Zack stated as he pulled out Slifer, he put Slifer in the space, and the chamber started to shake *rumble rumble* and ANOTHER stone table rose, it had 'Obelisk the Tormentor' in the space, Zack picked Obelisk and Slifer up, and ran back to class.

Zack ran off, leaving Lance confused. "What the? {Sigh} That boy can be quite the troublemaker sometimes........ I guess as long as he does his homework I can let him off.......... Wait, I forgot to ask him about the food fight in the Obelisk Blue Boys' Dorm, darn it! He got away again........ {Sigh} I'll just ask him later when he's back in his dorm then........." Lance stated as he made his way back to his classroom.

 

-Meanwhile-

 

Zack rushed through the doors of the classroom looking like he was chased by a ghost or he that he saw a certain professor. "(So Zack's back........ Maybe I should ask him for a duel later......... He owes me that for what happened in the dorms.......... Zack, you're such a handfull sometimes.........)" Kay thought to himself.

Zack was in the class, then he saw Kay looking staring at him "What on EARTH do YOU want?" Zack asked "I wonder if he got the card.... knowing him it would be like.......... wow, that would be a new record for finding something for him....... ten minutes......... knowing the routine of the teachers........ yep......... ten minutes.......... I just hope Lance didn't stop him.......... well........ let's see how Isabelle's class is doing........ well, better go check it out......." Jack said to himself as he walked down to Isabelle's classroom.

"Humph......... don't have to be so hostile Zack.......... especially to a friend........ By the way, why were you gone for so long?" Kay asked calmly as scratched his cheek. "Hopefully you didn't run into Professor Yura........ and if you did, hopefully he didn't ask about the you know what........." Kas stated as he crossed his arms. "Anyways.......... You better take your seat before Professor Isabelle gets angry at you........" Kay then looked back at the chalkboard, but then he noticed the Chancellor walking in. "Look Zack....... It's your big brother........." Kay proclaimed as he pointed to Jack.

Shudo looked around the room, still bored out of his mind waiting for the teacher to dismiss them. He looked over at the kid named 'Michael' wondering 'Why is he such a snob, sure he is in the same dorm as me, but he's only 10 and thinks he can do wahtever he wants! reminds me of my sister, and I came here to get AWAY from her' he put Barbaros away, and then slid his deck back into his pocket.

Zack was holding up Obelisk and Slifer, after Kay pointed to Jack, Zack showed Jack Obelisk and Slifer together "I found the second card........" Zack whispered "Well done..... now excuse me for a moment....." Jack whispered, then Jack walked up to Isabelle "Isabelle..... why are you not teaching? If you have nothing to say, I DO!" then he turned to the class "Ok, someone tell me the nine most powerful mythical cards,"

Shudo raised his hand quickly and said, "It is debatable, some cosider Exodia one, but in my opinion, it would be the three Egyptian Gods, The three Wicked Gods, and the three Sacred Beasts, but why are you asking us this if they are not real?" Shudo asked the chancellor.

"You are correct...... the Egyptian Gods, the Wicked Gods, and the Sacred Beasts ARE the most powerful mythical cards........ the reason I'm asking you this is because this is Duel Monsters history and Mythology right? Correct me if I'm wrong." "Actually this is Duel Monsters basics class." Zack corrected "Oh, alright then....... I'l just observe the class." "(Ugh....... the one time to embarrass myself it's in front of a class.....)"

Michael raised his head at the sound of people talking, but he felt his migraine was already kicking in. He sighed, trying to will it away.

 

Some old guy who was already bald started asking questions. Michael wasn't sure if he recognized him, before finally recalling seeing him once on his first day at the 'Freshman Orientation'. He rolled his eyes, wondering why he suddenly had an interest in this class but didn't bother mentioning it.

 

The youth heard a question he didn't bother to care about, something about nine powerful cards. Another classmate raised his hand and answered Exodia was arguably one of them. Michael couldn't help but roll his eyes at what he said.

 

Once the chancellor had finished his little tangent, Michael shouted, probably across the room towards the student who had just spoke. "For the record chap, Exodia is five cards, not one."

Zack sat down and tuned everyone out, he set Slifer the Sky Dragon and Obelisk the Tormentor on his desk, making sure no one else could see them........ he just stared at them....... and thought about the situation "(Ok...... the fate of the academy rests in the hands of me, Nia and Darren.......... we hold the fate of our school......... if we fail........ but I also have a bad feeling about those two...... aww probably nothing.......)" Zack thought.

"(Hmm............ Things are getting very interesting around here.......... I've been bored most of these days........... but this just might be something worth looking in to.)" Kay thought to himself as he placed his hand on his chin and watched the events transpired quietly in his chair. "(Why would the chancellor care about the history of Egyptian Gods, Sacred Beasts, and the Wicked Gods? Whatever his reason is........... I can tell this is going to be an interesting school year.............)" Kay thought to himself. Outside the classroom, Lance was listening to the conversation. "Huh, interesting. I guess there's a reason why the chancellor ask about them. I'll look into that subject a little more later." Lance said to himself as he continued his way to his classroom.
