I usually run 40/20 in a deck (40 spells/ 20 land) it works quite well in most cases. If you want help with building a deck or something feel free to post it here or pm me.

 

Hey does anyone else here have an Eldrazi Deck? (I mean eldrazi deck that is all spawning and eldrazi themselves not a deck that is a combo of that and other stuff)

 

Your 40/20 ratio is ideal' date=' but I saw a deck in a magazine that won first place - and it had 43 lands. Not joking. If I can find the magazine, I will post the recipe. However, I don't recommend you try and build the deck - as most of the cards in it are OLD and EXPENSIVE!

 

I have some cards to do it, but not a straight dedicated Eldrazi. It seems like it'd be a tad slow without other kinds of support, personally.

It depends, I use 4 of the nest invaders and 4 brood birthing in it as well as a lot of the lower costing ones. Other than eldrazi cards themselves the highest cost it have is 5 for dread drone and emrakul's hatcher. Besides unless i get at least two different color land in my hand I mulligan.

You're better off with a white life gain deck with 4 copies of Adjani Goldmane in it and using his final ability which puts a white avatar creature token into play with the ability this creature's power and toughness are equal to your life total. Plus if you use 4 Soul's Attendant and 4 Lone Missionary that's some serious life gain.

I'll use this for fun, and I find Dredge decks really fun to play.

 

Idiot Life decks are not very good, unless you can actually get a Felidar Sovereign to last a turn. In my MTG environment, getting a PW to full loyalty would be impossible. Once you play such a card, the entire table turns at it, and you.

I've bought a few Zendikar Packs but that was the last time I bought any. I usually just use my 5-color deck, especially since it has my current favorite card I own. My foil-Progenitus. I usually get out a lot of mana and a prismatic omen, and I can get out Maelstrom Archangel quickly and then use its ability to get out Progenitus, or I just get as much mana as I can and prismatic omen (I pretty much LUV that card in a five-colored deck) and use Last Stand.

That's why you want life gain and big creatures like that, you use the creatures to block and protect the planeswalker.

I have 4 nest invader and 3 of kolizek's predator in my eldrazi deck so I' use both.

I actually have an idea in the works. I just haven't shared it. It's basically a WHAT IF scenario:

 

The Eldrazi won the battle on Zendikar, reclaimed the Eye of Ugin, and escaped into the Aether. Gideon Jura is dead. The Eldrazi are now traveling to other planes, stealing a great treasure from them, and destroying them.

 

Sarkon went back and reported his failure to Nicol Boras. In response, Nicol Boras contacts other planeswalers (that's us) in addition to the others (Chandra, Jace, Garruk, etc..) and tells us that we need to protect the treasures and planes from the Eldrazi. The treasre include (rough list)

Mirrodin - The Core of Mirrodin

Kamigaka - That Which Was Taken

Ravnica - Guildpact

Lorwyn - (haven't figured out what is something from here)

Alara - Obelisk of Alara

That actually sounds really awesome. Really, Really awesome. You should have some way to help out the eldrazi too. What if some people were Eldrazi/Human hybrids? They are humans who have, instead of absorbing the power of the spark, absorbed the power of the Eye of Ugin.

Sounds pretty awesome Saturn. If you need any help just ask. I've thought about it for a while too. Though a few things come to mind when making an RP like that.

 

1. How would you make a system for mana? Would you allow people to have infinite mana, or would you find a way for them to earn mana?
   
2. Would we be allowed to cast creature spells? If so, could we use any/all we wanted, or have to gain them?
   
3. Would we be allowed to have any/all the colors we wanted for our planeswalkers? Or would we start with 1 and gain more later?
   

 

These are just a few things I've thought of. You don't have to take them into consideration if you don't want to though.

lol I mostly just play and collect. I tried learning about the stories, but I gave up on that. I pretty much have NO idea on the stories behind the sets, or the planeswalkers, or anything else really.

If you do make an MTG RP, be very careful and don't screw up. the fact that MTG doesn't have shows and games and stuff is one of the reasons it hasn't did like yugioh and the others.

As I said before, this is a WHAT IF scenario. We don't have to go canon if we don't want. This is more for fun than anything, right?

 

Mirari - If it's Memnarch, that's fine. The Eldrazi can still take it. They can find a use for him.

Core - Didn't know the core went nova. The RP can go on a timeline before it went nova.

TWWT - Living being or not, the Eldrazi can still take it.

Guildpact - Steal the new one? With the Eldrazi invading Ravnica, it could put a strain on the trust of the people and guilds. Chaos tends to do that.
