The fact that it isn't necessarily that strong isn't nearly enough reason to hate it. And saying that it's bad because God is so obviously stronger than saying it would be like my hating Naruto for being weaker than Shikieiki Yamaxanadu. Saying that Pikachu sucks as a character because you're annoyed by its fans would be like my hating Naruto for beating Shikieiki Yamaxanadu in the YCM Grand Prix -- I can be pissed about the moronic fanbase, but it doesn't give me license to hate the character.

 

More to the point, you're severely misreading the argument of the perfectly reasonable kid in your own script: no one claims Pikachu is that strong... except Ash's, which is by now probably Level 100 in a world where the Gym Leaders are practically unstoppable. They like Pikachu for his/her/its/potato's tenacity, loyalty, and well-developed personality; unlike you, they can look past mere power into the personality of the being.

 

(That said, Eiki > Naruto in all ways -- she got to be a judge of the dead through hard work and virtue alone...)

How could you Diss the Star Ocean 3 characters!? Peppita was just plain awesome!

Also Wakka is WAY worse then Tidus "Ya, I get to play Blitzball Ya, and to save the world from Sin or something YA!"

 

Most characters annoyed me. I mean, the coolest one they had dressed like a girl and had a 2-word vocabulary (maggot and worm, if I'm not mistaken?)

I don't know, I just couldn't link to any character. :/ Peppitta was annoying as hell, in my opinion. But hey, to each his own.;)

 

Wakka was Jamaican, man,what's not to love, ya? Well, not Jamaican, but almost. Besides, the guy kicked a**with a football. Sometimes, a blade-covered football. I don't know, I kinda liked Wakka as a side character. He was dumb, yeah ya, but he didn't annoy me; he had a story of his own and a personality, the voice actor wasn't bad (or perhaps the whole cast was so meh that I just didn't care by then?)... Tidus as a main character irritated me; he was a whiny, stuck-up mary-sue who pretty much tags along at first because Yuna's hot. All that would be passable if the whole story didn't revolve around him, but as it is, I hate the guy's guts. :P

Mm... that narrows it down to... the mad loli vampire, the whimsical border goddess, the HOT BLOODED witch, the lazy-yet-badass armpit miko, the Yama who earned her job through pure awesome, the genius lunar general who betrayed her homeland for the sake of justice, the snarky half-human shopkeeper, the were-hakutaku schoolteacher, the BADASS ghost captain with the giant anchor, the NEET moon princess, and the GIANT RED CLOUD that PUNCHES THINGS with his GIANT BROFISTS, plus a few more, probably.

 

Slightly more plausible, but still a bit strange -- rather a lot of variety. (I actually like ALL HUNDRED PLUS of them, personally.)

 

I think a great deal of this thread is caused by a lack of empathy. Put yourself in the person's shoes before you start hating them. That's why the list of characters I dislike pretty much consists of "the mailman," "Wakka," "Tidus," and maybe "Adam Malkovich..." maybe.

Some of these complaints are about Legend of zelda. So is this one. Have you ever played Majoras Mask? Have you gotten to the third boss?

WORST.FUXING.BOSS.EVER! I hate him so much. First of all, just about any under water level/boss sucks, so theres one problem. Another is hes a giant fish In a body of water while your stranded on this tiny a$$ island thing. He jumps over you, taking a bit of your life, and if you sheild, he drags you into the water. He slams into the side of the island-thing, so if your near the edge, your screwed. He eats you, and takes forever to spit you out and give you the damage. and when you hit him and he spazs to the ground, it takes forever to get to the bottom, therefor making you an easy eating target. Lord knows how I beat him.

Why?: Do you want to be escorted WITHOUT getting in my line of fire and running into the enemy's sights, Natalia? Not only is this EXTREMELY annoying, but the Agency blames YOU for her death. You're screaming at the console for thinking that the suicidal simpleton died because you couldn't control her. She does this again.

And again.

And AGAIN!

She has to be my least favorite character of all time.

Sure he supplies you with upgrades, but at what cost? With all the hillarious charm of Jar Jar Binks from Star Wars, the insufferable robot pollutes Borderlands with his...dancing.

 

Also annoying, Joey from Pokemon: HeartGold or SoulSilver.

I'll be in the middle of looking for rare Pokemon or Moonstone with my Pokeradar or Dowsing Machine and *bipitty-bippity-bip!* I'm getting a call from the twerp. Notable stupid things he talks to me about while I'm trying to find some cool Pokemon?:

"Yeah, so I noticed my Rattata is very different from other Rattatas."

"He's in the TOP PERCENTAGE! (Shut up he's LVL. 6, kid!)"

"So me and my Rattata are gonna go train. Bye! CLICK!..."

 

Joey is seen again on the Summit in Ecruteak City. His Rattata has apparently evolved into a Raticate. But for some reason this has not slipped into his tiny mind. He's still bragging about his Rattata. This comic below illustrates the moronic actions of Joey. [spoiler=JOEY'S STUPIDITY]
