Club Magic [Current Event - Deck Building Contest]

Recommended Posts

Monoblack vampires are so freaking annoying. I swear' date=' I fought a guy who had NO card with a converted mana cost higher than 4.[/b']

I have the artifact archenemy deck - and it looks decent. The Scheme cards make it SO freaking powerful. However, the deck build did give me an idea to try and experiment with.

And sorry, but I am a bit too tired to duel ATM. :(

That's what my friend Matt's Vampire deck is.

Remy and I are dueling at the moment if anyone cares. Would you like me to post a review?

Sure. Also what happened to the other log?

And to go back to my Vamps' date=' I need Nirkana Cutthroat, Blood Seeker, Gatekeeper of Malakir, and Vampire Nighthawk.

I think I just won, since I let out a wave of creatures. His deck scared me so much and I thought I would die immeadiately. But he would've won in probably one more turn.

It's a lot of wrds some which have nothing to do with the duel so I'm still finishing it. Also give me a minute....... I just lost so it doesn't matter.

I used a slow deck versus a moderate speed deck.

Also I was going to play Book Burning next turn. It's the best burn card in the entire game.

Yea so I won, but Genesis was using a slow deck and I was using moderate speed, which gave me an advantage. He would've won the next turn, and his deck is AMAZING! Well, I think I should actually make some progress on the RP now. Anyone wanna help start developing it? Seems like there is no work done on it yet, so I wanna start.

Edit: Okay book burning is SOOO unfair. Basically I get milled 6 cards or I lose 6 life.

Put it this way I use Jhoira of the Ghitu to play big spells like Cast Through Time, Eye of the Storm, Sphinx-Bone Wand, and Djinn Illuminatus. Also I had Kiln Fiend and 2 Wee Dragonauts in play. The next turn all that would be in play and I'd play Book Burning.

If you don't know Book Burning you have to look it up. That is not a suggestion.

Book Burning sounds like one of those difficult cards to deal with if your on the receiving end.

Regarding the RP i'll help you out even though i have zero experience whatsoever with such a thing. (probably be zero help)

Edit: Btw Book Burning isnt so bad Remnants. Choice of Damnations goes from bad to worse.

Well if you're gonna be zero help then maybe you shouldn't help. Though RPs are not hard to learn. The first ever time I RPed I was doing 3 paragraphs per post. Though not everyone can live up to that standard.

Of course the basics would be the plot. Then how casting spells and gathering mana really. I have the whole idea on what to work on. Just need to actually make it.

Book Burning

Mana Cost: 1 Red mana and 1 colorless mana

Type: Sorcery

Lore: Unless a player has Book Burning deal 6 damage to him or her, put the top six cards of target player's library into his or her graveyard.

All that for 2 casting. Now I was going to have it with rebound and replicate.

Also when it says unless a player has book burning it means when you play it if your opponent doesn't have a copy of book burning in the deck they're currently using. Basically if you use book burning and you opponent has their own in their deck you just send the top six cards to the grave, but if they don't then you deal 6 damage as well.

I was going to play it, replicate it 3 times. That's three book burning each with rebound. If my opponent doesn't have one in their deck that's a total of 36 damage and 36 cards sent to the grave. And it would only cost me 6 mana. Can you say EPIC CARD FTW!

Remy, don't brag about RPing or I'll have to 1up you..... I'm gonna do it anyway.

I currently control 11 characters in one rp and I've been able to actually develop each and every one of them. Put it this way: That impressed most of RP820, including Nexev!

Two things Genesis: 1) That just means you're good at Character making. I'm good at the act of RPing. And impressing Nexev has no value to me. I've seen her work, and after much time of experiencing her work, I say her plots are okay, but not that great. Like that weird chef thing she posted. That was pretty bad. Everything else I've seen is okay.

2) Your strategy would do 36 damage OR send 36 cards to the grave. Not both. Or it could do a mix, but basically you wouldn't do damage and mill.

Actually if you read the lore there is no OR it does both if the opponent doesn't have their own copy. Trust me I used it in tourney play. It works, that's why it's the most epic red burn spell there is!

Also I'm controlling 11 characters at once in one RP, Struggle of Powers. Jake's RP and each of my posts is a minimum 5-6 paragraphs. I only mentioned Nexev's approval because it's very rare that HE compliments anything.

But it makes it sound like the opponent picks. From the way I read it the opponent can either take the mill of 6 or stop it by taking a burn of 6.

I'm right

Book Burning is either or not both. Went ahead and looked it up on MTG's Gatherer. The oracle says the following:

Card Text:

Any player may have Book Burning deal 6 damage to him or her. If no one does, put the top six cards of target player's library into his or her graveyard.

Hope that clears that up...if not i tried. >_>

That's true. And it's great you're controlling 11 characters, but SoP is sorta... meh-ish. Anyways, that is great, but the degree of which you roleplay must also be taken into consideration. But this isn't a one-up contest. Those are for ***holes who are too prideful to admit that there are people better than them at certain things.

Anyways, what card are you talking about? Last time I checked, Book Burning does 6 damage OR makes target player send 6 cards from their deck to the grave. And that's only if no one takes the 6 damage.

No, I typed up the Lore directly from the card.

[spoiler=Book Burning]Image.ashx?multiverseid=35891&type=card

The way the lore is written is that when I play book burning, if my opponent doesn't have one in their deck I deal 6 damage AND mill the top 6 cards from their deck. If they do have a copy of book burning in their deck then I only mill the top 6 cards from their deck. I used the deck you played in a high level tournament. I didn't do well in the tournament because my deck wasn't fast enough, but I used book burning and my opponent argued the same thing you did. We had a Wizards official there and he said no that my opponent was wrong it works exactly as I said.

Even Wizard officials can make mistakes. I still don't see how you can miss interpret the card even by using the lore from the card itself. From what you're saying your reading it like this "Unless a player has Book Burning (Comma) deal 6 damage him or her,..." but as you can see the lore doesn't have a comma there. Further more use the Gatherer as it provides an updated version of the lore, and its official so you can't really argue against it.

It doesn't make sense but whatever. The context of the wording differs completely from that decision you showed Oyobi. So I say if they want the card to work that way they should reprint it that way. I may be stubborn, but I play the way the cards read.

On a different note who know's the name of the Land that was banned?
